A beautiful jungle retreat! Cool, calm, green, but still within walking distance to shops. Very clean; comfortable & good bed. Great hop water. We were welcomed with smiles for everyone. Check in was quick & easy. Sitting on the balcony of our little hut listening to frogs & birds was bliss. This is such a magical place.

This is the most amazing place. Right within trees. Beautiful birds viewed from your own cabin. The owners are wonderful and the food delicious. We booked 2 days and stayed 4. Would loved to have stayed even longer! A must stay place for nature lovers. There is a wonderful national park nearby. I highly recommend the guided walk and bamboo boat ride. The landscape is amazing 🤩

We walked into this place feeling surreal. Although situated in Kumily town, Monsoon Retreat is truly an Eco stay surrounded by lush green and elevated cottages to mirror tree houses preserving the flora and fauna of the place. The steps to the cottages are a bit steep and can be a challenge for aged people. As a sustainable enterprise, they provided us with essential amenities and delicious food. This is a place for nature enthusiasts and not for someone seeking luxury. The bathroom was clean, and the rooms were spacious, accommodating 3 pax. We have to let them know in advance regarding the time and choice of menu for our meal inorder for them to serve us hot. The staff Mr. Murali and his team were kind and helpful. The owner Mr. Subish, a wildlife conservationist, took care of all our needs from welcoming us till our departure. We had messaged him before we actually made the booking and he was very helpful in clarifying our doubts and letting us know how to plan our other activities. The location is close to Periyar Tiger Reserve hence an ideal place to stay for those planning on adventurous activities. This is a place for those seeking out peace and harmony from our otherwise monotonous routine.

Beautiful homestay in an amazing location with best services, definitely recommend. The rooms were very well maintained and washrooms, hygienic. Food was very tasty and they ensured they check with us on our food needs before the food time. The proprietor being a wildlife conservationist had a great knowledge on the places around thekkady and he ensured we had a great time for a day's time we had to spend in thekkady. He provided the best suggestions to make our stay worthwhile. Must visit property.

The best place to have an adventurous weekend with family and friends. Thanks to Subish and Monsoon retreat team, our stay and visit in Thekady was mind blowing. The place is fully covered with different types of plants cardamom, bamboo, orchids, papaya etc. And we were staying among this wonderland in tree house which made our stay more beautiful. Home made food was served hot and their appam, panneer curry was our favorite thanks to Murali and team for taking care of food. The trip was unplanned at the last moment, but we came back with lots of memories. Subish helped in planing out our visit starting from elephant safari to mountain views, waterfall, tea plantation and kerala's famous cultural arts kalaripayatu.

From the beginning of our arrival, the manager Abhit and one of the staff members, Jobin, took so much care of us, carried our heavy luggages to the cottage. During our stay, they put so much effort to arrange the food we needed, after being sick from food, even took us to town to get some medicine. Mama (mum’s owner) gave us some Ayurvedic medicine to held our stomachs to get better and it was magically effective! We haven’t met the owner but his family and the place proved the owner’s values and his dedication to the conservation of the tropical biodiversity of Kerala. Thank you for this amazing stay.

Excellent place..a true forest stay experience..like a jungle life i.e without tv ac and light.. owner is very friendly and we had delicious veg keralite breakfast and candle light dinner..only 5-6 cottages and owner takes care if any big family has booked already then he won't take booking for remaining 1-2 cottages as to give complete jungle experience and enjoy chirping of birds and other species..

It's time to write up a little long review about Monsoon Retreats Ecostay, Thekkady. That we went in April 2021,as 13members of our family. From welcoming till we check out all the guidance was given by property owner cum wildlife researcher Subish. That was really great and we had special tea made from organic spices taken from same place(Because the stay is inside the Cardomom Field) was just awesome. It is basically a treehouse stay with separate dining hall. It was not a hotel food but we had a nice home cooked breakfast and dinner, it's really really Good try there. Heard and felt the dev drops on nights, if u are a nature lover or planning for a very refreshing stay then you will love the Nature's sound it's a gifted nature stay. And Subish's guidance for sight seeing plans and arrangements was excellent, because we don't know anything in Thekkady before. And here in thekkady if we won't start earlier in the morning we will miss out more things, if we miss the time Subish will watsapp us like "it's time to go bro :)". I didn't see anyone before like this much caring. In our stay we had campfires, barbecues. This is fully a nature based stay with nature sounds. So, definitely it is a must try stay if u are planning for Thekkady Vacation.
