Detailed Reviews
I was staying the almost whole April in 2014 in this nice quiet hotel. All staff there is so helpful and friendly. The restaurant offers very good food and drinks. The pool is very clean. The rooms are cosy. The Hotel is located behind the beach and restaurants at the back of the North Cliff.
The rooms could a little bit cleaner, but for India is it very clean. :-) Just recommendable.

The hotel was clean and basic, but there was not much hot water in the bathroom. The Restaurant Manager Dor from Nepal was friendly and helpful and the Hotel Manager Dilip was good.
The main problem was that on the Expedia website the hotel was advertised as having free breakfast. When I showed this to Dilip he said the hotel did not provide free breakfast. I contacted Expedia who got it completely wrong, contacted them again and have not received a reply.

We stayed here for three weeks in December and had a very pleasant stay. The room was bright and airy with a view of the pool. All areas of the hotel were kept clean and tidy. The staff were all very helpful, particularly Dilip, the Manager who was happy to recommend places to visit and answer our many varied questions. The hotel is located in a quiet area a short distance from the cliff but within easy reach of all the restaurants and amenities and makes a perfect base in Varkala.

irst after checking in the room did not have running water. It was not until 4 hours that we finally got some flow. The next morning big surprise of no breakfast, even as it is mentioned twice in the listing. Blamed all people but took no responsibility for the problem. At least Expedia helped after their cheap attitude. NO HOT WATER EVER. There is an unwritten rule, where guests can not have visitors for more than five minutes. They call the room and then come to the door like thugs to make your friends leave.. you can talk with them at the restaurant they tell. Then finally the charge extra if paying with card. 3% additional charge for a room that already was overpriced

First impressions are great - place looks great from the entrance. Rooms not good though. The beds are extremely hard, it's what I'd imagine a prison bed is like! The bed linen was stained, and there was no blanket - just a single top sheet.
The shower was poor, no hot was and water pressure was only a drizzle. The bathroom itself was grubby.
Plenty of dead flies collecting in the common areas. The whole place just felt dirty.
The pool was nice - but the pool area looked like a bit of an unfinished building site.
About a four minute walk to the north cliff.

Stayed here for just over two weeks and had a very relaxing and pleasant stay.
The rooms are simple but kept spotlessly clean. The bed was firm and very comfortable and the shower room was quite spacious and there was always hot water available. Sheets were changed every couple of days.
The location is great. It's less than five minutes walk to the cliff where all the shops and restaurants are yet totally quiet when you want complete tranquillity. My only criticism would be the burning of rubbish nearby every afternoon which made it less pleasant lying relaxing by the pool.
The hotel does get busier at weekends with groups of quite noisy young Indian lads coming to Varkala from the city. It's a shame that some of them take bottles of beer into the pool with them and generally make it less pleasant to relax by the pool but this is only one day each week out of seven so it didn't really spoil my stay.
The pool was a real selling point for me. Fabulously peaceful, kept immaculately clean (despite the constant dropping of bamboo leaves into the pool which the pool boy immediately removed) and much of the time the only company had had to share the pool with were the crows. You do have to watch the crows though if you order any food from the restaurant to eat by the pool - they rather like Vegetable Pakoras - so don't turn your back on them for even two seconds!! :-)
The staff were all very friendly and helpful and if I visit Varkala again then I would certainly stay here.

We spent a few nights here in low season so we got it for a very good price. The hotel is modern and our standard fan double room was clean and comfortable. The resturant/room service was not available during low season which was a bit of a pain!
The swimming pool was fun and a great relief from the hot weather. The security guards were friendly and always looked out for us to make sure we got back safe!

This is a comfortable hotel, air con worked and staff were helpful. Our towels were dirty and stained when we arrived, they changed immediately. The groups in the other rooms also had dirty sheets, and they changed them with sheets that were still stained/dirty.
The pool was too dirty for us to swim in, luckily they are part of a 3 hotel complex, and there's a nice pool down the road we were able to use.If I'm honest, I think we got the worst pick out of the 3.
The place was decent to sleep in, it was quiet and comfortable - but there isn't really anything else to offer with this one.

Was going to stay there but after we saw them burning plastic in the backyard decided against it. Even though there have been numerous complaints against them i guess they paid off the cops. This has an ayurvedic centre on their premises...shame on them...
