The hotel has been rated 4 star but has no amenities of a 4 star hotel. We stayed in Garden View Rooms which was priced at Rs 3100 per night for a twin bedroom. Very poorly maintained property with lots of insects and mosquitoes at night. The bathrooms were stinking. Not recommended for families.

It was really great! The room, personnel and breakfast were beyond any belief! Seaview rooms gave a perfect picturesque view on the beach and sea. The sea itself is within 5 minutes walking. The personnel is very friendly and hospitable.

Stayed here for little over 2 weeks and the word hospitality took on a new meaning for me! Kunji and team made my stay memorable to another degree. They promised me that when I left Varkala my memories would be 'sticky' and surely that's the case. I stayed in the sea facing room on the 1st floor which was decorated mostly in white (my favourite). The entire place has a simplistic yet elegant vibe about it. I could constantly hear the ocean even though the doors and windows were closed. I used to sit on the balcony and have my cup of coffee in the morning and just that experience would relax me for the entire day. Kukku the chef made yummy breakfast every morning (total English style - :D ). They arranged a bike for me so I could visit the cliffs and beaches whenever I wanted. This place is also super close to the beach (like I said I could hear the ocean throughout). Just the vibe of this place is surreal and I would recommend that you definitely visit Mint Inside just to experience the tranquility of the place and the hospitality of the staff. The only reason I rated this 4 stars as I feel they need to improve the washroom and overall cleanliness but that's only because I'm an OCD freak. Point to note - they took care of my concerns the moment I highlighted them. In summary, visit and enjoy your experience at Mint Inside. I booked this hotel by using google maps and the hotel pictures. I am certainty NOT disappointed!!!! The rooms are spacious and with a minimalistic decoration, near the beach, near the promenades with shops. The staff was expeditious and efficient, well done!!!! Some tips for the future travelers, the bedrooms with see view are equipped with AC, the breakfast start at 9:00 but they are quite quick on bringing your order. If you can’t stand Arab chants inviting to the mosquee I suggest you a room with Air-conditioning :)

I traveled to India, settled in different hotels. In this hotel I did not like the price-quality ratio, in the photo the room seems large and bright, but unfortunately the room was very small, it smelled of damp and not light enough. For that kind of money, I could find a room many times better than this. I do not recommend this hotel!

Small room, but new and fresh. When showering, you wet the small bathroom as the shower is placed in the middle of the bathroom without drapery. Breakfast is served between 9-11 which is a little too late for us. The room was not cleaned during the two days we stayed here. No beach towels to borrow. 3 minutes walk to Odayam beach where you can rent umbrellas making 200Rs (2.5EUR) per day. Cozy beach with little people. What we liked: - Everything is clean and new - The hammock outside - Good bathroom lighting (a common lack of many places) What could be better: - Extra towel to put on the wet bathroom floor - Better information on arrival - In-room safe - Mote tentative service (Delux sea view room)

We have spent 4 nights in a garden bungalow which was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the famous north cliff with a lot of bars and restaurants is a 20 minute walk away (or you take a tuk tuk). From the rooftop restaurant you have a nice view above the ocean and the food served was very delicious. But you really have to be patient since it takes a lot of time till the meals - also the breakfast - are cooked, although the hotel was not crowded. We missed a bit the small things that make your stay comfortable: there are no glases in the room, no kettle to make a coffee etc. All in all it was nice stay and for the price we've paid (during low season) it was worth the money.

Mint Inside is a great place to stay and compared to the many places we have traveled to in India it is well above the Indian standard. Its location is perfect for a relaxing holiday, we booked the rooms with sea view and spent a great amount of time on the balcony listening to the waves. The rooms are newly renovated, comfortable, very clean and well maintained. As we gathered all our guests and families a few days prior to our wedding, their service has been beyond amazing. A good example is our first day: my friend rented a Royal Enfield motorcycle and as we were waiting for the rental place to deliver to the hotel we actually wanted to leave for Varkala Cliff. So Kunji, the manager, offered his personal scooter just so we could go explore the town a little earlier. Generally speaking, no wish was left unfulfilled and they went the extra mile to accommodate us at all times. Our special thanks goes to Kunji, Sahad and Sasha, who runs the restaurant Boban & Molly, I will write a separate review for this one. Thank you so much for making our stay so special!…

We stayed there for one night & really liked the place. Fortunately, got the beach facing room so the view was amazing from the balcony. They offered a very delicious breakfast. Would love to go there again. The only concern is that it is little bit far from the cliff beach but we had a scooty so that was okay for us.
