"Keratheeram" is a very special guest house with its architecture alined with nature and thinking of your comfort. Cleanness and your comfort is our top priority. Come and visit us for a few stolen days from paradise in a friendly environment! During the day, you can benefit from our green garden, by resting on one hammock, reading your book, drinking your smoothies and and when it is the season, you can eat some good fruits from the trees :) Also we are growing our own tomatoes, green salads and parsley. Other than our garden, we have a roof top terrace where you can sit and relax in front of the ocean view. We tried to create a relaxing place with lots of books in many international languages, a good music and couple of board games for fun.t's a place where you can socialize with other people and make friends from all over the world. Also in the sunrises and sunsets, you can do your daily Yoga routine.

We stayed at Keratheeram for 11 nights. The rooms were small but there was a nice balcony outside each room. The location is great- very close to the restaurants and shops and the beach. The owners and staff were very nice. The rooms were clean when we arrived and then cleaned only once more during our stay. This was disappointing as they could have used another cleaning. The rooftop patio is a great place to relax- although this area too could use a more thorough cleaning. There is water available for guests to refill their water bottle. The owners and staff were friendly and polite but I would have been grateful if they’d offered more specific insight and suggestions.

Staying at Keratheeram was a pleasure. It is a lovely place and the owners as well as the staff are also great people. Clean rooms, free filtered water, a fantastic roof top terrace, great location and good vibe...this accommodation has everything you are searching for. Near the cliff in Varkala, real value for money and safe.

The hotel is great value for money. We stayed for 2 nights and since leaving, I wish we'd stayed longer! It is located close to the beach and near some really lovely and inexpensive restaurants. There are tons of brilliant yoga classes nearby. The restaurants and yoga classes were both recommended by the owner who we found to be really honest and helpful.

Visited this place in off season for a short trip. They have nice clean room just next to the cliff. Staff is courteous and provide all the help in terms of places to go arranging transfer. The price they charge for location is supper good though I went in off season. Not sure about the main season. Only trouble can be locating the place. We reached in night and Google map goofed up

Stayed here last year. The rooms are small but feels nice. The owners are nice foreign couple, gave us water as many time as we asked. The place is 2 minutes away from the cliff. They have a nice seating area on the terrace. You are given the room keys so you don't have to disturb them again and again. Total worth of your money.

This is well located near the North Varkala cliff. The room was clean and simple with hot water and a mosquito net. It was really hot when I stayed in Varkala but the fan and shutters etc kept room really cool. Hammock on the balcony if you choose to use it and a chill out roof top.Wi fi and water cooler to reduce plastic and have water whenever you need. Nice people managing it.

We spent 10 days at Kheratheeram and we could have spent at least 10 more. The place is super clean, the couple who runs it adorable, and they cook good food, especially italian. They have a gorgeous terrace where you can chill, practice yoga and read.

First of all, this is not a resort, so do not expect anything similar to a resort. It is a simple homestay, with good location (several minutes from the beach and all restaurants) and that’s it. The room is pretty basic (we were on the ground floor), pretty dark (almost no daylight), with a bathroom also a very, very basic. Loris who runs his place is a nice guy (lives there with his wife and a baby) – but that cannot compensate. Also, the price we paid (booked several months in advance via a well-known Internet operator) was pretty high, much higher than the price asked to people just passing by. If you pay 6 months in advance you should normally pay less, not 60% more (and this not all go to the Agency, for sure)... All in all, we enjoyed our stay in Varkala, but for other reasons - accommodation was pretty disappointing.

It was my first time in Kerala and with very limited advice about Varkala, I was totally relying on Trip Advisor and my online research. Keratheeram Beach Resort was ideal from a location and price perspective (we were on a backpacking trip) so we booked it hoping we weren't disappointed. I am happy to say that my 3 nights spent here was exactly like we wanted! Here's why - Location - The place is easy to find and most auto drivers/locals know the place. Literally 50 mts from The Cliff with all the best restaurants, cafes and the beach within 5-8 mins walking distance. Yes, its not directly sea facing but honestly it doesn't really matter. Rooms - We had booked 2 rooms and were given the 2 adjacent rooms on the ground floor. Rooms and the small veranda outside were beautiful, freshly painted and had all the things we needed. Proper wooden bed is hard to find in budget stays these days but this place has 1 in every room. Mosquito nets come fixed to keep the bugs away. The toilet was clean and had running hot water. Extension cord was conveniently placed near the bed so you can plug in your phone (I hate places where power points are placed away from the bed). There was a nice little hammock outside the room that you can pull down whenever required. Food - The place doesn't serve food but you have plenty of places around to grab your meals. The kitchen on the ground floor is available for you to heat your food or maybe even chill your beers so that's good enough for me. Service - Loris (he's an Italian) owns and runs the place. He was extremely helpful right from the time he called me to confirm my arrival time a week in advance till we left. As soon as we arrived, he showed us the place, gave us tips about nearby restaurants, Ayurveda massage centers and how we could travel around. He arranged bikes for us at a short notice and also did not complain when we requested a last minute cancellation for a taxi he had booked for us. What else? - There's a really nice common lounge area on the terrace for everyone to use. Books, carrom and speakers are available. It's a good place to have a few beers in the afternoon or chill at late night. Final words - If you're looking for a hassle free, clean and well located place to stay at Varkala - look no further. Book in advance as the demand for this place is really high during peak season.
