Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
The service was very good and the room was fine with a nice balcony facing west with a sea view. the receptionist was very helpful. The ABBA Restaurant was excellent and we enjoyed breakfast overlooking the sea with people walking past to shop or go down to the beach. There were about 50 steps down to the beach but it was well worth it. I enjoyed several swims. in the evening we enjoyed cocktails while watching the sun go down before dinner.

Green Palace is a wonderful place to enjoy Varkala. Situated in the heart of Varkala cliffs it offers big, modern, clean rooms with A/C and all comfort you need. The stuff offers perfect service and is tremendous friendly. From the balcony you enjoy a stunning view on the arabian sea- if you‘re lucky, you can see dolphins passing by. Wi-fi works reliable. Attached to Green Palace you find the georgious restaurant ABBA, that offers you fantastic meals (Indian, Chinese, Tibetan, Israeli ...), with fresh fish and all you desire. Another good thing is: although situated in the heart of Varkala Beach on top of the cliff, it is a calm place!

My friend and I stayed at the Green Palace from February 2nd to the 5th 2020. It was the perfect location along the Varkala Cliffs and the restaurant (ABBA) connected to it is amazing! We completely relaxed here with swims in the morning followed by a leisurely fantastic breakfast with tons of choices. Vineeth greeted us and was not worried by the discrepancy of when we were to arrive. The rooms were comfortable with AC which is a must. We had a lovely balcony looking out over ABBA and the Arabian Sea. So beautiful! Vineeth (nickname Vinnie) was extremely helpful and organized a driver for us and gave us help with places we wanted to go. His smiling happy face was always there when we came and went. I would stay here again!

HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE! We met the staff (and owner) and booked a room in Green Palace and told them that we will be staying there for 2 days, and might extend more. Post that, same day we got to know that they have accepted another booking for next day, without even confirming with us. When we confronted the staff, they put it on us that we had not confirmed already (we specifically mentioned that we need 2 days atleast) and they were getting other bookings. Because of that, our whole vacation got ruined. We had to spend hours finding another good place.
Location is good, owner is a really nice person, but we are really disappointted with the mismanagement by their staff. Also, no help was provided by them to either rectify their mistake or to help us find another place. Hope they understood how difficult it gets for a family to make other arrangements on such short notice.
Rooms were okay, some maintenance is required, but really you are paying for that location.
Defintely not booking Green Palace again.

Its location is great. Reasonably near to the helipad in cliff. Multiple access points nearby to the main beach. Car parking is also available.
But facilities within the hotel are nothing great. The rooms are neat and well-maintained. Not very spacious. The balconies on the ground floor open to cacophony on the restaurant on the friend. May be balconies are better on the upper floor. No seaview from ground floor rooms.
Haven't tried the in-house restaurant. But plenty of options to dine nearby on the cliff.
Staff are helpful and courteous, which what nudged my rating to four stars.

Four of us stayed at Green Palace in January 2017, January 2018 and January 2020 and hopefully will stay again. For us staying at Green Palace is like being at home. We don´t need to write much about Green Palace because acts speak more than words and staying in this hotel three times in a row is a confirmation of quality, cleanliness, organization and great service. Especially big thanks to our Vineeth who makes our stay perfect every time. And thanks to ABBA restaurant team which is always smiling and gives you a good vibe.

Location is great with sea view visible from first floor rooms. Located on the cliff, it's the last stop where car can enter (frontal) beyond this hotel the lanes are narrow. Their restaurant is pretty good and staff is courteous.

Green Palace is a beautiful hotel, the rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable, a/c is an option. Each room has a beautiful balcony with a sea view. The staff is very friendly. Abba restaurant has delicious food and the waiters are the best around. I highly recommend staying here.

This is good when compared with other properties nearby, it is middle of cliff walkway.. Nice view and a open restaurant, food is ok.. but they overcharged it seems. They serve alcohol and this is the good thing, facing sea and have a drink. Probably will enjoy with groups and not any speciality otherwise

The property is on the Cliff best and in budget property. It has good view of the sea. It offers continental in the restaurant which is fairly one of the best on the Cliff. Kiran was very helpful. You can spend much of ur time sitting ideal on the balcony looking sea. The restaurant is a happening place and a must try.
