Nestled near temples and the airport, Ramada by Wyndham Khajuraho garners appreciation for its strategic location and picturesque setting. Guests often commend the hotel's amenities, especially the delectable cuisine and meticulous service, despite some reports of maintenance woes. The rooms are generally celebrated for their cleanliness and comfort, though a few guests suggest updates are needed. While opinions on value vary, with some finding it economical and others overpriced, the overall atmosphere exudes a charming old-world vibe that is well-liked, marred slightly by areas in need of upkeep.

The hotel staff and grounds are super nice. Hotel rooms were a good size which we appreciated as there were 3 of us sharing it. While the rooms are a good size, our safe did not work and the AC wasn't great. Also, the hallways have zero carpeting or wall coverings, there is nothing to absorb any noise in the hallways. So it is a little loud in the rooms when people are talking in them.

The food is quite good, huge menu when ordering ala carte. Good taste and good service. Sadly they only had 1 bottle of the wine we wanted, but they did feel bad about it... Breakfast in the morning was a buffet (pre-Covid) good selection, slow on the omelette station.

Take advantage of the spa, but know what you are getting into. They are VERY different than the massages we typically get in the US.

In these testing times of covid, hotel management team is doing great job. Properly sanitized rooms and furniture, staff is also taking full precautions. During check in all the luggage are sanitized by the staff. Great food and ambience. A safe place to stay.

The hotel is luxurious, big and with lots of facilities.
Our room wasn't small but we were 4 so the additional beds took the place. The bathroom was big and comfy.
The breakfast was tasty with wide options to choose from. Dinner was very good also although a bit pricey and we had to wait longer (I assume due to wedding preparations).

Overall, I would expect much more from a five star hotel.
The biggest issue was the staff quality. I had to explain our requirements several times to 2 or 3 people on the reception to be understood and reflected.
The other issue - or maybe just coincidence - that during our stay the hotel was fully booked for a wedding, which took place in the hotel garden, directly under our windows. Despite we were not invited :), we couldn't sleep due to the noise from outside. I would expect more understanding from the management is situation: if they need to fill the hotel to last available room, they might give a secluded room those who are not attending the wedding.
Due to the wedding events and full hotel, we could not use the pool - it was full and not clean.

My stay at Ramada Khajuraho was an ordeal and i regret not having booked at The Mint Bundela just opposite to this property.
I stayed at the hotel from 21st till 24th December 2019 and was there for the film festival. Here are some of the highlights of my ordeal.

1. My booking was done through booking.com and the first thing as i landed at the hotel was the lady receptionist asking me to pay the entire amount upfront, stating some weird logic that because i had booked through booking.com i must pay for all 3 days as per rules.. I was shocked with this statement and i point blank told then that i would pay only after my stay was over. With a disappointed look on her face she started arguing with me but soon realised it was pointless.

2. The room i was given was in a terrible shape.. looked like it hadn't been opened for months.. with that peculiar musty smell. The glasses were dirty, the fridge was not working, the bathroom lacked basic amenities like a dental kit and a shower cap. The seat cover was broken, the water as i opened the tap was brown (apparently due to some repair work in that section of the property). I took pics to be shown to the maangement (attached herewith)

My room was changed after complaining and no denying i was given a better room the second day. Having said that the cups were still not clean and i actually showed a lipstick stain on an unused cup to the house keeping staff.

Last but not the least.. on the day of checkout at 12.15 pm i get a call from the same lady at the reception and she insisted that i must vacate the room within half an hour as there was another guest expected. I had requested for a delayed checkout of an hour and depite the hotel being empty she kept insisting. I finally lost it and went and complained to the general manager who was quite polite and supportive and apologized for the lady's behavior. He agreed that there was no rush and the behavior of the receptionist was uncalled for. He also told me that he was quite surprised why she had given me a room in the remotest section when the front area was reasonably empty.

Also, i had just one meal at Ramada and that was the breakfast on 22nd morning. The service at breakfast was slow and there were just 2 people attending to almost 50 guests.

Overall my recommendation of this hotel on a scale of 10 is 3.

PS: Thanks to Mr Saurabh at the front desk for his cooperation on the first day inspite my returning quite late in the night..

I booked Ramada for 3 nights. I arrived at the hotel welcomed by a sign cm"please carry your own luggage inside' maybe a Corona safety measure but there was no one at entrance to take temperature or give sanitizer or spray the bags. I enter and there was no one at reception. Called out and managed to get one person for check in (without a mask) who gave me two sets of forms. So much for contactless check-in. I go into my room well TV not working and no WiFi. Took 39 minutes to get WiFi and had to call reception about the TV. After about 40 minutes comes one person who calls the manager from my room asking him to pay the subscription for the satellite box.
Was handed a thick printed menu (no contact less). Of course most of the dish were not available. I asked tell me what is available. Basically settled for sandwich as staff had gone on break in a 24x7 restaurant. Ordered dinner at night. Was advised room service. The food was so bad totally unconsumable with overflowing soya sauce and of course sweet corn soup without sweet corn. In all the experience was so bad that I left the next day morning though I had paid for 3 days. For full disclosure, the Manager did call me three times after I had checked out , apologized and returned the charges for the two days I had not stayed. But all too late

Very bad experience not expected from 5 star hotel like Ramada . They didn’t provide welcome drink on arrival. They didn’t provide drinking water. On asking water they ask for empty bottles for water . AC was not working despite repeated calls they didn’t send any mechanic for AC repairing. I booked room with breakfast but they didn’t provide complementary breakfast.

This is more like a 3 star hotel than 5 star. We went to ramada expecting this to be a 5 star property.

The rooms are good and well maintained but room service needs far more improvement. For every small need we had to call thrice. The morning buffet spread was also not upto the 5 star Mark.

Worst part is the exhorbitant price of food while the room rent is lower than the competing hotels but the food is exhorbitsntly expensive. They provide 500 ml of two bottles after which 1 litre is oriced at 125 rs. One dal rice will cost you close to 950 bucks.

We have stayed in many ramada properties and this was by far our worst experience.

I had a very unpleasant experience at Ramada Khajuraho. I am a consultant for a Cement Company, and i Had been working all week. I decided to book Ramada Khajuraho for two nights to rest.

I checked in at 8 in the evening on the 20th May.

On the 21st evening, I decided to use the gym, the gym was locked. I asked the staff to open the gym at 6:00. They made me wait for 45 mins outside the gym, saying they’re getting keys to open the gym. After running out of patience, I went to the front desk and asked them to open the gym. They said the gym is shuts at 7, to which I replied that your staff has made me outside the gym for nearly an hour.

Eventually they agreed to let me use the gym. One of the manager escorted me along to the gym. Upon reaching the gym, i saw three people using the gym. The manager asked me again to wait outside, he came back and said that the MD of the Hotel is using the gym, so you just wait for 10 mins as he’s finishing his workout and you can use after that. I nodded my head and told him, I won’t disturb his privacy, I’ll let him be. The manager insisted, so i decided to wait more. They locked the gym door from the inside again. He told me 10 mins but i waited for 20 mins. After the MD left, i saw that as he used the other door for his exit. I decided to knock again and again, apparently his son was using the gym now and he wanted his privacy. I honestly felt like knocking that door down and getting a facetime with the father and the son. I calmed myself down and headed to my room.

Can’t a hotel guest use any service while the owner of the Hotel is using those services for himself? Shouldn’t the owner and his family, give preference to their guest to use the Hotel services? I have been to Ramada’s across the country but never have i ever faced this kind of disservice. I wouldn’t recommend anybody to use Ramada at Khajuraho. The owners are selfish and I doubt they know anything about the term Hospitality.

Regards
Digvijay

The hotel is close to the unesco site of temples. It's beautiful and Serene. The staff is helpful too. My washroom shower door was broken, sonthey need to maintain, this was he only problem I faced and so my room was promptly changed. The food is good too. I liked the continuous mantra chants in morning at the breakfast buffet, it makes the environment so peaceful and spiritual.

All in all wonderful stay with my family.

Buona giornata
