We stayed at Chrissies for one night during our visit to the Periyar Forest Reserve. It is a great location amid lush greenery and no disturbance despite being just a short walk to the main market area.
The most amazing thing was the art work all over including our rooms which gave it a very aesthetic look. The service was courteous and friendly.
The breakfast although modest was really tasty. We loved the homemade Jam and fruit preserve.
The only thing we probably missed was a ceiling fan and the electric kettle in the room.
Great place to stay in Thekkady for nature lovers at a very good price.

This might well be one of my favourite hotels EVER
(bold statement I know as I have stayed in A LOT of hotels!) ........
When I arrived here after the long and bumpy journey from Munnar I just felt like I might vomit and I honestly had no idea what to expect from the Thekkady region but I was instantly warmly greeted with a hot tea in to what felt more like a home than a hotel by the two lovely hosts, Adel & Anshad, on reception. But, with its own yoga studio and a beautiful roof top pool with views out to the Western Ghats, it still has all the charm and luxury of a hotel!
BUT my absolute favourite things about this place is the super cool art work that guests are encouraged to decorate the walls with, the fact I was given a room with possibly the best decor and slogan above the bed (this room was pretty much made for me), that it serves the best falafels and the fact that one of the hosts here spent a lot of time in my home county of Dorset. Not too mention the MANY monkeys hanging out (literally) just yards from my balcony. I just genuinely love this place, the cool vibe here and everything it’s stands for (eco friendly with things like refillable water stations, everything home cooked, valuing their staff). I am gutted I’m only here for one night!
Definitely check this place out if you’re ever in the area!

This is a gem not to be missed. A quiet retreat set in a beautiful garden filled with wildlife and greenery. The welcome by the owner/manager Adel sets the stage for a respite from travel for the visitor. Greeted with a warm cup of tea or coffee...or cool lemon juice, Adel made us feel at home immediately. The accommodations were clean and welcoming. We spent hours on our porch just enjoying ourselves and watching the monkeys at play. The views from the top floor are not to be missed. The pool and yoga room were inviting. Location is right outside Periyar National Park.

Breakfast was delicious. The staff was kind and helpful. The price was extremely reasonable. I would have been willing to spend more.

I cannot say enough. I only wish I could have spent more time there.

It was so wonderful to be greeted with the most enthusiastic welcome when I arrived. Adel, the owner sets the bar so high in hospitality- nothing is a problem or too much trouble and he and all the staff at the hotel create such a relaxed amd positive atmosphere.
The rooms are great- super clean and everything you need - with the joy of watching the black monkeys from the balcony.
I loved the rooftop space and the yoga classes with such a lovely yoga teacher in a dedicated airy yoga room within the hotel.
Adel and his team were brilliant at recommending and helping me to book activities. They also ensured a lovely fruit/ muesli/ delicious homemade bread breakfast was available in time for some very early starts.
I can’t recommend this place highly enough. I will definitely be back, there is something very special about it that makes you feel so happy and relaxed.

This place is a real gem. The staff is not only welcoming and attentive, and they go out of their way to set up anything for you or give advice on what to do. There’s a great hang out area by the pool on top, as well as a hangout area below. Breakfast is wonderfully basic and perfect with everything homemade, even the bread. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, hot water and good Wi-Fi, with a great view and nice size balcony, and hot water is waiting outside your room early in case you want some early tea etc. You might see a buggy creature crawling on walls at night, but this is the jungle, so sit back and enjoy—bugs won’t hurt you! I would highly recommend Chrissie’s!

Chrissies was just lovely. The owner and his staff were so friendly and accommodating, we couldn't have asked for more. He personally took us to our room, which was probably the nicest, cleanest and cosiest room we had stayed in during our whole trip. Beautifully decorated with a lovely balcony and lush surroundings. He was always around to offer advice and help with making bookings and when we decided to leave a day early he even refunded us, which was above and beyond what we'd expected. We were greeted with smiles and a friendly chat every day and even invited to join him and selected guests for a new year's eve celebration on the roof. If I ever went back to Thekkady, I wouldn't stay anywhere else. We absolutely loved it.

Chrissie’s Hotel is a wonderful choice for stay. It is rare to find a place that pays so much attention to its’ guests needs. Adel, the place’s manager, is really the sweetest and most helpful man one could ask for.
There are great yoga classes, led by Christine, available twice a day.
There is a beautiful garden ,that totally gives you some fresh air to breath in the somewhat rustic kumily

A group of 4 friends we spent 3 nights at the Chrissie's Hotel. We are extremely happy with the rooms each with a balcony overlooking a gorgeous garden full of life - birds, monkeys, squirrels. You can enjoy it for hours! Great breakfast and some of the foods (jams, honey) are produced by the owner of the hotel - Chrissy! But the most valuable of this hotel are the people who work there. I cannot express my huge appreciation to the other owner Adel who literally organized our stay in Thekkady in the best possible way. All the time we stay at the hotel we feel like we visit friends. I highly recommend the property and I should add also that the prices are very reasonable.

Chrissie's Hotel is right out of a fairy tale. The flora and fauna around, mesmerizes you. It is like living in an enchanted forest. Every nook and corner is a different shade of happiness and art. The rooms were clean with the promised facilities. The balcony is to die for, overlooking the garden. It has an amazing pool with a rooftop experience. Evening time you will witness notorious monkey and mosquitoes, and the staff very carefully warns you beforehand. But beyond 7pm, you can carelessly loiter around. The breakfast though simple is a fulfilling spread. Staff is courteous and attentive. They do not have lunch/ dinner options, but there are plenty of options nearby. The walk from the reception to the rooms might be tricky for old and disabled, but for us it was a pure bliss. When people around the world come together to paint their imagination, you know the place is totally worth it.

YOU HAVE TO STAY AT CHRISSIE's!! I cannot recommend this hotel enough. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed with the warmest and hospitable welcome by the owner Adel and instantly felt at home. The hotel itself is beautiful, with balconies that overlook an amazing garden with beautiful trees where you see lots of wildlife like monkeys and birds. The breakfast was delicious, with a great spread of things and the pool is just dreamy. They organised a bamboo rafting trek for us which was great and made things very easy for us. The main highlight for us though was the staff and we will always remember Chrissie's as a very special place because of them! Thank you!!
