I came to India to experience Indian family life, culture, food and spirituality. I found all of the above at Kanjirakkattu Heritage Home. Upon arrival at Trivandrum airport, I was greeted by a driver arranged by Priya, the hostess. He drove me to the home and I was welcomed by Priya with flowers for me. When I was shown my...

We had the opportunity to experience a homestay both in letter and spirit. The host Priya is extremely amiable and accepts her guests as her own kin. We were immediately made to feel at home. The entire family and staff were very warm and inviting. The place is a well kept traditional home conveniently located close to the Kottayam railway...

We arrived at the busy Kottayam Railway station, unaware of how far the homestay was from the station. A quick phone call to Priya, our host, had the Rickshaw driver on his way. ten minutes later we were there. The house, a bungalow is beautiful, set in it's own grounds. Priya and her mum were were most welcoming, with late...

Arguably the best experiences come from the people you spend time with and the hosts were simply superb in extending the warmth, care and comfort of their home. Priya and Jai Krishna were very courteous and to top it...

Kanjirakkattu was the third stop on our 3 week trip around southern Kerala and in many ways it was the most memorable. We really did feel like one of the family. Priya was extremely helpful and a mine of information. Pachu, her son was a delight and as our self appointed guide to the immediate area we soon met all...

Staying at Kanjirakkattu Heritage Home was by far the highlight of our visit to Kerala. The room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. We were lucky to come across this Homestay when planning our trip. The warmth and hospitality of this family is second to none. Priya’s knowledge about Kerala and her interest in getting to know us as individuals meant she helped organise anything we wanted to do. We are very interested in cooking and had many informal discussions with Priya about...

“The location is down a beautiful lane where one can walk with pleasure. I got the feeling people are friendly and honest. NB: It seems that the town centres are very "Indian", and elegant homes and shops are down lanes!”
