Very kind, charming and welcoming hosts.
Beautiful pool right next to Odayam beach with a stunning view and sunset vibes at the poolside.
Otherwise they also run a cute café with a variety of drinks.
We had a great time relaxing here at Magnolia Guest House!

The Magnolia guest house has a high quality resort character - with well kept grounds and garden with lots of beautiful flowers and an inviting pool.
The rooms are light and bright with delicate linnen and the bathroom is beautifully tiled.
We enjoyed the friendly and personal contact with the owners as well as the attentive service of the staff. We particularly enjoyed the New Year Eve's event with excellent dinner and a great show (including dance and drummers).
The Magnolia guest house has a good restaurant where we took most meals during our stay.
A beautiful and quiet clean beach is only few meters away with additional dining opportunities.

We stayed in a two bedroom cottage: perfect for a family of four. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean; annoyingly, the shower made the whole bathroom wet.
The rooms were just a two minute walk from Odayam beach, which was small and clean. The guesthouse restaurant served good fresh food, so there was sometimes a bit of a wait.
You could not hear the road from our room, but the nearby mosque woke us up in the early hours of the morning with its sunrise call to prayer.
We enjoyed using the pool, it was convenient when it was too hot to be on the beach.
Overall it was a lovely place, brilliant if you want to spend time on the beach, but not necessarily if you want to get extra sleep. We would definitely recommend it to other families.

Great Stay !. Its a comfortable property next to the beach ( 1 min walk) . The owner and the staff are courteous and helpful.
Our room had a good view of the beach with sound of waves mesmerizing all thru the stay !
Food is always cooked fresh so ensure you order 20 mins in advance :) .
The Cliff is about 7-10 mins walk along the beach , alternatively you can ask for a Auto Rikshaw ( the staff can call it for you) , that charges 150/- INR and will drop you in similar time.

This place has two small pools ( one Private with Villa & the other Open for all), enough for a lazy dip.

Overall a perfect place if you desire a pool and a stay a little away from the hustle of the Cliff.

Special thanks to Gautam who made our stay more comfortable!

Varkala Cliff and the nearby hotels, resorts are very hectic in nature. So if you like to settle down in a Serene, Calm and Quiet atmosphere, enjoying every moment of your vacation or holiday, Magnolia Guest House is the best place you can choose. It's near to Odayam Beach, it's just a walk of 100m and you can choose to see the sunrise or sunset as per your convenience. If you want to take a bath on the beach, it's near to you, just go and do it! When it comes to welcoming, the manager Mr Ameersha and his staff are really nice. I checked in with my family, the suite room is amazing for the price and the facilities. Even there is a pool facility where anyone can have a good time as we choose. Then there is a small grocery shop where you can buy all the basic products you require during your stay. Even the restaurant, cafe magnolia serves good breakfast and dinner. I felt so peaceful with the overall atmosphere and the services I availed during my one week stay!

15 mins down from Varkala Cliff, the Magnolia is relaxed and chilled - away from traveller central up the hill. Excellent spacious rooms, fab pool, good breakfasts and really friendly staff. Seconds from the beaches and restaurants. Thanks Ameersha and co. for super stay.

Although the website says a ‘Guesthouse’ this is definitely not one. This is more like a boutique resort. So lets stick to calling it simply Magnolia!

Close to Odayam Village, Magnolia is tucked in the quaint lanes of Varkala, a short rickshaw ride away from North Cliff. It has huge rooms with private sit out area that overlooks the garden space or for some on the plus one level – overlooking the sea.
The rooftop terraces of these rooms are again, very spacious.

Magnolia also has a gorgeous swimming pool. Here’s a picture.

There is a dedicated staff that looks after the needs of the guests.
Room service is also available.

Upon arrival here we were assisted by Sameer with the check in and we were Room was spacious. Even the bathroom was quite spacious.
Our terrace had a partial sea view so on the evening we sat there chilling with a hot cuppa chai.
It was very peaceful in the morning as well as there are a variety of trees and plants at the property which attracts a lot of birds. So the birdwatcher in me was quite happy.

They have a restaurant that serves multi-cuisine food.
There is a mini-market / shop within the premise so that for anything missed or any last minute purchase can be done here and you don’t have to go all the way to the market.
The owner was very helpful and although our travel dates changed a few times he accommodated us happily. Made sure we were comfortable.
The staff was very attentive they assisted us with the even fetching a rickshaw.

Pros: Spacious rooms, Peaceful settings
Cons : Breakfast could do with some improvement.
Note : There is no television in the room.

This place feels like home. From the outside this looks small and cramped. But once inside, you will be amazed at the size of the rooms and the facility offered.

Travelled with my wife and two boys (10 yrs & 8yrs). Opted for the Deluxe sea view room. The room is quite big, with two double beds and a large bathroom. Then the balcony.... such a huge balcony overlooking the sea. We spent most of our time in the balcony just lazing around and reading. The terrace is accessible too. It has got some stone benches for groups to spend time.

Their food is awesome and their service is really good. Particularly the person John.. who was available round the clock for my beck and call.

The pool is adequate and maintained well. Also forms a good backdrop for the photo shoots.

This place is pretty close to the beach and the balcony provides a good view of the sea as well. Just walk 100steps to the beach and take a walk along the shore where you can find a path amidst the rocks to access the beach. Surprised to know that it was a black soil beach, which is quite a rarity.

Their owner is very friendly and he has been coordinating with me 1 week before my stay itself. Even after checkin , he frequently checked with me about my satisfaction level. He helped me with a bike for visiting the aquarium and cliff.

Perfect for all kinds of people, especially families. Even group of families can go and have privacy along with good group time.

This property is marvellous for several reasons :
* very close to a nice beach. Contrary to the cliff, you don't have to walk a lot of stairs. Quiet and relaxing beach
* very nice pool, clean and sunny
* staff super friendly. I intended to cook for my kids. they provided me everything to do so and helped me.
* good restaurant : I cooked twice, but the restaurant was so good I ended up ordering food at restaurant. Fresh fish cooked with butter lemon garlic. Delicious ! Breakfast also very good.
* Accomodation was beautiful, lot of space, nice terrasse, perfectly clean, beautiful surroundings, garden with hamocs. 2 bedrooms were cleaned every day.
* Staff helpful with rickshaw or cab booking, at a good price.
* minimarket and nice shop with beautiful clothes and jewellry next to the hotel
* I have been in more than 30 hostels in India and magnolia is the best quality / value proposal I have found.

We just stayed for 3 nights at Magnolia Guest House, from the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Sha and George! The rooms are spacious, bright and cheery and spotless with lovely bathrooms. It also has a great little pool which is wonderful after a day out or at the beach. The restaurant served wonderful breakfasts, all freshly cooked to order and served by lovely staff! The guest house is about 5/10mins in a tuk tuk ( there’s always one around) to Varkala Cliff which is full of great shopping and restaurants and only a minutes walk to the beach. We had a fantastic time and can’t wait to come back! Thank you so much!!!
