Initially we found it a little difficult to find this place, but the host was super nice! He came looking for us, when we reached close to the place. This was really a nice gesture. Overall the stay is basic, but comfortable. It has all the basic amenities needed. And the extra things if you need any, you just need to give a call to the host. The highlight of the stay was the view from the terrace of the place. It is so calm and peaceful! I highly recommend this stay in Varkala.
Of course My Home in Varkala! I have stayed in many hotels all over the world but this hotel indeed is a Mother Palace! Big AC room spacious and a balcony that gave a majestic view of the sea! I spent hours there sitting in the balcony! Moreover it is as comfy as Home. Food is great. Soecially the tea! And breakfast. Vishnu the guy at the hotel is a lovely energetic young fellow. Always with a smile on his lips and ready to help for anything! Vishnu, you are just too good man! Best place to stay in Varkala, I bet! Also excellent for solo travelers like me! So much peace there! It is my second time. I will come back again.
A Home in Varkala! Excellent Beach Resort! The Location is just unbelievable. From the terrace you can have magnificent view of the sea! Just 2 mins from the beach cliff and the Tibetan market is a pleasure to walk. Varkala is Mini Europe. The hotel is amazing for solo and couples and foreigners! Spotless clean and big spacious room. Thiju the host is a great young fellow too much helpful and always smiling and just like a friend! Thanks Thiju! I would be back to Varkala and any time I would stay here! I am in love with Varkala!
We used their laundry service and it was the worst service we've ever had. They misscoloured our clothing and afterwards they had the guts to tell us that our clothing was misscoloured before they washed it and after a while they blamed the other clothing (I had an old brown t-shirt that does not colour but my girlfriend didnt even had anything blue - my cloths were red and hers were blue). We didn't even ask them to repay/replace the ruined clothing but we didn't want to pay for the bad service. After not owning up to their mistake and literaly laughing in our face the owner/manager gave us 170 rupees (you can barely even get a new t-shirt for that) and just left. I don't know how they run their hotel busniess but since it's the same persons involved I can only imagine it's terrible. Stay away from this place!…
vey nice hotel run by two very friendly guys (Rohit and Tiju). was room 108. Very good location near the beach and near the namasthe ayurvedic center where you can have yoga lesson and massage. room are big and clean. the wifi work 24/7.
I stayed at Mothers Palace for 4 nights. Wifi in the rooms. The staff were very friendly and happy to help with any requests. Room was nice and clean and a great view onto the beach. Showers are hot all the time and actually out of shower not just hot water out of the tap. Cheap for what it was and would definitely stay again.
My cousin and I stayed there for two days and I can vouch on the comfort and safety provided by the owners. There are two guys who manage the hotel and they helped us in feeling comfortable and safe . We didn't have money and in order to draw money we had to go to the town which is 3 kms away from the hotel at night . One of them went with us till the ATM and back just to ensure our safety. The rooms are spacious and affordable. Near to the main market and restaurants. Easily accessible and great hospitality. This review came a little late but Thanks for taking such good care of us :)
The rooms are quite basic and clean. Location is central, just few steps from the cliff. There are several bars/restaurants front of the Mother palace and when they play some music there, they do it on indian way - so as loud as possible! That can be really annoying if you want to go to bed early. Staff were friendly for us and they were really taking care of the property. So only big minus is the noise from nearby bars/restaurants. Wifi was working quite ok, but they had to reset the router once in a while.
This is only my second review Ive written, the other one was extremely positive, but I feel compelled to write it because the staff were so rude, aggressive and imposing. They'd often follow us into our room, demand passports, payment and to fill out forms (3 different forms in total?) just as we'd arrive in sweating and exhausted. When we said we'll bring the passports out shortly we were told if we didn't we could find another room? One time I left the room the guy was standing right outside our room, at the door, there was no need for him to be there? When we accidentally wore our shoes in the reception we were told to get them off, no please or thank you. The place is clean and tidy but we felt uncomfortable the whole time and nervous that we'd get told off or do something wrong!…
Stayed here a couple of times. Rooms are good, decent size and clean. Wifi good, fridge and kitchen available on ground floor. Location is near to everything but surrounded by restaurants so it can be noisy at times, especially if Chill Out/Charlies is having party and loud music nights. Staff is good but sometimes not around.
