As the name suggests, it was very Spicy experience of my recent trip to Kerala. The whole Village is full of different Indian Spice Trees and paradise for a Spice Lover. You feel rejuvenated in such a fantastic natural surroundings.Spend time, take morning Walk, do Yoga, relax after a stormy Ayurveda session and good Food. While in Thekkady take river...

It is a CGH Earth property.......do i have to say anything else?? The name itself talks about the property. Beautiful Cottages. They have planted all kind of spices in their garden areas. Also, they have a beautiful kitchen garden or rather farm. The staff is well trained and humble. The evening activities are good. in short there is no chance...

Just beautiful from arrival until departure. Staff are very pleasant, the grounds are magnificent. Rooms are quite simple but tastefully done and the bathroom products are excellent. We wish we had spent another night here to enjoy all this place has to offer.

We did not realise what a wonderful place this was until we arrived. The rooms are all cottages spread around the site which can be some distance from the main buildings and when raining can be a problem getting around - although they do provide umbrellas in all the cottages for such eventualities. Being somewhat out in the nature reserve...

Back for my second visit to Thekkady and Spice Village and the staff remembered me from 2 years previous and welcomed me HOME again. I toured the extensive organic gardens, enjoyed a cooking demo and attended yoga. Loved my cozy clean cottage, the cardamom tea and the grounds which are so beautifully kept. I highly recommend the CGH Earth Experience...

The journey to this hotel from Fort Kochi was spectacular at times and the hotel itself blessed by being in a warm, not hot or humid climate. It sits high in the mountains in a small town surrounded by tea/spice plantations and a nature reserve, as well as access to the Indian elephants. Certainly worth a stay if visiting Thekkady.

Fantastic property. Before I visited, I had got opinions from few of my friends that being a CGH property, it would be definitely good. And I am glad to say that I will also be giving similar opinions about it now. The property is definitely different than any other normal resorts. Few points: 1. It has cottages. All wooden and...

Spice Village Hotel is a very nice stop on the way to Madurai or to Kerala. The hotel has a lot to offer, nice location, beautiful rooms , a lovely bar and a very good restaurant. The nearby Periyar National Park is very nice, if you have, as we did, sunny weather.

Entering the lobby, I knew we were in for a good experience. Their entire design shows the resort like a small village, which makes the whole place charming. We saw some wild birds digging the ground for food, from the reception itself. A warm welcome later, the staff told us about free wifi and showed us their huge property. They...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Spice Village is an eco resort in the hills(thekkady) near the Periyar wildlife sanctuary. A cluster of tribal style huts set in a beautiful spice garden is a great escape for most tourists from the heat of the plains, and also a great place for some adventure activities. We have a comfortable pool, an ayurvedic spa, we organise treks into the forest, bamboo rafting and many more. A walk through the property itself is a great way to explore many aspects of nature and the green initiatives undertaken at this eco resort. ... more   less
