Bohemian masala is located in quite part of varkala away from the hustle n bustle of the cliff, but within walking distance of the cliff n the beach. Quaint tribal cottages and ample greenery is a welcome change bohemian has to offer, cashew and jackfruit trees and ample greenery surrounds the cottages. Ideal for travellers seeking solace n peace and occassional squirrels for company. Resort staff were polite and professional and extremely helpful . I had planned to stay for couple of nights but ended up staying for nearly a week enjoying the bohemian feel of the place and stepping out in evening to the beach n cliff at a walking distance from the resort. Cottages are cozy , they have a yoga hall and an in house restaurant as well and they provide ayurvedic treatments for…
The resort was located in a very good area with easy access to black beach and the cliff. The rooms were well decorated and had a nice village touch very similar to what a normal Kerala village would look. The manager and the chef were mos accomodative and helped us. Only con was that the dry weather left the vegetation a little rusty but the rains can help
We booked 6 cottages for our large group. The staff are friendly and warm. They upgraded one of our cottages free of cost. We had a really late checkout yet Dilip had been courteous enough not to charge us for the extra late checkout. Personally, i had a small breakfast early in the morning that i liked. The place might seem a little run-down requiring some urgent renovation. Frankly, We were a little hesitant when the images on the site didnt compare to the actual. But the upgrades and the service did the deed for us. A sure recommend.
A few minutes from the cliffs in a quiet spot. The cottages are quirky and keep cool in the heat. Nice to sit on the balcony and hang out. But overall I felt the place was a bit run down and lifeless though and repairs needed to the cottages so good to know they’re starting renovations. Dilip and the staff were really nice and helpful but the food service was rather hapless. Great breakfast.
I love to seek out and visit places "less travelled". Varkala Beach is an amazing work of nature with a cliff overlooking the beach. The view is breathtaking from the cliff, not to speak of the beautiful beach itself. And Bohemian Masala is a little gem I found a short distance from the beach. The place has a quaint rustic feel, with huts nestled amongst lush greenery. It is a pleasant feeling to wake up in this setting, especially coming from a city like Mumbai. The resort is right on the road, which leads further down to the beach. There is a little pathway behind the resort, which takes you to the cliff. The hut (a little cottage really) I stayed in had a spacious bedroom with a mosquito net, and functional wood furniture. The ceiling decorated with colourful fabric is a…
