#23 of 80 hotels in Thekkady
Nestling in the natural beauty of the wilds Hotel Treetop is Thekkady's leading resort on the edge of Periyar Tiger Reserve. The perfect place to explore the magical sensation of the evergreen rain forest that straddles the tiny state of Kerala. The well spaced neatly laid out Gabled cottages and rooms with tiled roofs and un-plastered granite-stone exteriors are reminiscent of the colonial bungalows and blend into the landscaped hinterland harmoniously. The gourmet restaurant is stylishly laid out and spacious. Barbecues and Tandoor in the open alongside the campfire place in winter is another option.

The location of Tree Top is excellent . It's very close to Periyar National Park ,Thekkady boating and local market with lots of spice shops. The entire resort is beautiful , well planned and landscaped .They have lots of activities for family and kids. Staff are very friendly and attentive . All safety practices are in place if you plan to go during this Covid times.  Staff members wore masks and everything was clean and sanitized. We travelled with family and kids during Covid 19 pandemic  and felt really safe

We stayed 2 nights. Location was perfect could walk to could walk to lovely shops and restaurants. The pool was beautifully maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. What let this hotel down was the cleanliness and the food was very mediocre.

We were here at the end of December including New Year’s Eve. Initial impression wasn’t great as we arrived quite late in the afternoon at the tail end of lunch and even though the restaurant wasn’t busy, it took ages for the food to arrive which was not a good start to our stay especially with 3 very tired children. But this soon improved the next couple of days with the arrival of the restaurant manager who was very accommodating and helpful. We also had to be moved out of our cottage as there was issues with the shower but this was dealt with very quickly. Disappointed with new year celebrations as it was promised to be great but was a subdued affair and ended at 11pm.

We were 3 families with kids.Spent 3 days and never went out.We were not on leisure but was taking an off from regular work and we tried to enjoy the facilities inside the resort itself. We spent our most memorable time in the pool and kids really killed their time. There is a baby pool with the other pool and this has helped us to watch them. It's totally safe for family with kids.Restaurant was available throughout with a decent menu which had continental, north Indian and south Indian. Staff was extremely polite and extended their helping hands whenever asked to.Enough car parking was available at the front of the resort. They have a small gym with tread mill, multi etc which was a must for me.They also have a indoor games facility which offered chess, caroms, Foosball and table tennis. Rooms are like cottages.A cottage has one large room downstairs and two double bedrooms upstairs.Rates are quite alright and would like to visit again.

Really handy location to the town. You could walk there and I did. Many stores including variety stores, greengrocers, gift and clothing shops. Of course you will be asked to go into them but that's okay, expected. We had two rooms, cottages 102 and 101, right in front. I would not recommend these as they are close to the road, not that the road is busy but it takes away from the lovely grounds the hotel is in. I did see a monkey around the cottages one day. The room itself was pretty old. It was quite spacious. The door wasn't a great seal with gaps allowing mosquitos in. The bathroom I had the biggest problem with. Not that it was old which it clearly is, but the fact that hot water only ran for about 2 minutes then ran out. Enough time to shampoo your hair but not enough time to rinse it out. So would I stay here again? Probably not. Dinner was okay (part of our package) and breakfast fine for the one morning. We were told we could have continental the second day as we had to leave by 7.30am but at 7 (the time we were told it would be ready), only a few things were out - like bread but no butter. No coffee at all. So we left without anything.
