Aryavilla heritage is a fantastic place to stay. We have the ideal location, just set back from the Helipad in a quiet area but still close to shops, restaurants, ayurvedic treatments, taxis and tuck tucks. The hotel has 2 balcony rooms, amazing common balcony with hammock and terrace at the rooftop where you can practice yoga and meditation, relax reading something or chatting, or make some funny pictures. Our friendly staff will make your stay easy and comfortable, helping you with all your queries about the place, food, treatments, money exchange, transportation, travelling around etc. Rooms are clean and have ceiling fans, private bathrooms, wardrobes, tables, chairs and double/twin beds. The hotel provides fully equipped shared kitchen, complimentary toiletries and free wi-fi. There is a 24-hour check-in/check-out possibility. For your comfort we can arrange the transfer to our place.

Detailed Reviews
Nice location at the end of the shopping street, close to beach, close to everything. For some reason, no mosquitos here. There was a daily yoga session at rooftop and owners own cookery class at the location.
We had a balcony room, room was big and cleaned every other day. Nothing special about tje roob, basic and clean, big toilet.
Kitchen was free to use at the other building, made my coffee here and cit some feuits. Shared fridge in our building of 3 apartments. Very safe location (I travelled with 2 kids) nice staff and different breakfast daily.

Our room was clean and tidy. The hotel is located within 5 minute walk to the beach. Great service. The staff was very polite and ready to help. It was quiet and cozy, so a good place to chill. Nice, big bed, laundry service available, and everything you might need. Fantastic hotel 🌴👍

The manager of this property is running a payment scam, so please be aware.
Following arrival I was asked for payment, I asked for the amount to be confirmed and asked the manager to confirm that payment would be taken in rupees. He confirmed to me that it would. After the card transaction was completed my card receipt showed that I had been charged in pounds sterling, with of course an increase in my charge. I asked for a credit to be put back on my card and offered to pay cash. He refused to credit my card and refused a correct payment in cash.
He tried to blame his bank and said it was standard practice when customers paid with a foreign credit card.
So, why did he lie to me and why is there no mention of this extra bank charge on their property page.
I am an experienced traveler to India and have never encountered this scam before. It also contradicts the booking sites payment terms which states payments will be made in the local currency.
It is not the amount but the blatant lies and dishonesty. I don’t like dishonest people, it breaks trust. So beware.

Dear Keith, You were charged in INR from our POS machine, we do not have here an option to charge in foreign currencies. We received exactly the amount that you should pay for your booking and we can prove it. It is COMPLETELY OUT of our responsibility and control - what your bank charges from your account, which currency it shows to you, how comes the currency conversion and what percentage you pay to the bank. It is a very hard acquisition for us, we are working here for more than 9 years with no single complaint from the customers about the payments. If you had some difficulties with the currency conversion you could simply pay cash from the beginning. We do not have an immediate refund option which is why we cannot offer you payment change after your card was charged. We have no any intention to say lie to our customers and again we cannot know about YOUR BANK additional charges. Moreover, we pay our own expenses to our bank for this type of transactions and never ask customers to pay more for their own comfort, that is why nothing is mentioned on our page, we pay it ourselves. But we must not pay YOUR bank charges for you. So your words are more than strange as the words of an experienced traveler. We also can call it like you tried to cheat us and push to pay your bank expenses which is completely fair.

I booked a late night stay at Aryavilla and was supposed to come by 12 midnight. However, I would have gotten late and so informed the owner that I will come by 12.30 am. The owner was okay with that. But after we reached, he mentioned that there was a guest coming in at 8am and I had to pay advance money for two days (though I had booked the place for 1 day) for no reason if I have to confirm to stay with Aryavilla. This was non-sensical and when I pointed this out, he started hurling abuses at the middle of the night. Extremely unprofessional and wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here.

Dear Casa Traveller, Unfortunately, it is not possible to understand your name and booking details (at least the date of booking) from your message so that we could give you a detailed answer about the situation. First of all, we never abuse our guests, and we are very sorry if you felt that somehow. We are working in this field for many years and have enough patience for any situation. Moreover, we are very caring about our guests at night as we know that they arrive after a long journey and tired. It is logical that if you arrive at 12:30 AM, and booked the next night, that you will need to pay 1 previous night extra because we have to keep the room available for you. Did I understand you right, that you wanted to stay 1 night at the hotel for free? We never charge the guests without the reason. If you stayed for 2 nights, you need to pay for 2 nights as well, isn't it? Probably when we confirmed your check-in time we understood that you arrive the next day as per booking. Also, it is normal hotel rules about check-in time payment, that should not surprise you. Best regards and all the best wishes.

This is a quaint guest house; extremely neat and clean. -- Each room has a beautiful wall painting based on Vedic astrological constellations - that gives such a calming and happy energy to the room. I stayed in the Magha room which is a single room and loved the energy in it some reason!
The Owner, Suresh is extremely helpful and friendly and helps with any queries and guidance. Both Deewan ,who is mainly around for any work, and Beena, the lady who cooks breakfast and cleans, are also very helpful and beautiful souls.
- Guests are free to make their tea/coffee n even meals when want or keep few things in the fridge which is great as gave me choice of having tea on the hammock outside..also a small patch of garden and trees around.
- Overall this is a very quiet place yet just 2 mins away from the main cliff and helipad so very well located..
All amenities like soap, shampoo, drinking water available. Only hot water is not in all rooms but since the weather is pretty hot here so not needed!
Thanks to Suresh and his staff for making my stay so wonderful!
I recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful stay here..

This place is the best in varkala to stay. The calmness of this place will freshen up the body, mind and soul.Yet this property is very close to the beach . All the restaurants and happening places are a few steps ahead . They have a kitchen too which the visitors can use . The owner Mr. Suresh babu and the manager are very good persons who are always at your help with a cute smile in their face . The room they gave us was tidy and neat with a big drawing place and a beautiful balcony. We enjoyed our stay and will book this place again if we come to Varkala next time.

I checked in with my wife into Arya villa heritage and from the very first moment we were made to feel at home. The rooms were clean and the ambience was a peaceful serenity. What made the stay more complete was the easy access to the beach shops, restaurants and the local attractions. The home cooked food was a treat to eat . The owner as well as the staff were extremely helpful and was ready at your beck and call

First of all I will not go judgemental. I will just narrate my experience rest is on the reader to decide.
My mistake was I made the booking through Booking.com. I prefer paying before I start my travel. I do not prefer carrying cash nor do I carry ATM card but I generally carry few thousand cash with me.
Now the story goes like this- I made the booking through Booking.com and tried my best to pay upfront. They did not have any provision to pay before you reach the hotel/ homestay. Now as I mentioned before I do not carry debit card with me and just had enough cash I preferred a account transfer. It is not a rocket science that if you transfer money by adding some account to your bank beneficiary it takes some time to transfer. And this is what I told Mr. Suresh, the owner. I was supposed to pay for the water bottles that we used, so I preferred to transfer the amount on the morning we were checking out leaving very less for cash payment.
Mr. Suresh started doubting us on this matter and if I quote him verbatim this is what he said, "No screenshot of you sending money will we accept. You can leave only once I receive the money in my account".
I have full respect for Mr. Suresh and they way he serves his guests but on this occasion it was utter insulting for any guest. I have read multiple visitors speaking nice things about him and I personally have no doubt in it. He tried to the best of his capacity to help us on different other occasions but you have no right to insult your guest Mr. Suresh! He mentioned he had some previous bad experience but I expect as a learned person he must know how normal bank transactions work and those who have cheated him previously have done it definitely in some pre-planned way.
However as a guest I deeply regret my decision to book Aryavilla Heritage as my place of stay and will not want any of my friends, acquaintances, colleagues to stay there only because none of them will want to get insulted by the owner.
Now coming to general feedback- though tough to find this is really a calm place to stay. Keep in mind this is not a hotel so you do not get a TV or AC. They do not serve food, and there is a 2 feet narrow lane which connects the hotel to the helipad walking by which you get access to several restaurants. Since it was monsoon that narrow lane was full of mud and water so it was difficult for us to use it mainly after it was dark.
The lights in the room were very dull though we were told that most visitors like it, we did not actually like.
To summarise I would have loved to put a 5 but only because of what happened I can't put more than 3.

Dear Mr Sayantan M, First of all, thank you for choosing our hotel and staying with us. Also, we appreciate your time spending for writing a review. We could no way push you for the payment as you must be aware from the beginning that you have to pay your stay at the hotel. We asked to do this before you leave and we wanted to see the money at our account before you leave, that is our right and all the question. We could never think that it will cause a lot of troubles and disappoinment for you. As to TV, AC, food and other facilities - please be more attentive when you choose a hotel. We never mentioned these facilities in any site and this is very strange that you expected them here. All the best wishes for you and your family for the next travelling, Suresh and Katya
