Got to stay here for a night with friends & had opted for a deluxe room. The stay was awesome. Beach was just in front of the resort & had a nice sit out to enjoy the view along with a hammock. Food was tasty & priced reasonable, though the menu had limited options. Rooms were very spacious, clean & had a sit out to view the beach & the garden area. Staffs over there were friendly & guided us in all possible ways. They allowed us to extend the checkout timings, which was very helpful. They even provide Ayurvedic massage at a reasonable price. Only con is that no TV was provided & also the way to this place is bit difficult to get through, as google map suggested path led to the other side of the place & not the main entrance. Overall I would suggest this place for all, especially couples, who would like to spend good time away from the crowd, in the beach.

Property is located right on the beach, south of varkala. It is  away(4-5kms approx) from busy north cliff. Since we have visited in off season, even the north cliff is deserted. So now you can imagine how the south beach will be. They have different category of rooms ie: Standard/Deluxe/Super Deluxe/Superior Deluxe, we have stayed in Superior deluxe which is in 2nd floor. Only this category rooms comes with AC and you will have great view of beach from your balcony. All time you will be hearing the sea wave sound and only sea wave sound. They have a friendly staff, but apart from the Manager Mr.Sujith and Mr.Lal others are not well versed in English. But it will not be a problem to request for basic queries.   They have a vegetarian restaurant but they will help you in getting Lunch and Dinner from the nearby hotel (they will show you the menu card and you can order accordingly). Breakfast is complementary and it is okay. Since we have went in off season, even for a coffee/tea they will go an buy milk only after our order and it doesn’t matter. They can arrange bike for rent and you can wander around varkala on your own. Do not forget to check kapil beach. You will have lot of hotels in north cliff, but staying here doesn’t give you as much choices if you do not have bike or own vehicle. The pLAce is very calm, since it is remotely placed and of off season we dint try exploring the nearby places by walk. Way to reach the resort is not up to mark and there is no sign boards.   Now coming to the most important thing ie: THE NAME OF THE HOTEL. In some sites, it is mentioned as Raja Ayurveda resort/Salient Beach Resort/True Blue beach Resort. The exact name of the hotel is TRUE BLUE BEACH RESORT, earlier it was SALIENT Beach resort. They have their own Ayurveda centre and it is Raja Ayurveda Centre.   They also have a inhouse ayurveda doctor who is friendly and understanding. We tried their ayurveda massage and it was like “WOWW”, try it if you visit there. Since it was off season we got it at discounted price. We have heard that it will be very busy during Season. Rooms are very spacious and themed in White color. Balcony with Lovely view, overall Great Stay to relax and rejuvenate..!! Pros: Location Rooms Service Ayurveda Centre and trained staffs   Cons: Route to Reach the resort No Nearby Shops Dependency on Vehicle Food options

I was in search of some tranquility and found Salient as the best place for me. It is located right on the beach. I had a standard room and found it most convenient for myself. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

A quite pleasant hotel in many respects but I went out of season so there was literally no one else there. The beach was a bit of a mess with what the rains and storms had brought in. There was a lot of standing water and lots of mud which didn’t bode well. I found it miles from anywhere, certainly far too remote for me and getting anywhere was very difficult indeed. Maybe in the season it is much better but I didn’t like the remoteness of the place. Being the only person there the facilities and restaurant was non existent. The owner/manager was a great guy very chilled out about everything so my comments are not a reflection on him.

A serene location away from hustle and bustle of famous Cliff Hotels. Spend your time in leisure listening waves crashed in the shore, a truly sea view Resort. Take a stroll in almost private beach in the evening, Enjoy spicy Keralian Food, get warmth by the most courteous behaviour by the stuff I have ever experienced, Feel your home in their clean and neat room decorated by the mosquito net. We travelled with our 10 months old baby and no problem faced.

Away from the main hustle and bustle of the town, based on the south beach of Varkala, this beach resort is perfect. Staff are friendly and do anything for you. Rooms are clean, mosquito nets, comfy beds. Nice to take the walk back along the beach after the evening, but mind out for the crabs.

We have enjoyed every minute of our stay. The view from the balcony overlooking the ocean is beautiful, the garden is green and well kept. But what makes Salient worth while returning is the warm and good care of the staff and the amazing indian food. The cook learnt traditional Keralan cooking from his grandmother and he is passing It on wonderfully! All the food is made freshly so It takes around half an hour waiting but its really worth while!!! Tip: order your food in advance. Thanks to all the hard working, always smiling and very helpful crew! We come back at the end of our holiday! Love, Peter & Mariska

We had a very pleasant stay at this resort made even better by the super friendly staff. Akhil was a great host with much knowledge of the surrounding areas. Would highly recommend this resort if you want to be far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the town but still close enough to walk to to get in on the action!

Stay was pleasant and service was good. However after we returned back home some random guy not from the salient management team started to threaten us to pay without presenting the bill. I initially acknowledged his message thinking my wife or my friends must have used the service but I found out it's bogus and stopped responding to his messages. Personal details are highly confidential. It's abnoxious to share it with anyone for that matter. I'm quite disappointed with the team for sharing my contact details...
