Last time we came here was 5 years ago and it was great coming back. This Homestay is run by a lovely family who will do all they can to help. Perfectly situated, just 5 minute walk to the beach and sea views from the roof top restaurant. Food is good with plenty of choice. The owner has his own auto rickshaw and can take you on small trips or pick you up with no haggling! Rooms are simple but comfortable and clean. This was our 4th visit and will not be our last. Highly recommend this place.
If you are looking for a place to eat while in Odayam Beach this is where you will find the best food in the area. The restaurant has a nice ocean view to enjoy while waiting for the food. Very peaceful place!
I went here for food only & was very impressed with the quality of food, there was plenty of variety and there was authentic Indian food which isn’t so easy to find in Varkala! The Gobi Manchurian was very good - freshly prepared. Service also very good. The food was reasonably priced in comparison to other nearby restaurants. A nice peaceful restaurant that you can relax in as a solo person, couple or a group. I will return.
We just had the pleasure of dining @ this restaurant. It's a simple setting, but the service is great, the cook is humble/shy and makes the most delicious food, you can't imagine. All fresh and delicious. Makes special Tibetan food. The Thupka was fantastic. The hand made Momo (see picture) tastes fantastic & came with a very tasty soup. It's not very well advertised, /sign posted, so we can call it a hidden gem :) Will come back for sure.
Sea Splendour is an amazing guesthouse where you feel welcome from the very beginning. It is totally familiar ,idylic and calm. The Family Sahib offers clean rooms with relaxing balcony,a supermarket and a wonderful Restaurant. There you can choose between indian, european and tibetan kitchen and every dish is prepared superfresh for you.I specially recommend veg. Momos and bananamilkshake but everything tastes fantastic.we really enjoyed the whole surrounding and the origin beach just 2 minutes walkway. If you search for unforgettable holidays with wide oppurtunities and the choice to relax whenever you want, this is the unavoidable adress :-)!!!
Rented the cottage with 2 bedrooms with a friend, it was a great decision. Very quiet with one large bedroom and a small one, mutual bathroom and a lovely small terrace. You just have to live with a mosque, which is just a few hundred meters away and during prayer times it can be really loud. Seasplendour is close to the beach, so you can hear the waves sometimes. There is a lovely roof terrace restaurant, which serves nice and valuable food from breakfast to dinner. Service was good, staff is very helpful, being asked every morning if they can serve us breakfast on our terrace as well. The owner is just around all the time to give you a helping hand and whatever he can arrange he will do for his guests. Owing his own Rickshaw, renting scooters, running a small shop with your daily needs as well. Pick-up and drop-off from station as well as taking care of laundry, making appointments for Ayurveda massage (there is a clinic just around the corner), there is nothing they don't do for you, which leads to a lovely and very familiar atmosphere. Internet can be a bit of a problem, in the restaurant it was working most of the time, in the room we were not lucky at all. Its a short stroll to Odayam beach (bout 2 min.), which is nice and clean. Along the beach you can walk to the Cliffs and Varkala beach (bout 10-15 min, don't forget bringing a torch at night). From Varkala you can start endless beach walks. Enjoyed our stay in seasplendour very much.…
Oh what I have longed for my return to Sea Splendour! For the second year in a row, I spent three weeks at Sea Splendour Odayam Beach, Varkala. This small unique hotel with 12 rooms and warm welcoming atmosphere. Haksar, the owner and his two employees Krishna and Adish are working around the clock to make me and the other guests to feel as well as VIP but also part of the family. The small open rooftop restaurant served just like last year delicious, varied and affordable dishes. It speaks its own language that the restaurant is also popular with guests from nearby hotels. Haksar was as usual never far away to assist me with tasks like "private taxi"( his own rickshaw), organize tours and arrangements around the arrival of my three rather grown up children (20-26 years). My three youngsters who accompany me for two weeks also instantly fell in love with the Sea Splendour environment. We had a great time together. To mention a few of the exclusive ingredients in the Sea Splendour inclusive - The safe feeling, the staff are always nearby. - The rooms, less is more! - The nearby Odayam Beach (5 min), beautiful and almost deserted. - The nearby North Cliff with plenty of shops and restaurants. 20 minutes walk along the beach or 10 minutes in Haksar’s rickshaw. - Haksar’s contactcs: Ayuveda doctor, treatments, yoga, tours etc. - The calmness, the serenity with sounds from the sea and the birds. - Amazing value for money. The prices are low. Many of Sea Splendour guests are “returnees” . I have become one of them!…
Even though accommodation doesn't look great but atleast it's neat and clean. If u don't have to stay for longer hours in the room then better go for it. Very very reasonable.... Restaurant is on the top, food is OK OK... Looks like whole varkala works in slow motion. Where every V had food in the sea splendour or shack or any other restaurants service was very slow.
Fantastic food in a beautiful and quiet scenery, it's a place you feel to visit one more time. I love to recommend Musli for breakfast and the North Indian Palak paneer and the Tibetan Tukpa for dinner. Enjoy:-)
Very good place and very amables staff. Nice location with private restaurant, mini market and rent scooter. Very good rooms with private and clean bathroom. 100% recomendable!! Very good food.........
