Highly Recommended ! Quick escape from plains and Kumily town. Great host ! Mr & Mrs Cyraic***** It was unplanned stay here. But turned out to be memorable experience. Highly recommended for friends and family. Very affordable and homely experience
I stayed at Pepper County for 2 nights as I travelled around Kerala. I had a wonderful time at Pepper County. The room was very clean and all necessary facilities were included. Spacious bathroom. There was also a lovely veranda to sit and enjoy the early evening. Breakfast was wonderful and everything I could want was provided for me. Cyriac and Dolli were the most amazing hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them and I was looked after superbly. I would definitely return if I am ever in the area. Thank you
Pepper County is one of the most affordable and serene place you can be in if you wish to stay away from the hustle-bustle of the city. The owner Mr.Cyriac Uncle is a wonderful host. Being pet friendly it was convenient for us to spend our new year there with our pug. Thank you.
Cyriac was a lovely host who made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. He also gave us a personal tour of his own spice plantation sharing his knowledge about the array of plants on his property and effortlessly led us through the plantation. Thekkady is well known around the world for its fresh spices - it was great to see spices in their natural home and comparing the freshness to the packet spices we would normally see in supermarkets. You feel like you are staying in a hotel at this home stay with the rooms well maintained, clean, and comfortable with panoramic views of Cyriac's spice plantation. The home stay cooking is delicious and the staff incredibly warm and generous. I would stay here again. FEATURES: Free Wifi; Air conditioning; Large beds; Spacious bathrooms; Incredible views; Personal nature tour; Driver accommodation on-site; Felt secure and safe; Delicious home stay cooking. *We booked our accommodation and private diver through Reverence Tours (reverencetours@gmail.com), who custom designed our South India itinerary to meet our travel needs and budget. They have long-standing relationships with local home stays like Pepper County. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.…
Imagine a modern villa in spice garden. Unfortunately we stayed only one night in this amazing home stay. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. We will be back for a week to explore the wonderful home stay resort and spice Garden of Pepper County!!! Santhoshkumar & Isabella Loosli.
We had a lovely stay. The bungalow is beautiful & we had spacious comfy rooms. Our host was very helpful & hospitable as were the staff, who made meals for us at some unusual times. Nothing was too much trouble. An added bonus was our conducted tour of the host’s spice garden.
Pepper county homestay is a comfortable place to stay. Mr Cyriac is an extremely kind and welcoming host. The rooms are large and have small verandahs to sit on. Very clean. The food is very good and plentiful. They organised a cake for our friends birthday. Staff are friendly and can't do enough. Would return. Just one comment... no where to sit if you want to catch a few rays of sunshine (you know what us Brits are like) could just do with a couple of sun loungers on the roof top. Not a complaint just a suggestion.
We booked this Homestay on the back of all the positive reviews and are very glad we did. Mr Cyriac and his wife Dolly are attentive and charming, always striving to give us the best possible experience. Their home is in the village of Kumily, which is fun to explore on foot, and the bustling tourist town of Thekkady is just a short car journey away. We loved our time in the Tiger Reserve there too. Accommodation is spacious and comfortable. Food is delicious and authentic. Staff are also very helpful. It was a joy to accompany Mr Cyriac on a walk around his estate, as well as to see his brother's neighbouring dairy farm. All in all a very pleasurable stay, thank you!
Rooms spacious well equipped tea/coffee making equipment hairdryer nice toiletries, we recommend the upstairs rooms with balcony surrounded by cardamon, pepper and lemongrass. Our host took us for a tour round his lovely gardens of which has a good selection of fruits. Windows and doors were mesh covered so you could leave open all night and be woken by the birds at 6am if you wish. not far from busy little town though its a steep walk back but worth it. Very pleasant and friendly guy who cooked our breakfast and dinner made wonderful soup. This was booked by our tour operator Citrus.
Cyriac greets you as you arrive and is very attentive. It is nice and quiet there so you can relax and listen to the birds. He carries out tours of his plantation which has everything to see that you will pay for a spice tour elsewhere. Breakfast has fruit recently gathered from his garden, particularly good was the passion fruit juice we had one morning. We ate an evening meal there as well which was 3 courses and very good.
