We had eight wonderful days at the Maadathil Cottages. The spot is officially at Edava which is a small town north of Varkala. Maadathil Cottages are located directly at the beach about 15-20 min walk from the Varkala North Cliff. Thus, it is completely out...More
We stayed here for 3 nights in Dec 2017 and really loved it. There is a very special calm atmosphere. The cottages are spacious and well furnished with space to sit outside in the evenings. The restaurant food is freshly cooked and we would usually...More

They do serve cuisines of Kerala (i've no idea what's Kerakan food though!), but it might be very limited in option. if you need more food options, you can always visit the Varkala Cliff which is 2/3 Kms away. There are two roads one is proper tar road where you can bike or drive and another absolutely walk-able road along the shore (i'd take this one). Many restaurants there serve multiple lip smacking cuisines.

"Take the Deluxe Cottages for a longer stay. They are definitely more spacious than the standard cottages."
