This place we stayed for 2 nights with family.
The view to sea is great and beach is easily accessible just 2-3 minutes walk.
Breakfast was included and is basic one but good enough and also tastes good.
Owner is quite helpful.

We stayed in Woodhouse beach resort And had the bestest time ever. We can have the most amazing view of the sea and the sunset without any disturbance from the crowd. I will anyday prefer Room No.101 Sea front cottage with the bestest amenities. Breakfast was really nice - price is very reasonable when compared to other resorts or stays. The owner and the caretaker Mr.Manikandan were really helpful understanding and adjusting too. I will definitely recommend even a third person to stay here.

It was a beautiful location! Very nice staffs! Room is very clean and beautiful! Resort view was really awesome!!! Good service! Breakfast was too good especially for foodies a very good hospitality😃❤ I really love how it is located near the sea!!!!

Not worth. I booked seaview delux cottage for Rs 3500.
One best things i cud trace ws the location. Thats really awsum. But u hv bettr resorts close by. Sunview and krishnatheeram seems to be better.
My finding or my dislikes are listed below.
Bathroom not at all clean and taps wer in very bad shape. evn the window @ bathroom is not covered. Had to hang towel to take a bath. There were spider webs on the window. Need to improve house keeping.
U wont get a blanket, need to adjust with a bedsheet which is like a thin polyster sheet.
U wont get a ac remote unless u req for atleast 5times.
No hot water. Bathroom amenities are so bad that u hv to wait for atleast an hr to get a bucket of water.
There is no reception and no proper checkin.
Have to carry ur luggage all d way to ur room.
Hardly one car can be parked in their parking area.
In bath u only get a small medimix soap and 2 stained towels
Worst part was the breakfast.. better u go out and hv fud

Hotel's location is great. Its at the end of the cliff. You can enjoy the beach just by walking out of your room. Sevice is good and it doesnt have its own restaurant. There are cafes jusi in front of the hotel. Book the hotel for its proximity to beach.

Wood house resort felt like home.food were very good and delicious . We enjoyed a lot .rooms and cottages were neat and clean. Even in late night they fulfilled customers need . One of my favourite resort i have ever been.

The stay was good with sea facing rooms with easy beach access.Food is also Tasty.Nice Ambience.Good Wi Fi Connection.All the services are Very good.For relaxation this is one of the choice to choose.

it in the nor the of the Varkala cliff we found the small wood house. i selected for one day stay during our honeymoon time in 2006. it was excellent selection. the sound of the sea and evening view of sunset from the room was unforgettable even after long time.

Me and my mom stayed at Woodhouse Beach Resort for two weeks in December 2011 and we couldn't have found a better place! It was just perfect for us.
If you're looking for a big luxurious hotel where all the tourists are you might wanna keep looking (actually you might not even wanna go to Varkala), but if you're looking for a small, genuine, convenient place with beautiful location and the best service possible you should definitely stay here.
Just as for Robotfish (see "Another Christmas At Woodhouse Review"), our very first impression was actually not perfect - the room seemed smaller than we had thought and we couldn't get the AC to work. We were probably a bit grumpy after having travelled for almost 24 hours, and already the next day we could see everything with different eyes. The staff were quick to fix the AC, and the room actually had everything we needed. As soon as we had got some distance from our western and sometimes unpersonal standard, it didn't take long until we were confident that there was no other place in Varkala where we would rather have stayed.
The hotel is located at the end of the beach walk, just after the cliff, by the small and quiet Black Beach. We really appreciated to stay in a less crowded area, but still close to the cliff and within walking distance from all of the beach walk. Woodhouse is located much closer to the water than if you stay on the cliff, and you can actually lie in bed and hear the waves beat. The restaurant has one section just by the sea, and we totally enjoyed having our breakfast there each morning. The closeness to the ocean was extremely soothing and made us both feel more relaxed than we had done in a very long time.
The staff were great and incredibly helpful in every way. They always made sure we were happy and provided an impeccable service. At the end of our stay I became sick and had to go to the hospital, and the hotel manager Anoop immediately took me there and helped me and my mom to get through this very anxious day. Each one of the staff were very friendly and really contributed to making our vacation even more enjoyable and memorable.
I had two amazing weeks and will definitely stay at Woodhouse again if I go back to Varkala. I highly recommend this hotel!

The huts are all stuck together and people walk right in front of your door and view, we did not get a genuine ocean view even though it was an Ocean View Heritage Cottage, the ocean was way on the side (so it was in our view if we turned left) and what we did have in front of us was a littered grassland. The room itself inside was nice and comfortable and clean. The bathroom had a window that connected with the kitchen! So we had all the noise of the kitchen.
There is a nice communal deck with beautiful ocean view were you can relax... but the surrounding is full of trash! There is a little hill next to the stairs to get there and its very littered. It was heartbreaking to see so much trash.
There needs to be taken serious commitment and action to clean up the area and keep it clean.
I feel it is overpriced.

It is a 5 minute walk to Black Beach.
If the surrounding areas are cleaned up and kept unpolluted I think it would be a very nice place for families with children.
