This is my second time staying at karthik Villla and I would never stay anywhere else when I am in Varkala. The location is perfect, 1 minute from the middle of the cliff, but just off a small path which means it isn't noisy. So all the restaurants, shops and the beach is on your doorstep. The accommodation itself is wonderful and great value for money! It is a large room, with 2 beds, one king size and one single. The rooms would be good for families or friends sharing or like myself, on their own. The bed is very comfortable and I slept well every night. There is both a fan and AC and a TV. There is a large bathroom, with shower and hot water, plenty of shelves and also an electric fan. There is a fridge in the room, which is a real bonus for storing snacks or drinks. There is also a water filter, so you have constant fresh drinking water. Outside there is your own private balcony with chairs and also your own hammock. I find this so relaxing, to get away and just chill out whilst on holiday is fab, and laying in the hammock looking at the coconut trees and eagles is amazing. The family that own this place are lovely, and will treat you like family. They are extremely helpful and will help with any questions you have. I honestly can't recommend this place enough. The room was enormous and had a lovely, comfy bed with crisp, clean sheets. Hot shower and air con...everything you need and just a stone's throw from the beach. Two things make this place stand out from the other accomodation in the area: the outside patio area with chairs and hammock and Saji, the owner who epitomises Indian hospitality. I can't wait to come back!

The homestay was very comfortable huge rooms.Therooms are very clean and standardwhite linens.Bathroom also very clean hot shower.Fridge is also very useful.The owners are very friendly.They arrange everything what we need.

Highly recommended place, huge rooms and bathroom, white sheets and soooo clean! The owner helps with whatever you need, tuk tuk taxi anywhere. If she is booked, her sisters place is next to her. 5 minuts from the beach.

There are two bungalows with the owners living next door. We had the air conditioned one which was needed in the April heat. It worked really well but was very noisy. The bathroom was huge but was more like a wet room with the toilet at the far end which was quite dangerous after anyone had been using the shower. Hot water was available if we wanted... We didn't! The owners are lovely. She made us tea every morning and organised a taxi when we needed one. If I have to make one criticism it's that we were there for 5 nights and it wasn't cleaned. We didn't have a towel or bed sheets change and we bought our own toilet paper. Not a big deal I know and in the scheme of things, it was a very good deal. £6 pppn which included the best Wi-Fi of our trip around Kerala. Had a lovely three night stay at Karthik Villa. Had a large clean room with bathroom. Couldn’t have asked for more. The owners live next door and were very helpful in making our stay perfect. There is a hammock outside which is a lovely way to spend time drifting in and out of sleep! The property is set back from the main cliff so is quiet but it’s only a two minute walk to the stairs leading down to the beach. Would happily stay again.

The property was very neat and clean. The rooms were very tastefully decorated. The fridge, AC, TV and ward robes everything worked properly. I was staying with my mother, an old lady, and she was very pleased with the amenities. It was located very near to the cliff. You can reach the cliff in 2 mins from your room. The hosts were very helpful and caring. However, there is a challenge of reaching the destination due to the innumerable allies. It is better if a visitor gives a call to the owner on reaching Varkala. All the major food joints are located within 500 meters radius from the villa. So, food will not be a problem.

located less than 1 minute from the narrow footroad that lines the cliff. we had booked a/c room for 3 adults, it was huuuuuge, even the bathroom was the biggest we have seen in recent past. A bathtub would have been a nice addition.The bunglow is situated in a compound along with 3-4 other homestays (owner has another homestay next door). U cannot actually c the sea from room, its not sea facing as those locations have been occupied various hotels lining the cliff path. Owners are nice couple. Auto will charge 100 rs one way. Got room for 2000 bucks, which as per lady owner goes up till 5000 in high season!! No idea regarding their meals as we prefered to dine on the cliff hotels. Overall a gr8 stay

Good place to stay in Varkala with close proximity to the sea on the cliff and many restaurant options. No parking space available, No TV in the room and No toiletries provided. The bathroom stinks because they haven't put any naphthalene balls or room freshener. Overall, good option to stay but the owners need to take care of a few things.
