Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the staff, with a sandalwood thilakam and a sweet "Namaskaram". Perhaps one of the best welcomes so far in our trip to Kerala. The tea they served was aromatic and refreshing after a long trip from our previous destination, so much so that I asked them where did they get it. The rooms had a rustic look with all the modern amenities blending in seemlessly the mattresses were comfortable, sheets clean and the patio furniture was the star of the show. The television was easy to operate which is somewhat a feat in itself. The dinner experience started with a few hiccups but the staff managed to make up for it with their prompt service. The salt content could be reduced in the food though, specifically the North Indian dishes. The next morning we were greeted by a monkey family which made the experience immersive, along with the croaking of frogs and chirping of birds. The breakfast made up for last day as there were a lot of delicious options, made perfectly. Although, the baked items were a bit dry and the chairs could use some cleaning. Overall it was amazing experience and would recommend this place to anyone visiting Thekkady!
Special shoutout to Deeya chechi for being so helpful and friendly throughout!

It was very pleasant experience staying in The Elephant Court. You will receive a very warm wellcome upon reaching the hotel by women in Kerala's traditional attire, you will definitely feel relaxed and relieved from hectic travel. The location is very near to all the events, shows and also the periyar wild life sanctuary, rooms are clean and cozy, our children liked the play zone very much we played carroms late night and there is a good gym with equipment and a swimming pool for all ages, staff at dining and reception are very friendly and helpful. They conduct events for every festival to celebrate with guests at the time, even foreigners feel this very interesting and inclusive. Mrs./Ms. Deba helped us a lot in planning our itenerary for the days we stayed there. Overall very good experience, I will definitely recommend to have a stay here whenever you get a chance to trip to Thekkady.

A cosy resort with friendly staff and amazing restaurant and in close proximity to many of the places to visit.
We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were well furnished, cosy and comfortable with a large balcony overlooking greenery where we enjoyed our morning tea.
Special mention to Ms. Neeraja who welcomed us when we arrived with a smile and helped in planning our trip better and in organising our Gavi safari.
The food was awesome with special mention to their soups. Their attentiveness to our food request was commendable. Their staff were proactive to ensure our comfort while dining as well: they provided additional cushion during every meal without asking to ensure height adjustment of chairs for our little one.
High tea in the evening near swimming pool was enjoyable.
We utilised their in house ayur spa services too. Our kids enjoyed spending time in the activity centre.
Would highly recommend staying here if you are planning for a trip to Thekkedy

It should be a 5 star and the structure is well nestled in the greenery, the rooms are gigantic with a nice private terrace. The bathroom is also huge with everything you need. First-rate hospitality. But a few too many mistakes. As someone else previously pointed out, the mini fridge in the room is really noisy (I unplugged it too) and it's not possible that the door onto the common corridor is half entirely grained glass: the light from the lamps and daylight passes through because there is no curtain and the lock is perplexing, in short the door needs to be changed with something modern. Be careful that with such large rooms it takes a moment to add a bed for the child and here the families with children are the majority, and they are not silent. Dinner (à la carte) and breakfast were good, but it seems that the kitchen always has a few too many difficulties. There were 23 of us sitting and a table of 8 was eating, when we ordered they told us the wait was 25 minutes! Then they took less, luckily, but if they aren't organized to order à la carte, it's better to go back to the buffet. Weak Wi-Fi in the room with numerous disconnections. But if I had to come back here I would choose it again.

Situated on a hilltop, the hotel featured an expansive foyer, a delightful restaurant, lovely gardens home to black monkeys, a sizable pool, and spacious bungalow-style rooms equipped with every amenity. The breakfast and dinner buffets provided a wide range of meals and for breakfast a wide range of made to order egg options were available! The staff were consistently friendly and very helpful. Advised not to leave your door open for too long or a monkey might come in!

Clean, spacious room with very modern bathroom, and cool relaxing balcony with ornamental timber awning looking out onto lush tropical gardens.
😢 Bring back the top sheet! This world-wide trend in hotels shows no signs of abating. How can a “luxury” hotel be too stingy to include a top sheet on the bed? Air con is too cold and noisy, doonas are too hot, so a top sheet is the perfect middle ground.
Thin and aged towels, as with most hotels in India. Hopeless Wi-Fi - couldn't stay connected for more than a few minutes at a time.

Warm welcome was there when I with my daughter reached there. We stayed in room no 117. All clean . They guided us properly regarding Monkey - playing in front of room. Very polite behaviour of all staffs specially I want to mention about Deva with smiling face always . Enjoyed complementary snacks & tea besides well maintained swimming pool, Location wise very convenient- just takes 5 mins drive to Kathakali centre & Periyar boating. Varieties of food in menu. Prompt service. Spa was nice . Only 1 trouble I faced difficulty to navigate our room sp during night - more signage will be comfortable.

My Husband and I were on a short trip to Kerela in the city of Thekkady. We had one of the best time of our life. The Hotel was so traditional, luxurious, clean, spacious and filled with Green herbal trees with a gorgeous feeling of being close to forest. Beautiful birds and monkeys around in nature. The staff were very professional, courteous and polite, specially Abhijit Baidya who took great care of us. We shared great views of life’s experiences and social culture of Kerela. The food was excellent. Hotel served a huge variety of fusion as well as traditional authentic cuisines. I highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I stayed at The Elephant Court. We loved it there. The place was very tropical and peaceful. Loved the elephant theme decor. We were greeted by the staff up front which was very welcoming. They provided us the warm towels to wipe our hands and Kiwi juices along with the plantain chips which were amazing!! Loved how they put in effort on every details. The dining staff was amazing and catered to us during our lunch eventhough we got there after lunch time, very accomedating. The room was very cozy and loved the balcony. It was my husband's first time in India and one of his wish was to see some monkeys which he got to see on our balcony :-) in the morning when we woke up. We did not feed them since we were instructed not to :-). The bed and the pillows were very comfortable. I would definitely recommend my friends and family to stay here.

This hotel is located deep inside a maze of small streets. However, once you are inside you can hardly hear any sound of traffic. The veritable gem is the area around their pool which sits somewhere at the center of the hotel. The room was large and the bath area too. The buffet breakfast had a wide choice. They also usually have complimentary tea ( and snacks) from 4.30 to 5.30pm. Our room also came with dinner and it was also great. The staff are very helpful, courteous and professional.

All the rooms have AC. now. although it's not needed according to the climate there. There are also lot of changes now. They have an activity centre and the coordinators are really helpful.

My wife and I were planning to take the Periyar boat tour, but we missed it. From what I heard from the Hotel Receptionist that you need to buy the ticket ahead of time and make sure the tickets are registered under your name. You should get to the embarkation point two hour before the embarkation time.
There are more places to choose from in the Thekkady area.
