Palmleaves is a family run village beach hotel, just 16 KM from Trivandrum international Air port, 20 kms from Trivandrum city, and 6kms from Technopark.A pristine and safe beach is just in front of our pool. Palmleaves is for people on leisure, to spend time with nature as it is in rural Kerala, experiencing Kerala village life. Our guests can see the fishermen at work every morning in-front of our beach and may join them in fishing.Fresh fish can be bought from them to be prepared for your taste. We have a newly constructed open restaurant just on the beach among palm trees, and it is thatched with coconut leaves. There are not any other such facilities in Trivandrum and it is great to read a book or enjoy the sea, sunset sitting in the open restaurant when you are served fresh home cooked cuisine. For a relaxing and authentic Kerala experience, away from city, you are welcome to Palmleaves.

Compared to the existing alternatives in Trivandrum, the Palmleaves Beach Resort was the best choice for my purposes and extremely practical. It is not too far from the airport, is extremely quiet, has parking spaces in the courtyard and is right on the beach. In addition, the owner and staff were very friendly and flexible. Communication was smooth.
The hotel itself is very beautiful in Indian style and gives you the feeling of being in a private beach house. My room was large with its own balcony and a view of the sea. The bed was very comfortable.
I really enjoyed the walks on the long sandy beach. Watching the wildlife and fishermen was very nice and relaxing.
Unfortunately, there is also rubbish in some places. But I have also seen this in other places and it has nothing to do with the hotel. If you are afraid of dogs, you should know that, like everywhere else, there are street dogs. The dogs at the hotel are very sweet and reserved, however.
Overall, I see great potential in this hotel. I really enjoyed being there and, if I could, I would like to buy it and change the things I didn't like.
Unfortunately, I have to honestly say that the rooms are not very well maintained and are not cleaned very well. This was particularly noticeable after my second visit: the windows of the balcony door had not been cleaned for a while, the bathroom had not been cleaned either, the fittings in the bathroom were already damaged by the sea air and urgently needed to be replaced with more resistant materials, the beautiful tiles in the bathroom had, I believe, never been cleaned and were full of limescale and dirt stains (including the wooden door). The originally white towels and bed linen had large areas of grey and brown stains. They are probably only washed with cold water, which is a no-go for hotel towels, for example. I would throw these towels away and never give them to a guest. There were cobwebs above the cupboard. The ceiling fan was thickly covered in dust.
Due to the lack of cleanliness, I am therefore only giving a rating of 3 points.
I hope that cleanliness will be taken seriously in the future and that regular basic cleaning of all surfaces will be introduced so that international guests will enjoy visiting this beautiful place again and again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. The rooms are spacious, clean and provided with a wonderful balcony overlooking the pool and the sea. Located on a very quiet area of the beach…you effectively have a private beach villa for the price of a room.
The breakfast is included and is both generous and delicious. The owner Matthew is a true gentleman. He is very kind and friendly and cannot do enough to make sure you have a perfect stay. He is also a great chef! The evening meals were just as incredible as the breakfasts. We’ll definitely stay here again for a quiet poolside/beach side retreat.
Thank you to Matthew and the team

I enjoyed my stay at Palm Leaves & Mathew’s hospitality though there is room for improvement. Having booked six months prior I requested screening in the room which was not available until after arrival at the resort. Also there was no hot water available for a few days, this is essential for having treatments.
The staff were extremely helpful given English is their second language, particularly Fayas. Perhaps they could be given more training in hospitality & dealing with a variety of requests. Maybe the yoga hall upstairs & on the beach could be covered with tarps to keep them clean.

I had a nice staying in this resort for 3 nights.
What I liked:
- specious room with comfortable beds
- very clean towels
- Mathew the owner and his staff were very nice, always ready to help and assist
- very good breakfast and lunch
- very beautiful and quite place
- beautiful beach nearby (can hear the sound of waves from the room)
What I disliked and need to be improve:
- bed sheets (our bed sheet was actually made from 2 parts. When we asked for a proper bed sheet they said having it only like that)
- room was smelly (persistent mold smell- after a few days we got used with it)
- opaque curtains at the windows
- mosquito nets at the windows
- room and bathroom more clean (spider webs everywhere, floor not so clean)
- water in the pool was not so clean
- stray dogs were all the time on the pool area
- refrigerator old and not so clean
But In all, we had a very good stay and experience. We hope to come back one day!

Many thanks for the wonderful stay in Palm Leaves.
We are a group of 4 persons in November 2023 and a group of 5 persons in March 2024 who enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and the caring staff always reminding us that it is time for medicine, treatment, breakfast, tea a.s.o.
After many other treatments we already enjoyed here we found the most competent, lovely and attached therapists.
The kitchen was always in time and food very good. The Ayurveda food was a real surprise. It was just excellent! We will miss it a lot.
We appreciated also he good tea.
Last but not least Dr. Harry contributed that our pulse i.e. all doshas came again into balance, that our pains melted during the night and that we could sleep well again.
We are sure the improvements will stay for a long time and we thank you from all of our heart for all you did for us.
We wish Palm Leaves a prosperous future and we are sure that we are back as soon as possible.

Somewhere in India,
I have been back home for a week, back from India, and I am still dreaming of the Palmleaves Beach Resort, the right place at the right time, with its very friendly host Mathew and his daughter Shravani, who were accommodating to all our questions and concerns, its extremely friendly, helpful team and our excellent medical and Ayurvedic treatment, accompanied by a tasty and lovingly arranged meal, tailored to our different needs.
Palmleaves Beach Resort, as the name suggests, is surrounded by many coconut-bearing and shady palm trees, the entrance to the hotel lined with exotic plants of all kinds, lovingly cared for. The sea is not far away, often wildly raging, then inviting you to take a swim, peaceful and quiet.
In the early hours of the morning you can hear the fishermen launching their boats at the same time. In the evening, their lights shine in a line, far out at sea, and flash at us, hoping to return at dusk with full nets, accompanied by morning prayers and the chants of the nearby churches.
Puthenthope, I don't know the meaning of the name, but at the end is the word Hope.
Palmleaves Beach Resort - a place that invites you to dream.

The service is pathetic; they only want to extract money from us as an advance. The rooms were not clean, the pool was dirty, and there were even stray animals inside the compound.
When we requested the bill, they promised to send it via WhatsApp on the same day. However, it has been two weeks, and it has become my daily routine to call that person every day for our bill. Unfortunately, he is now ignoring our calls.

I had a chance to visit this resort. To start there are not proper sign boards to point to the resort form the main road (NH -47) .Once you take a detour from the high way unless you have a GPS you are lost and you can hardly find any local people who know the existence of this place. Finally managed to reach the Resort. The resort is small and has got around 10 rooms from what I was able to count.
It has got a pool facing the beach . the Pool was dirty with bits of tiles missing on the bottom which scrapes you leg when moving around.. The resort is heavily understaffed and the few staff there, are not properly trained, rude and clueless when you ask them something.(Some of them looked like henchmen rather than service staff)
The Food was overpriced for the quantity and choice that was provided. The buffet hardly had 10 items including pappad and pickles.
The experience got bitter afternoon, When we saw other guests fully drunk and lying outside our room by the door. There was no one from the resort to move him or clean the mess he had created. All we wanted to do was to leave the place as early as possible and that is what we did exactly.
So for me this place is a definite No No especially if you are travelling with family and given the other options that are available at trivandrum

Response from Palmleavesbeach, Owner at Palmleaves Beach Resort
Responded 2 Feb 2015
We are situated half hour drive from the airport in the beach road, and with the details we provide anyone can reach us with minimum fuss. If there is any confusion, one could call me for accurate directions. Our staff is recruited from around here but they are part of the local area and we only recruit local people as we are committed to the local economy. We train them and if every you felt them rude, we are sorry, they are very gentle and lovable rural people who lack the city finesse. We are not a city hotel with 100 people walking in but a rural accommodation with a homely ambiance. The food we make are freshly prepared just as cooked in our homes and so comparing our menu with busy city hotel or restaurant may not do any justice to us as the dynamics and economics are very different. This is not an excuse, but we provide good freshly prepared food. As in all other hotels many kind of people come here to stay and there are certain characters who end up stoned. Sorry for that, the person was so drunk that he was heavy to remove till he got some of his senses Let me assure something, New year was a very tough and busy season and it is true we could not care for you as we wanted and we regret that. Any time you would have come other than this you would have a different opinion about us.
