I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend stay at SOUTH PARK, Triruvanathapuram. Amazingly located on the MG Road city-nerve, our room was lavishly large with copious storage cupboards and a functional bathroom with round the clock hot water. The buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners were a dream for vegetarians. Plus hot dosas and lachcha parathas kept our palettes fully satiated. Courteous staff fully added to the South Park experience. Best place to stay in downtown Triruvanathapuram.

We had booked 3 rooms for four days in South Park. Hotel is centrally located in Trivandrum City with in walking distance from Secretariat and several tourist attractions. Trivandrum railway station is just 2 km away.Our stay here was absolutely awesome. All our family members thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. From the time we checked in till the checkout on 5th day, we were really pampered with their remarkable hospitality and excellant service. The front office staff, restaurant staff and house keeping staff are all well trained in taking care of their guests. Front office staff were very courteous and eager to help when ever we approached them for any help. Mr. Sinodh, the Front Office Manager was very cooperative and helpful in finalising our itinerary for sight seeing in Trivandrum city and the outskirts. All the issues in the rooms were promptly attended to on very first call. They even have a system in place for an office staff to personally visit the room and ensure that the complaints were timely resolved. They were even ready to shift one of our rooms for a simple reason that the mobile charging socket was faulty. The rooms are very spacious and serviced every day. The bed linen and bath towels are clean. Sufficient storage space provided. Tea kettle and all Toiletries are also provided. Buffett breakfast is lavish with several items to select. Restaurant starts functioning as early as 7 AM in the morning so that guests can venture out early. The only con I felt is that the bath rooms are small and the bathing space in the bathing cubicle is little constrained. I will not think twice to stay here again in my future visits to Trivandrum. Any traveller looking for a decent 3 star family accomodation in Trivandrum, here it is. You can bring your family here with out any worries.

Very old property. No renovation has been done. I booked a deluxe room and upon checkin they said they don't have deluxe type category and only standard and fortune club rooms. But the online portals showing standard rooms and deluxe rooms. And the deluxe rooms are costlier than standard rooms. Since they informed that no deluxe rooms are available I requested the reception to upgrade the room to fortune club and I am ready to pay the difference. I was informed by the reception that I have been upgraded to club room at no cost.
When I entered the room I realized that they gave me a standard room instead of a club or deluxe room. I could have booked a standard room at a much cheaper price instead of deluxe room.
Moreover I'm ready to pay for a club room upgrade.
The room allotted to me was an old room with no proper ventilation in the bathroom. Old type bathroom fittings difficult to use ,No soaps in bathroom, no guest stationery, no in room service menu. Everything I asked and provided. The condition of in room service menu is pathetic. A photocopy just like in the cheap dhaba. And it's fortune group hotel. Please see the photos for clarification.
Never recommend this hotel and don't trust fortune hotels.

I have done close to a 100 reviews and stayed in several hotels across India and world, so I know what I am talking about. This hotel is a disaster. It is old, staff is clueless, dimly let, bad breakfast, smelly rooms, average location. What more should I say ?
Stayed here for 12 hours and I am thankful I stayed here no more. Room given to us was very very old and had the typical hotel smell (bad one). We ordered baby food for our 22 month old, we asked the hotel to make it non spicy but it was spicy. We refused to eat and asked to take it back.
While checking out, they charged me for it. Firstly, no decent hotel charges for baby food. When I said that the food was bad and we sent it back, the hotel staff said we have checked with chef, it was not spicy and you have to pay for it. For Rs. 290, this was the worst behaviour I have seen from a hotel staff. We ate little breakfast and packed 3 spoons of Kesari bath for our baby, for that the hotel tells us that we allowed you to take extra food for free. Highly deplorable behaviour.
The Skyy lounge is hopeless, so dont go there with any great expectations. Swimming pool was closed. It was a nightmarish experience. We paid Rs, 3000 for the night. I wouldnt pay Rs. 1000 if I had to stay there again.
There are many better hotels in Trivandrum, please stay there even if they are 300-400 rupees extra

The hotel room is in a bad shape and the staffs are very impolite. Will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Had very bad stay experience. The pool is closed for maintenance and not mentioned in the booking site. When inquired about the same, they just replied to speak to the booking site. Felt that they don’t have any responsibility on their guests. Asked to wait and after sometime and duty manager replied nothing can be done. Felt that they don’t care about their guests…No WiFi in the hotel when inquired they said WiFi connect down in Trivandrum.. NOT VALUE FOR MONEY

I booked 2 rooms for four people at South Park. There were quite a few details to sort out which included varying times of check out, language issues for my guests etc. Everything was so well taken care off and no request was too much. The rooms as such are tidy, felt safe and had plenty of amenities that were clean.
At the time of booking, I was aware that the guests would be divided on two floors but Ms. Aneesha at reception offered to make arrangements for us all to be on the same floor-and this was without even requesting! Many thanks also to Mr Sinodh who gave his contact details should any of the guests have issues on checking out or getting access to booked taxis during late hours. Everyone we met at reception, restaurant or even at the front door service were only too happy to help. I am very grateful to Ms. Aneesha who offered my in laws an extra 2 hours to stay on after check out in their rooms in order to tie in with the arrival of their taxis. This is so really appreciated considering that again, this was not requested. The taxi booked by hotel for airport drop off had no issues waiting either. The willingness of the staff there to go the extra mile is very evident in their actions making our overall stay very memorable.

Spa was too good to get a nice massage with steam bath. Located inside the hotel The South Park. Also, the body scrub made a big difference in skin after applying sandal wood oil scrub. First time experience, it was too good for me.

Terrible service at the Oceana Spa inside. Manager 'Vijay' at the front desk is not interested in what you want but will try and force some combo pack on you. It's clear this place is running on commissions and not on customer satisfaction. When I insisted on using the service I came for, his face changed and he started behaving very rudely. When asked to see the steam facility that follows the massage service, he asked me what the need was for that. So I made him return my payment and took my business elsewhere. The South Park Hotel is not what is used to be. It's trashy, like the adult TV show, really.

I use trip advisor for all my booking extensively. I rely on the feedback from fellow travellers but also feel rest assured while booking with a Taj or ITC as their services are very consistent across their properties. So, while Trivandrum has a Taj property I decided to try out the South Park based on the feedback and it helped that it is a relatively new hotel. About an hour after I booked on MMT, I received a call from the hotel confirming the booking. When they enquired on the reason for travel I mentioned it was parents 45th wedding anniversary. My parents did find the hotel very good and were satisfied with the services. 20th being their check out date, they went down for breakfast where the hotel surprised them (and me when I heard of it) with a lovely cake. It is the small things and attention to detail which are remembered and shows the care one takes. I must add that my parents found everything else in the hotel to be good as well and that coming from my father who used to travel a lot and stay at very good properties, sure speaks a lot about the property.

Hi There,
Because Kerala is a banned =Dry state= , There were not many bars in this area. But at the Fortune hotel because of its high class they did have a small bar there for the benefit of tourists. And also the service of alcohol within their restaurant facilities too.
If nothing else, ask the reception desk of the hotel for any other places for alcohol.
