Nice experience.Excellent Vibe ,perfect for an outing for a day or two. Really enjoyed the stay. The senary from the room is great. Food was super.....Ayurvedic centre is having good amenisties and one should try one..Staff was polite and well behaved..
Property is in bad shape, no maintenance seemed to have done for last 2 years. Restaurant is not working, food is served from another hotel (after 30-40minute delay than promised time). Swimming pool is the only available outdoor activity, that too was not avilable on 2days during our stay. Recommend to avoid booking.
Rooms are very spacious and majestically done,But there ends all the good part. We went after verifying multiple times whether everything is in working conditions(because of Covid Situation,u can never be sure these days) and got reply everything except paddle boats are perfectly OK. But when we reached basic facilities like even Hot water was not available.TV was not working .AC stopped working from 2nd day.Swimming Pool was dirty and took 2 days to be made OK-well,somewhat...(the manger made arrangements to use pool in the nearby property,if that is any consolation)..All common areas dirty and uncleaned. There were no staff to any of our requirements like even basic drinking water,The basic toilet accessories like Soap,Shampoo etc are not available even after requesting many times.................. Food Part was the worst...No restaurant was working(Chef missing -was the answer we got)..Breakfast was arranged from a nearby property, consistently late by 30-60 minutes from the time mutually agreed..Consistently Idli/Upma everyday but at a 4 star resort Buffet price,u will realize later(which was slightly reduced later after a "friendly" discussion-but still left wanting u to warn all ur friends never to take food from there ).... The only thing guaranteed was the pickup and drop in a boat to resort(provided by the resort) whenever u hv to go out-but that also went awfully wrong finally-with we-3 families ,with aged parents and 4 kids left waiting helplessly for more than 35-45 minutes in the dark & isolated parking ground for the only staff available,(who tried his best to help) to be free and come with boat ...But in spite of all this we have good memories of this Poovar trip.,but thats certainly not because of this resort stay We can understand the covid related difficulties, but why the Joys management take booking if they are not able to offer the basic services, let alone luxuries? Its highly unethical & unprofessional…
I loved the ambience in Joys, poovar. They served authentic Kerala food. The service and the hospitality of the resort, was admirable.I had gone there with cousins and enjoyed my time there. I would go back once the ayurveda is functional again for a one month massage and stay.
The resort was on island ,the approach to the resort was by boat .The ambient was very good and relaxing..Rooms were spacious and luxurious with modern amenities and fixtures, specially open to sky bathroom was totally different and unique experience.Amenities like restaurants, swimming pools were up to the mark.Services were good and staff was polite, specially Mr.Arun and Mr.Kevin were cooperative.Overall it was very good experience.
Awful welcome/staff, very bad service, DIRTY and noisy rooms, showers were not working well. Only a few meals were available on the menu, we had to beg to be served and it was not even good. The only positive thing was to take a little boat to reach. I would recommend you AVOID the place. Really. The photos on Agoda misled us.
We had a short family trip The problem with this place is it is hugely over rated with sub standard or poor service zero value for money we had gone there seeing the earlier good reviews but found those reviews were atleast 3 years old except for the pool there is nothing food is also not value for money
the boat ride to the property was great. there is a flip - he will only offer one ride to and fro free. ola and uber are difficult to get but the resort watchman will arrange a auto for you. We arrived early at 9.30am, the resort manager was adamant to give us the room only by 2.00 pm demanding Rs. 2000 for an early check in.but he was generous enough to let us use the nearby havelia resorts pool as their own pool was in maintainence. the bed linen was stained. the bathroom had one wobbly tile and was old fashioned. one of the french windows did not have a lock and an adult could easily get in., the reception staff is unresponsive to any assistance e.g towels, room service - it is easier to get them if you spot one of the housekeeping ladies on the way. there is nothing much to do in the resort other than the pool…
Joys resort have a very good and spacious rooms. Staffs are very courteous and ambience is too good. They also have well maintained pool that can be used till 9 pm. We also made use of the pedal boat available with them. Restaurant though needs to work up on the menu as the choices are limited. Definitely recommended. P.S- when you go for boating to the estauray point- never go to samudra restaurant - they are cheats with exorbitant pricing of food items
The property is amazing and the staff is very courteous, but the service is poor. The manager/incharge at reception is humble and proactive, but only available from 8am-10pm...similarly, the food is good, but service is slow. And you will end up following up for almost everything you asked for.
