Nightmare. I had booked a room for 9th-12March, 3 weeks prior to my date of arrival. I was given a call on 2nd March which I missed and I returned the call 6 times on 2nd and 3rd March -all either unanswered or cut after I said hello. I also left messages asking them about the reason for contacting me. I called again on 4th March only for Satta to say that they were checking the status of my reservation and that it was not confirmed. They had no explanation and stopped answering my calls and sent me an email of cancellation or payment. The only option to pay was by calling the property, and because they'd stopped answering, it was basically an arbitrary cancellation. Three days before I was to reach the property. And I found out only because I called multiple times.

Basic but nice hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cleaned regularly. Small plunge pool in pleasant garden. Peaceful. Can hear the waves from Odayam Beach. Would go there again definitely. Can walk along the beach and path in about half an hour.

Good location. You can either walk up to the cliff via the beach, and meet the fishermen early morning, or easily get a rikshaw at night for ex. Indian breakfast was good, they do serve cereals as well. Room (Cottage without AC) was lovely and comfy enough, nature-like atmosphere, clean and nice view from the private balcony (though not on the beach / only 3 minutes walking). I recommend the place.

We enjoyed our stay at Satta Beach Residence, in their new deluxe rooms, with a large pool which was a wonderful to refresh. It is approximately a five km walk to the cliff which made a great morning walk . Breakfast and meals available were delicious a freshly cooked and Blue Waters restaurant on the waterfront was a two minute walk. Unni was a great help and organised massages (which were excellent), trip to Munro Island and a house boat all at good prices. A pleasant stay and worth a visit

Satta was an absolute surprise! We were 14 friends who stayed for one night at this resort. The property is very well maintained. Rooms are well kept and clean. The beach is just 1/2 a min walk, away from the commercial bits of varkala. Unni was extremely helpful and a great host. Highly recommended!

Satta Beach is located around a 25 minute from the main cliffs where all the restaurants and shops are. We shared a private room with an en-suite and AC. While the room is pretty basic, it has everything we needed for our two night stay. I think the standout element of the hotel is the complimentary breakfast served on the veranda in the morning. With a choice of 4 options (English, American, Indian & Russian) there is something for everyone to choose from and it was really delicious. However, if you are looking to stay somewhere where the scene is more lively I would recommend a hotel in North Cliff so you don’t have to walk back and forth to the main beach everyday. Of course, if you are looking for a quieter retreat away from the party scene at a very reasonable price, Satta Beach is great.

Arrived late and they kindly accommodated our booking error and provided a different room with an extra bed for my daughter.Great breakfast provided and a five minute walk down to the beachfront is a charming restaurant where three of us ate for under £10.00. They were really helpful and organised a massage and transport for our departure. Satta beach is a really peaceful place to stay but a stones throw away from the more lively and stunning beach at Varkala.

Lovely clean modern rooms as I stayed in the deluxe rooms. Excellent, helpful and friendly staff. Right next to the beach and restaurants and only 10 minutes from Varkala Cliff. Bikes available to hire. Very peaceful location, nice to relax.

We had a lovely 1 week holiday here over Christmas. It was a perfect location , a few minutes walk to the beach and to Varkala Cliff . Unni who runs this small hotel was always very helpful. Nothing was to much trouble. We had dinner here one evening, vegetarian thali which I can highly recommend!! Delicious! Everything about our room was perfect for our needs , very clean , air conditioning and enough space . We had breakfast on our little patio every morning with our masala tea. For the price we paid , it was fantastic value. I would definitely stay here if ever I was in Varkala. Thanks Unni for making our stay so easy .

The main plus point of this hotel is that it’s a short 5 min walk from black beach (which is quieter than Varkala beach) and a 15 min walk from Varkala Cliff (which is where all the places to eat are). The hotel itself is quite basic, and there is no hot water in the shower! If you’re planning to be at the beach all day then it might not matter! Service from staff was very good!
