Firstly, its a budget hotel. In this price range, its fine and satisfying. But not that much good too. The rooms were neat and clean. Bathrooms are also good. The staffs were so friendly and cool. Transportation to this hotel is also fair
During our visit to Kottayam in February 2017 could stay at Hotel Aida only for a day as vacancy was not available later. Hence checked in at Day Springs executive rooms hotel on 11th February and checked out on 12th February. Very remote location and totally unprofessional staff. Looked more like a booth bangla. Rooms spacious but poor air conditioning, dilapidated beds and crumbled linen, poor lighting and cramped bathrooms made our stay wretched. Will never recommend such lousy places to anyone. Breakfast was supposed to be complimentary and was out sourced. Staff appeared very shady and unfriendly. One of my worst experiences anywhere - am a wide traveler.
Are you looking for a low cost space to live for a short period? Here is the place for you. It is clean and tidy, just few meters away from the town but very quiet. In the site the address mentioned ' Opposite of Municipal Guest House'. If you search for this 'Guest House'you would not be able to locate as it is a very old building and not in use for a long time. And it is completely covered by the climbers. Also 'Old Boat Jetty Road' You must specifically ask for 'OLD' otherwise the locals would send you to the present Jetty Road. There are two Jetty roads, Old and New. The surrounding road is not very good in look, but the hotel compound is clean. Hot water is available for 24 hrs , internet too. No food, even breakfast.
The rooms are beyond imagination. Exceptionally well, nice maintenance, fully co-operative staff. I just love this hotel by its amenities. One living room, one bed-room, attached bathroom and a balcony. I recommend this hotel to all who are planning a trip near to Kottayam.
About 200 mts away from the main road in town centre this is more like an home stay facility. If you do not want to spend more for extra facilities this seems a good resting place. There is parking space , free Wi-Fi also was offered. There are no restaurants around this place but the nearest one is around 300 mts away, but tea/ coffee can be ordered and is delivered.
Clean and tidy with an extra lounge room with TV. No WiFi in room and weak signal in foyer. No restaurant and location is a bit strange but walking distance from state bus station. Overall good value.
The rooms were very good. But the service is very poor. There was no service person in day time. In night when there was mosquitoes, when I ask for remedy, the manager arranged a coil worth Rs. 5/-. If u search for water, u have to buy/bring it yourself.
I visited Kottayam in Dec '14 and needed a place to stay for the night. I was looking for a cheap place and I eventually ran into Day Springs. It coated me over a grand for a Non-AC suite room and it was very good. The staff weren't that friendly but I couldn't care less as I was staying just for the night. Go for this if you need a place to crash for the night at Kottayam.
We stayed in Day Springs Resort for a night and two days for a friends wedding. The hotel room was booked by our our friend who was getting married. We were given an AC room without the remote for the AC. There was no lock on the bathroom, and the room was reeked of dampness. The queen sized bed was too small for two. The person at the reception was rude and it seemed like he was doing us a favour by letting us stay.
