I must admit I was kind of ignorant when I decided to join my cousin in this 2 weeks Ayurveda treatments.
But it has been an amazing experience. The routine consisted in getting up at 6am for a 2 hrs yoga, followed by vegetarian breakfast and later full body massages, steam bath and nose treatments.
What I personally found absolutely amazing was the variety of delicious food, discovering new veggies and spices.
The 2 weeks treatments have cleaned up my body as well as relaxed my mind.
I definitively would recommend such treatments for anyone willing to find peace and relaxation.
The facility is small with only 5 bedrooms which makes the whole ambiance more like a family home and the personnel is very professional, super kind and always smiling.
Thank you all!!! I miss you already 😍

I am a 21 year old woman and came to this ashram from the United States with severe eczema and mental health issues. After 25 days here my eczema has completely subsided and I feel mentally strong again. This ashram has an amazing staff, the treatment ladies Sunita and Annie were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met and the food given here was simultaneously healthy and delicious. Most importantly, the yoga instructor Raviji was amazing in his yoga teaching and counseling. I would highly recommend this place to treat skin diseases as their panchakarma treatment and ayurveda medicine was very effective in combating my eczema.

It was a wonderful stay, we stayed 1 month, I will never forget the taste of Ayurveda cook and in one month our life style changed into healthy lifestyle, I was making me massage therapist course and it was amazing, in one month I become a magic healer can you believe it, normally it’s a 3 or six month course but I made a double effort to finish it in one month. Thank you everyone from Sivasoorya Ayurveda healing Ashram. My wife had a very weak immune system, she was so much suffering, thanks again their paincha karma treatment made her healthy again. We are so greatful.

I came to the Ayurveda Healing Ashram in search of an authentic experience, and that is exactly what I received. For those looking for a vacation resort, look elsewhere. I arrived here feeling lousy, exausted, bloated and worn-down from stress and a poor lifestyle (and I'm only 25). I stayed here a total of 21 days for the Panchakarma detox treatment and I can't believe how quickly the time flew by. Within days of treatment I was already feeling more energetic and happier than I had in months. By the end of my treatment I was feeling like a teenager again
Let me break down my 5 star review:
The treatments & yoga: like I said before, this place is an authentic Ayurvedic treatment center. The doctors and practitioners know their stuff. You can customize treatments to your liking. I was feeling relaxed and destressed by day 2. The yoga was great too! I really enjoyed learning breathing techniques and working on meditation while getting personal attention to help my practice.
The food: the food here is unbelievable. I've always been a VERY picky eater so I was surprised by my clean plates at the end of every meal. Everything is organic, fresh, and extremely tasty- with a diverse menu. They will work with allergies and preferences too. When I mentioned to the owner/head yogi that I loooove mangoes he went out of his way to search every shop in town looking for the out of season fruit!
The staff/family: definitely one of my favorite parts of staying at the ashram was the unique opportunity I had bonding with the staff. This is one of the things you definitley wont get at a resort. I was even invited to one of the past therapist weddings, who came to my room to hand delive a invite / meet me for the first time. The girls navigated me thru the bazaar world of sarees and even helped me get ready. The family like structure of this ashram is unique. The owner/head yogi and his wife took treated me like a daughter and took me out for what has been my favorite day in India thus far. They drove me around town to sightsee, treated me to sweet at their favorite bakery & dinner at their favorite vegetarian restaurant, road rides with me at the carnival, strolled the city park during the festival of lights, and showed me nothing by warmth and love.
The Ashram is also located on a marvelous plot of land with breathtaking views

My experience at the Ayurvedic healing Ashram surpassed any expectations I had before leaving. I spoke to Raviji, the owner, a few times before coming and was skeptical since there was no required advanced payment but as he promised I had a car waiting for my arrival at the airport at 3am and all was smooth. I have just returned a few days ago and what I miss more than anything is the warm feeling I had from the staff . Almost immediately I felt that I was part of their family and by the time I left after 2 weeks it was hard to say goodbye. The Ashram is situated on the top of the mountain overlooking acres of palm trees and the sea can be seen from afar. The Ashram has a beautiful garden well maintained by the staff. There are only 5 rooms so I got to know the other guests quite well which was an added bonus to the experience. The food was delicious, Vegan ayurvedic - I expected to be fed small portions of bland boiled food for detox so was pleasantly surprised. The main therapists are very skilled (both Leshmi and Sham)- know that the massage is deep tissue and can be rough for some people who are sensitive but I assure you it is very healing and the team knows what they are doing. If this is not what you want you can request to have a lighter treatment. They are very flexible and accommodating with specific requests. Although they say minimum 3 weeks is best for Panchakarma I felt after 2 weeks I had adequate treatment. I left rejuvenated and my skin unbelievably soft. I enjoyed the morning yoga classes and evening chantings (especially when Raviji led them). Although we were encouraged not to leave the grounds, this was just a suggestion. I stayed most of the time at the Ashram but If you are going only to the ashram then back to your country I do suggest a small outing to Kovallam beach near by. My biggest concern was that I would be bored but this was not the case. I would recommend to bring books to read though. The experience was really unique and if you are looking for a combination of relaxation, yoga & ayurveda in a family like setting this is the place!

It was my first experience with Ayurveda and a great one too.The ashram is small, cared for and authentic, the staff is delightful and the Ayurveda practice and treatments traditional. Raviji, the owner of the ashram is the Yogi and classes are held every morning + chanting sessions in the evening. He has an open ear for all needs and his warm energy and kindness transfers to the entire staff. When I left after 21 days, I felt like leaving a family. The food is fantastic, healthy and tasty! The place is a fantastic healthy getaway for anyone who truly seeks to improve their health, rejuvenate, relax and be surrounded by loving and at the same time professional staff. It was my first time there, surely not my last. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!!!

I stayed at the Sivasoorya Ayurveda Healing Ashram at Trivandrum for 9 days during the month of sept/oct 2016 and followed the detox programmed, intensive oil massage, Rejuvenation, meditation and Yoga.
I arrived at Sivasoorya Ayurveda Healing Ashram at Trivandrum feeling lousy, exhausted, and worn-down from stress and left knee pain.
Upon my arrival at Trivandrum airport around 2:20 pm driver Babu was waiting for me after pick-up he then dropped me at Soorya Ayurveda Healing Ashram which 20 minutes from the Airport. On arrival around 2:50 pm at the Ashram manager Mr. Sangeeth Kumar received with warm welcome and he took me to the guest room. As I entered the main entrance I found High energy levels in the Ashram premises. After few minutes the owner of the Sivasoorya Ayurveda Healing Ashram Shri Raviji came to see me after some talk, he requested me to have my lunch and thereafter to take rest.
At around 4.00 pm senior Doctor Shanvas and his junior doctor Nisha visited my room and Doctor Shanvas held my left forearm for reading the pulse to diagnose my physical, mental and emotional imbalance as well as diseases and potential future conditions of my health and he gave me the detailed consultation and clarified my doubts about my left knee pain and sleep. He briefed me about the Ayurveda treatment and its benefit, etc. He prepared for me best suitable Ayurveda treatment programmed. I had my first wonderful massage in the evening around 5:00 pm. I went to sleep during the massage, as it was so relaxing after the flight from Mumbai.
I had undergone 9 days Yoga and Panchakarma treatment, started with Abhyanga, which is full body herbal oil, Massage treatment, and daily 7:00 am to 8:00. Am.
Doctor Shanvas informed me that Abhyanga is full body medical herbal oil Massage designed to stimulate the circulatory, nervous and lymphatic systems. It’s has a healing, cleansing and revitalizing effect on the body which improves flexibility and realigns both the joints and the spine.
For Seven days Nasal treatment was given to me, Doctor Shanvas informed me that this therapy is a potent method to purify and nurture the mind and senses. This therapy cleanses, purifies and strengthens the nasal passages, thus allowing deep and easy breathing. It has miraculous results in treating congestion, allergies, sinusitis, headaches, migraine, rhinitis and other nasal infections.
For Four days Kizhi treatment was given to my left knee after the Abhyanga body oil massage. It is a bundle of medicinal herbs, which is heated in oil and was applied to my left knee pain affected areas. The hot oil activates the medicine within the Kizhi, and the heat stimulates and relaxed my left knee pain affected areas. Doctor Shanvas informed me that Kizhi’s are used to remove inflammatory blocks, and improve circulation and flexibility in joints and muscles.
From 8:00 am to 8:30 am after the above Abhyanga oil massage treatment localized steam treatment with medical herbs were added to water was given to my upper body. Thereafter body steam sauna bath was performed in a closed wooden cabin where in the neck and head is kept out and rest of the body is inside the closed wooden cabin. The steam is carried through pipes into the closed wooden cabin in where I sat for 20 minutes. The effect of the steam sauna caused my body to sweat profusely, thus removing large amounts toxins from the body. In addition, I inhaled the medicine in the steam. This is a powerful detoxifying treatment. The action of the steam sauna on my body helped me to sweat and relieve stiffness thus reducing my pain, swelling and excess fats of my whole body.
In the evening around 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm Shirodhara treatment was given to me, it is also known as a head bath, I found it to be a gentle and powerful treatment. Warm oil is poured from a hanging pot onto the forehead and scalp, which are massaged gently. Doctor Shanvas informed me that many toxins are released from the scalp and are carried away by the flow of the oil. This treatment is so relaxing it sometime send me into a deep sleep. They awake me feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and at night I use to get good sleep.
Everyday around 5:00 to 5:30 pm bundle of medicinal herbs, which is heated in oil, was applied to my left knee affected areas. The hot oil activates the medicine with the gentle massage and the heat herbal oil stimulates and which relaxed my left knee pain affected areas.
They have experienced and well-qualified Male Therapists for male guests and female therapists are for female guests.
Every morning around 10:30 am Doctor Ms. Nisha checks my BP and enquires about my night sleep, appetite and left knee pain improvements after treatment.
Every evening around 5:30 pm Doctor Shanvas treatment involve a pulse reading session. Based on the results the course of treatment will be planned out, and any necessary herbal medicines will be prescribed. Daily he will enquire about my knee pain improvements and about my sleep and appetite. I believe in Dr.Shanvas Ayurveda treatment. During treatment and after the treatment I follow the recommendation of Dr.Shanvas medicines. He has a healing touch.
I noticed that all of the oils used in the treatments at the Ashram are organic and hand made on site under the direct supervision of Doctor Shanvas and Shri Raviji.
Daily Breakfast was served at 9:00 am, Lunch around 1:00 pm and dinner around 7:30 pm, the vegetarian food prepared by Cook Mr. Deva was great and clean. I could enjoy Kerala food “Puttu (wheat, rice), Dosa, appam, and Upma for breakfast. For the lunch and dinner Rice, Chapatti, verities of vegetable curries (side dishes), soups, fruits.
All the rooms at the Ashram are well maintained. The facilities are of good standard and one feels very safe in a family environment. There is presence of softness, purity and care in the people, the treatment and the facilities. I found there was a real Ayurveda center. It's not commercialized but genuine.
Shri Raviji is a very experience Yogi and every morning there are meditation and Yoga session are both lovely. Under the guidance and personal care by Shri Raviji and his younger son Mr. Nikhil. He visits the Ashram daily twice a day and talks to the respective guest and enquires them about their treatment and food or if any guest require any other help from the management of the Ashram. He was keen to redress when I felt any discomfort. He is a humble and down to earth person. Use of Wi-Fi Internet was complimentary. It was great thing that I could be in touch with family and friends. I got a glimpse of Kerala, visiting to Lord Padmanabha temple and Ganesh temple and Trivandrum city etc.
Within one week itself, I was able to feel significant changes with my left knee pain, sleep and appetite. I began experiencing a positive effect within me as a result of the therapies offered at the Ashram is really well qualified. The staff showed me the intensity of warmth and hospitality with their kind heart love, care and friendliness. Staffs are very happy to do their jobs. They have very good awareness in massages treatment, which assure the patients’ cure and comfort.
I felt happy about the attention by everyone especially Shri Raviji, both doctors Shanvas and Ms Nisha the front office manager Mr. Sangeeth Kumar, the Yoga instructor Mr. Nikhil, cook Mr. Raghu and all the masseurs. I have never had such wonderful Ayurvedic treatment before?
I felt happy about the exceptional training Doctor Shanvas have given to the therapists. Every one in his team has fantastic attitudes and for me this was amazing experience. It was wonderful experience, which gave me poser and youth.
After the Panchakarma treatment, I feel great transformations in my body. My mind became tranquil. I became more vigorous. My left knee pain has vanished. All the more I could sleep well. I feel that I returned home a better version of myself. My family thinks I look 10 years younger and I am looking and feeling wonderful in Body, Mind and Soul. My life becomes joyful.
I have visited numerous healing centers in different places in India and had gone through several healing techniques, and all such centers made tall claims promising all kinds of so-called miracles and wonders, which never actually happened either to my body or to my mind.
But, when I compare with other Ayurveda Resorts I have to say that the Soorya Ayurveda Healing Ashram is better center for Ayurveda and Yoga. Their price is comparatively the best in the industry with respect to the quality.
To the management and all the staff at Ayurveda Healing Ashram, Thank you so much for all the loving care and attention and the hard work that went into making my stay at Ayurveda Ashram so wonderful. I had truly had an amazing healing experience. I feel blessed to have spent 9-day stay here and to have met such lovely people. It is each and every one of you who made my time here such an enjoyable experience. I felt happy about the whole environment. It is a peaceful place where one can learn the best thing in life is happiness is health. Thank you Raviji for creating a place hidden in the city of Trivandrum.
I will never forget to stay here and I do hope to return again at some point in the future. Once again, a BIG THANKS YOU to you all. I do hope to see you all again in my next visit.
I have no hesitation in recommending the Soorya Ayurveda Healing Ashram for an authentic Ayurvedic experience its the right place for Yoga, detoxification and Rejuvenation for the whole body and mind.

I stayed at the Sivasoorya Ayurvedic Healing Ashram for a week in March, 2015 after 3 weeks on the road in India with a tour group. It was a lovely experience. The place is charming overall, off the road and within a view (though not a walk) of the sea. The rooms are simple, spacious and clean. The staff is extremely friendly, competent, and trustworthy and most spoke enough English to understand and communicate clearly with me and other Westerners. Food was authentic, abundant, healthy, fresh and delicious....I was introduced to a number of local dishes I had never tried before and are probably not available outside of Kerala.
I did not do the normal panchakarma ayurvedic treatment because I wasn't there long enough (it requires at least 2 weeks stay), but I did have the vigorous whole body oil massage, kryri treatment (where hot medicinal herb pouches are pounded into the body in key areas) and Dh're (where a buttermilk-like mix is dribbled for half an hour in a pendulum motion onto the forehead from an overhead vessel...most relaxing!) The morning yoga was great. The ayurvedic doctors seemed quite knowledgeable, though I would have appreciated a deeper and longer introduction to ayurveda by Dr. Leshmi. Grounds were lovely, though a few areas in the herb garden had outdoor furniture that was in clear need of replacement. I noticed landscaping upgrades taking place in the garden towards the end of my stay. This place is small, with a cozy family feel. Staff take good care of all the guests. All the guests eat together and tend to get to know one another. There is also some chanting and meditation. Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet the owner until the end of my stay, but he was very gracious, as was his son, Nikhil, the yoga teacher.
It would have helped to know our treatment schedule earlier in the day instead of being at the beck and call of the treatment staff. However, the uncertain nature of when we would receive our treatments did force us all to relinquish control over our time and just kick-back and relax! We (most of us were various Americans/Canadians) were joined at the end of the week by a charming Indian couple from Varanassey (Benares), so it's nice to see that the place is frequented by Indians as well as Westerners.

I arrived at the ashram feeling exhausted and emotional. I have completed Panchakarma before at different centres but the holistic experience is to be had here at the Sivavoorya Ashram with Raviji's powerful healing morning yoga practice. This is a potent series of asanas, pranayama, kriyas and chanting - also including Mind Therapy to help heal and calm the emotional body. After only a few days you begin to feel a sense of renewal in the body and an awakening of spirit. The Ayurveda is excellent as is the food. The whole centre from the cleaners to the chefs and managers operate from the heart and on a vibration of love. A truly memorable experience and I will be returning next year.

Very good therapy minimum stay should be 21 days to make it worth it. Good food veg, good staff, medical support but too close from trivendrum airport runway and from other temples which can make it noisy at night,

Response from lejeunepyl, Manager at Ayurveda Healing Ashram
Responded 25 Apr 2017
Mr. Thyal who had been to the Sivasoorya Ayurveda Healing Ashram, recently has commented on his experiences, his appreciation and suggestions from the bottom of his heart. Thanks. The Management welcomes the good words of appreciation and the fact that he is fully satisfied with the ambience, treatment and other facilities he had experienced during his stay at the Ashram. At the Ashram, we take great care to cater to the requirements of our visitors/patients and provide all the basic requirements needed for the cure of both the body and mind. However two comments by Mr. Thyal need to be clarified with emphasis. He said that since the Ashram was close to the Trivandrum International Airport, the disturbances in connection with the sound of the aero planes caused much difficulty to him. It must be noted that the Ashram is located in the serene village of Vandithadam, near Pachalloor, which is situated nearly 14 kilometers away from the Trivandrum International Airport. This distance cannot cause any kind of disturbance tour patients and till date no one else has ever raised this matter. Another difficulty experienced by Mr. Thyal was that in connection with the sound produced by the festivities from the nearby temple. Kerala being a land of various religions, the temples that decorate the entire land have their yearly festivals which last from a week to ten days. These temple festivals are characterized by their vibrancy of rhythm, colour and sound in many forms, only to impart a feel of the religious fervour that are part and parcel of the land. In fact all our foreign visitors have appreciated the festive spirit wholeheartedly. In case if Mr. Thyal personally found this difficult an experience, we shall see if we can also include details about such festivities in our schedules.
