A lovely place! The property is spacious with lots of places to hang out or to practice yoga, relax in a hammock... Their food is tasty and affordable, beds are very comfy and it is clean. What this place makes special however are the owners and their staff. Everyone is very caring and friendly. They put great effort in comforting every guest!
We stayed for 2 nights during our Andaman Vacation. The stay was warm and nice. Food was very good, great selection & service was efficient & pleasant. I really enjoyed the breakfast. And front office staff is verry helpful .good experience and amazing food.. I wish you good future ahead
Friendly place with great owner who makes this place very special. I stayed in Coral Cove many times and will definitely be back there when Im in Varkala next time. Good location, spacious rooms, and the most importantly great atmosphere. Rahul, the owner, makes this place very informal and friendly. It feels like home :) I certainly miss it a lot!
It's been almost 2 months since we left this place, but we still felt like we needed to give it a well deserved review! We stayed here for 5 nights and had a great time. The owner was really nice and helpful and we loved the fact that we were able to use a kitchen for a change. Somehow you start to miss doing a bit of cooking for yourself after months of travelling and eating out 3 times a day. The location is good, 2 small shops just around the corner and a 5 minute walk to the cliffside. The rooms were spacious and clean. We do have one piece of advice (although the owner will probably remind you of this as well): be ware of keeping your shoes or flip flops outside. Some guests fail to close the gate at night so the neighbouring dog just might come in and ruin your footwear.
I stayed here for 3 nights with my partner and we were really happy with our stay. The owner was very friendly and gave us lots of advice about varkala and things to look out for. The rooms were clean and spacious and the bed was really comfy. The location was perfect...its close to the main cliff area (about 5 mins walk), but far enough away that it was quiet and peaceful. I highly recommend it.
We stayed here for 3 nights and had a great stay. The place is very clean and tidy, has a lovely outdoor area with shade to cover from the sun and plenty of chairs. It's set back from the North Cliff so nice and quiet, but only a short distance, around 7 mins walk to the cliff and the beach. We stayed in a private room which was pretty big, bed linen, towels and comfy pillows. We didn't see the dorms but heard from other travelers it is very clean and nice. Would go back and stay next time we are in Varkala
I stayed here two weeks; the dorm was very comfortable and quiet. There's a clean kitchen you can use to cook your own food and a nice sitting area in the front of the hotel. Made many new friends here. Most people do yoga or some kind of course and go to sleep early so the dorm was always quiet. The rooms looked nice too. The manager Rahul is super friendly and good to talk to; always helping people. Felt like a second home.
This is a great guesthouse, where the highlight is the staff who are incredibly friendly, helpful and entertaining. It's a very relaxed spot with great access to some of the back streets of Varkala, where all the best tasting and best priced food hangouts are. always being on the cliff near the beach can be tiresome in such a small town. The staff will also help out with proper admin/travel stuff. rooms and beds are spacious and you can get laundry and food sorted easily. great option and as i said the staff make the place a really good call.
I stayed here for two weeks and it was perfect!! Staff always helping, nice reception and there was a guy always helping me with everything, going to the city for free, pick up for yoga class. Just perfect time with them :)
I cancelled my booking from booking.com. Then called the following day to rebook as I really wanted to see Varkala before leaving India. In Trivandrum I was told the bus will be in two hours and I need to take 2 - 3 buses to get to Varkala. I didn't know about the alternative of using the Rs30 train. Tuktuk rickshaw drivers quoted me between Rs800 - Rs1500 to take me to Varkala from Trivandrum. So i was truly grateful when I called the hotel that Ranjid could come pick me up. I had to pay Rs500 for diesel and it was a pleasant drive. He shared with me the awesome things they have at the resort - daily yoga, gym, cooking classes and 2 minutes walk from the beach. What a cool one stop shop. I was super excited. When we arrived within minutes of introduction Rahul, Ranjid's business partner asked how I will settle the bill. They don't have card facilities therefore I need to go to ATM. That should have been a warning bell. Not welcome how was your trip. You sounded very lost etc. Not even offer me a glass of water or food since he was having lunch. I asked if I can check in, freshen up, find food and then look for an ATM if that's okay. My room was big well lit, with a wall view of the nearby building. The wall on the head of the bed was dirty with smudges, the bathroom tiles were wet, toilet sprayer was leaking. When I told Rahul he said they would fix it later. There was no toilet paper. They asked me to buy my own. I had to clean the room in order to feel comfortable. The walk to the beach in the heat FELT too far. Later walking back in the dark streets maze from the beach to Coral Cove was very uncomfortable and scary. I decided I need to move closer to the cliff and beach front activities. Back in the room there was a sheet covering the mattress but no extra sheet for sleeping in. Hello! I went downstairs to ask for sheets, or blanket, or towel anything really. I received a sheet and small throw. This shall do thank you. In order not to walk on a wet bathroom floor I used the bucket to collect the dripping water and flush the toilet with it. In the morning eager to get to the rooftop gym. I was very disappointed to realise that the "gym" only had two unassembled dusty machines on the far corner which were not ready for use. The yoga studio left a lot to be desired. Coral Cove Beach Resort... Mmhhhh what a fancy name when I called I asked for sea view windows and was told the rooms are not available. This is a walk through a maze to get to the beach. There were no sheets, no towels, no toilet paper, dripping toilet sprayer and dirty walls. Rahul and Ranjid sounded nice when I checked in eager for business especially as I'm staying for 1.5 week. In the morning when I wanted to settle last night's bill and check out Rahul was very distant and cold. He kept asking how many nights I stayed wanting to charge for two nights. I settled my Rs650 for the night walked out the door excited about staying at a very clean cliff Bamboo Village with a spectacular sea view for Rs500.…
