Family vacation for 5 days to Kerala. Spice Village was the best hotel out of 3 we stayed. Excellent service, food and serene beauty around the cottage. My daughter wanted to have Coconut Chamandi in a particular style. The chef came up to our table , I described the chutney and it was prepared exactly the same she desired. Breakfast...

The first impressions I had of Spice Village was that it had a strong suggestion of being a kind of Ashram and indeed that grew over the three days I spent there. It is an eco-friendly hotel, I am not sure the word 'hotel quite fits the bills. The rooms are in very nice straw-covered cottages. They are clean, comfortable...

My husband and I recently toured several areas in India and the Spice Village was a pleasant surprise as we did not expect it to be so comfortable. The grounds are lush and well kept. The cottages are extremely comfortable and spacious. The cottages have a spacious sitting area, room for all our our shopping purchases from Delhi and Jaipur...

Two nights is not enough. The little cottages are quaint. They aren't luxurious but are clean, comfortable & fit with the surroundings & ethos of the resort. We had an early departure to the Tiger Reserve & there were drinks & eats before we left. Breakfast was great - the best Dosas on our trip. And one dish with Syrian...

We stayed 2 nights at the Spice Village and would have been happy to stay longer. It is really like a village with little houses scattered around the huge well maintained grounds. There are plenty of trees and flowers, it feels like a botanical garden. The hotel is very eco conscious, it was great to see. The food at the...

This property is beautiful. The location is very good. The restaurant was good. I love the concept that the property is a village. We were leaving very early in the morning and the staff made sure that although breakfast would not be served for a few hours - they prepared a light breakfast for us.

Nice serene atmosphere, walkways . lot of birds around chirping away. you would need mosquito repellents, liquid ideal. Its an ideal place to jog with acres of areas to run on .Has a small pool. No TV in the room so kids have a great outdoor time. The elephant safaris are available nearby, so is the thekkady safari. Boat rides...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Spice Village is an eco resort in the hills(thekkady) near the Periyar wildlife sanctuary. A cluster of tribal style huts set in a beautiful spice garden is a great escape for most tourists from the heat of the plains, and also a great place for some adventure activities. We have a comfortable pool, an ayurvedic spa, we organise treks into the forest, bamboo rafting and many more. A walk through the property itself is a great way to explore many aspects of nature and the green initiatives undertaken at this eco resort. ... more   less
