Very unprofessional. The room had snails. The rooms were dirty. Never men of their words. One of the worst places in Varkala. They have a lot of interest in guests' personal matters. They should have professional boundaries. They should speak only when required. Very uncivilized.
We stayed for 3days at shiva garden over the December and really We had a great time, the owners are a very lovely family. We were a couple and it's a perfect place for kids also lots of games and swings in the garden. Communal area is great. Food is lovely. The best place to keep our mind free and relaxed,Then staff are great. Rooms are basic.
Highly recommend Shiva Garden in Varkala, had a great 4 night stay at the beginning of my trip in India. Highlights: staff are so friendly, welcoming, helpful and really accommodating. Food is nice and a wide range on offer and someone is always around to serve you. Yoga Shala available to use at your leisure, they also put classes on. Really nice garden chill out area to meet people or just relax. Also just a short walk from the cliff.
I stayed at shiva garden twice in the past few years, once in low season and once in high season, both experiences were thoroughly enjoyable. The rooms are clean and large with a beautiful balcony overlooking the surrounding trees. The guesthouse is set in a peaceful area of Varakala, just 10 minutes walk from the beach and main shops and resturants. The guesthouse itself provides exceptional food! The property boats a huge open space with hammocks and swings, perfect for socialising with fellow guests or gazing up into the palm trees. In the summer they held movie and salsa nights as well as group meditations. Jayan the owner is friendly and welcoming and goes out of his way to ensure that his guests have everything they need. The guesthouse really feels like a home and both times I found it very hard to leave! Until next time shiva garden!!…
As soon as I stepped into the guesthouse with a warm welcome by Vinod I felt like home. Owner and staff are all very friendly and helpful. I stayed only 2 nights but felt like staying longer. Quiet at night, quick access to the cliff (ask it follow Google maps for shortcuts), comfortable outdoor seating and food and drinks available. They also rent bicycles. The owner arranged a taxi pick up from the airport as I arrived in the evening. And a rickshaw to Varkala station. Very good choice and value for money.
