I've stayed in Kaiya House three times now with my husband and have always been met with friendly smiles and wonderful hospitality. Debra is a great host and having spent many years travelling to and from India it's lovely to have come across such a great place to stay when in Kerala. The rooms are tastefully decorated, each with its...

We're on a 6 week tour of India and Kaiya House in Varkala was our second to last stop. We've stayed in hotels and guest houses across North and south of India so feel we have a good view - Kaiya House is simply awesome and we thoroughly recommend it. My brother and sister-in-law had stayed here two years ago...

I traveled around India for 6 months on my own as a solo female traveler and this place was top! Before even meeting me I was impressed by the excellent customer service provided by Debra and accommodating me as a solo female. During my stay both herself and Suraj provided excellent care for me and friendship. Extremely welcoming, friendly and...

And I so hope you do come back. It was lovely to meet you and hear of your plans and adventures. Thank you so much for taking the time to do such a lovely review for us and apologies for taking a bit to long to reply, in and out of internet connection recently. Hope to see you in the...

This is a great place to stay with a very informative hostess. Like others have noted, I did feel I was being lectured to but I realized she has the best of intentions. Debra excelled at making arrangements for us and making sure we got the most out of our visit. I was prepared for the cold water showers but...

Thank you so much for taking time to do a lovely review for us. I know I give a lot of information when people arrive but I do try to time it so they're not overwhelmed. I want people to have the best possible stay and good memories and sometimes that little bit of extra information helps. And good that...

Really loved my stay, perfect place to let go of the stress of everyday life, located between the cliff and the Temple area. Spotlessly clean. The roof terrace is a place to chill out, delicious breakfast, different local dish available every day of the week in addition to your regular omelette, toast, muesli porridge. Debra is a fantastic host, and the...

It was a lucky day indeed, when based on scores of great reviews on Tripadvisor, I emailed Debra at Kaiya House. She very generously extended her closing date, AND went out of her way to make my birthday one of the most memorable ones!!! Cannot thank Debra enough for the special wine, for my kinda music, and dance!! And of...

So sweet, thank you for your lovely review. It was wonderful to have you as one of the last guests of my season. The only thing that would have made it better would have been the 7km walk we had to miss. Next time! I know we'll meet again.

A short 10 minute walk from the busy cliff top - just far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful bnb. Debra the host is one of the loveliest, most helpful and welcoming people we've met on our travels. Her second in command, Babachee, is also a delight. The top floor open sided 'chill out' area...

The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the rooftop-veranda is so beautifully decorated that you are enjoying taking breakfast and spending time there. It was lovely to meet you and your mum. It was good timing to have you here during festival time to enjoy what people in Kerala look forward to the whole year. Since you've been here 8 months I'm sure this part of the world will long be in your heart and you will be back. I look forward to...

I have stayed with Deb (once you have stayed you soon realise you are staying with a person, not at some nameless resort) three times now and am, frankly, overwhelmed by it. The whole experience fits what I am looking for when I go on holiday - relaxation. You will never be hassled to do anything or not do anything...

This is not your average Indian guesthouse. When we arrived, Debbie took us on a tour of Varkala so we could get our bearings of the town (which is a beautiful place).
