Good location if you are looking for budget place near both beach, walks and shopping. See view and green garden. Super helpful and friendly staff. Big room, simple standard. Stayed for three weeks while on ayurvedic treatment in the same block.

I really enjoyed my stay in this calm and peaceful environment. The owner was always friendly and helpful and the price was lower compared to the other Cottages on the North Cliff. The room is simply furnished but you can find all you need. The beach is just some minutes away and there are many decent restaurants close by. Can recommend this place for a stay in Varkala!

We extended our stay twice because it is simply a nice place. The owner seems to be a very nice person (towards other people and also towards his cute dog). The prices are reasonable and the location is good. We stayed in a bamboo hut for 4 days, it was clean enough and we were provided with towels and a bin. The only problem was the ants, but this is everywhere in the nature so i wouldn't complain about it, just know that you will have to deal with many of them, different sizes and all if you chose the bamboo huts. They also have some kind of hotel rooms available if you can't handle bugs though! The garden is nice and chilled, with hammocks in the shadow of coconut trees and a view on the ocean. You can always here the waves and the birds, it's a peaceful place when there is no temple festival going on during you stay. I would recommend this place if you're on a budget and not bothered by insects. …

My wife and I stayed in a standard non hut room here. It was clean and big and had a comfy bed. The guys running it are really nice and helped us out in getting our laundry clean and booking us our taxi to the airport. It’s a short walk to the main beach. Nice place to stay on varkala north cliff. I would stay here again.

I had made a booking thru Agoda and I was about to check in in night post 7 pm along with my family. Just to ensure about our arrival and get a landmark to reach them, I called them (supposedly, he is owner and his number reflects on website). But, he out-rightly denied any booking on my name and bluntly told that he doesn't have any kind of connection with Agoda. Well, I tried to connect to Agoda also at that time but it was useless. Upon asking, if he has any availability, he categorically told that all cottages are full and only cemented rooms are available right now. Fortunately, we got space in Savithri Inn Bamboo Cottage and they were really nice people but it was shocking to get such response by Bamboo Village owner specially when I had made the payment in advance. I went through Agoda again for refund of money and now Bamboo Cottage People are saying that they had our booking details with them which is purely cheating. Overall, I won't suggest anyone to book this property online (Offline- we visited the property as we were staying next to it and present staff denied any kind of availability in cottage for that night) and booking thru Agoda is also not a recommendable idea as you won't get their customer service at need of hour.…

First of all, there are more than one 'Bamboo village' in Varkala . We got the booking from Agoda and we keep that rooms for them, but the guest didn't reached here, we don't get such a phone call from the guest. And we informed Agoda that the guest didn't reach here. And no guest visited our place with an Agoda booking details.

The guy who runs the place is extremely rude and racist. He was super sweet to all the white guys around except us Indians. At night when we had our friend to come drop us back as we were all girls he asked him to leave the property very rudely even though we weren't making any noise or creating nuisance and after the incident behaved like he's done nothing wrong and refused to acknowledge his mistake. The rooms are basic, not that great.

In varkala there are two 'Bamboo villages'. According to our resgister no guest named 'shruthi' stayed in our place. We think this review is in the wrong place.

A relaxing and chilled out place to hang out and reflect. Hutts are cosy and comfortable with hammocks to relax in. Located at the north end giving privacy too. Lal the housekeeping and all rounder staff is amazing..so helpful and friendly..look out for him.. 😉

Liked staying there! Clean AC room, with nice balcony, fam and air condition. Had two good massage eith bamboo team. Was great and professional. Clean room. Changed our sheets and towel s after two days. 2 minutes frommain restaurants on the north cliff. Highly recommended**!!

How can you treat people like this cant understand I had same problem with one of the workers actually mobbed me so I have to get help one week it was nice one week good then goingbon like this very arrogant when I talked with the manager he denial all and didnt listen...after staying too long I moved to another place

As she said, she stayed here long. According to our register she stayed in our place for 3 months. If our place is bad a guest can't stay for 3 months. Once she said a complaint, that one of our staff is not saying 'Good morning' to her. As a manager what can I do with this complaint. I think this lady has some mental problems.
