This hotel comprised of rooms in a bungalow style and some individual cottages set in lovely gardens. We stayed in the honeymoon cottage which was the size of a bedroom with a spacious bathroom and a large front balcony. Decor was more simple rustic and not plush. There are fans but no a/c though not necessary as the weather is...

Lovely tranquil hotel spread through the gardens up the hill. Not an easy place to find, but worth the effort. As it is a relatively small hotel the food choices were limited, particularly for breakfast, but what there was, was very tasty

The unusual approach to this hotel, set in the lushest of forests, created an air of excitement as we crossed the ‘bridge’ and arrived at Shalimar to the offer of a fruit juice and perfumed flannel to refresh ourselves after a long journey. Our room was attractively furnished, ensuite bathroom, much appreciated tea making equipment, a fridge and a veranda...

What a wonderful hotel set in lush gardens - staff were so friendly and the accommodation and food was excellent. The only criticism was that there were quite a few steps as it was on different levels.

It's indeed 'spice garden' and, more importantly, it's every bit a 'private hideaway'. Our stay here (29-31 Jan 2017) had a touch of exclusivity, as the resort layout gave us a sense of quiet privacy along with warm & luxurious hospitality - and all this in a refreshing, romantic setting in the lap of nature!! Our cottage, nestling in bamboo...

An excellent location with delightful individual bungalows in a tropical garden. Good food and very friendly and pleasant staff. Would highly recommend the Shalimar Spice and hope to visit again in the future.

We had a great stay at the Shalimar Spice Garden. Unfortunately it was very quiet when we were there with only one other bungalow occupied. We had a delicious lunch there and also dinner and the staff were very attentive. It was a short stay and we were only there one night and we got up really early to do...

This hotel is a hidden gem. Away from the bustle of Thekkady, it has large, well decorated rooms, a fantastic restaurant, and a super pool. The staff are terrific, from the front-of-house team, through the restaurant staff to the Ayurvedic masseuse - all are putting in 100% effort. The food in the restaurant is the best we'd tasted in over...

In the center of the spice growing region a luxury getaway on the hillside surrounded by all kinds of plsnts. A quiet zen like atmosphere with a super restaurant chef. Shirlee on reception is a sweetheart who makes sure you have a great time. We sure did. Our bungalow was so comfy and quaint. The pool is small but beautiful....

This hotel does not cater well for cold rainy weather. The only heating was a fan heater which we had to leave on for long periods. They have a small lounge with a fire but they did not put this on. They do not provide umbrellas in the rooms. Therefore we did not have an opportunity to enjoy the hammocks...

“The resort has very limited number of cottages and all are more or less equally good, as the setting/ambience is the same and just the amount of room space/size varies. We were in cottage No 222 which was just lovvveely and romantic.”

“Someone less mobile might find the main stepping-stone route to the cottages slightly challenging, so could ask for a cottage not far from the reception building, but there's an alternative, mainly concreted, way to the upper cottages that can be taken instead .”
