Athreya Ayurvedic Centre is an excellent choice for people who wish to seek an experience in a medical resort for body detox , mental/psyche rejuvenation, weight loss and curing ailments which has been deemed ''hopeless' by other systems of medicines and most importantly for those who wish to increase immunity from diseases and wishing to delay the affects of ageing in their mind and body This is owned and run by a family of physicians with 5 generations legacy in Ayurveda healthcare. Panchakarma & Kuti Pravesika Rasayana are the hallmark services of this centre that has 17 cottages and 8 rooms and so it is medium sized medical resort making every client feel lot of personal space Most rooms/cottages face either the paddy fields in november to march segment or the lake in april to october segment.Very clean and serene surroundings and very peaceful 9 kms away from the town of kottayam The food served is vegetarian, herbal drinks are served & doctors monitor the quality of same

Ayurveda starts with the right competent doctor. Dr. Sreejiit: As an Ayurvedic doctor he is a coriphae, expert in his field and as a person warm, open and always available. He captures very fast the situation, the health status of the body. No matter how long you stay, he puts enornmous efforts in making the best out of the days you will be there. I just finished 11 days of treatment, a condensed, very rich Panchakarma suitable for my needs. How I feel can be not transmitted via text, but rest assured, it is amazing feeling, blood circulation gives me a natural feeling of beeing energetic with a healthy metabolism. It is not a wellness walk, it is serious and tough body work to get cleansed and rejuvenated. The bungalows are very clean, fit for purpose, food is amazing and therapists understand what they do. It is my 3rd or 4th time here, and I don‘t no a better place, because there is no better doctor.

Awesome place for cleansing and rejuvenation of body and situated in heavenly adobe of nature. There is a black room for introspection and to give a kick start towards inner journey. Food was awesome in taste, long time not had such nutritious food, possibly because ot was free of all chemicals. Kitchen was very much hygienic, and all standards are in par with best homely environment. Not to mention of the banayan tree standing in its majestic state.

I visited Athreya for a 14 day visit with my mother on a recommendation from a colleague. It was well above the expectations starting from the mandatory consultation with Dr Sreejit to get a clarity on health issues and he is very honest and straightforward in discussing the scope for resolution of mentioned problems. The team was very accommodating in arranging pickup from the airport. We needed to visit a few places before visiting the center and they arranged it. The center itself is away from traffic within fields and has a very serene atmosphere. The rooms are very neat and clean. I enjoyed the hospitality and treatment by therapists Subin and Ajith was very good and they ask for constant feedback on pressure and comfort levels. The Dr visits everyday for feedback not only on the treatment but general issues. He very patiently explains the process and what to expect. Would definitely visit again! P.S If you are not a fan of using the neem oil provided by them as a natural mosquito repellant get your own as it is definitely needed. The rooms are generally free of mosquitos and beds have mosquito nets.

Came for two weeks with my daughter. After a few days of treatments we both felt our body is cleansed in a way we never felt before. The staff was friendly and professional.
Dr Sreejt and Dr Jayalakhsmi had dailly consultations with us and made us feel we are well taken care of. If you are looking for a way to make a significant and meaningfull change in your wellbeing, you may want to consider Athreya.

Sixth pancha karma at Athreya and it just gets better every time. This time I could stay for 3 weeks and saw amazing results. All treatments are fully explained prior making the whole process simple and easy, supported by an amazing team of technicians professionally trained and caring (Anju, you are an angel). Dr Sreejit follows up with each of his patient daily, making sure the treatments are having the best results and support you with any challenge. The food is tasty, fresh and healthy and appropriate for the cleansing process. The gardens and environment are healing by themselves, lush vegetation, full of birds and flowers and amazing view create the perfect scene for meditative states. Cottages are offering all the comforts needed, clean, air-conditioned, private and quiet. Overall staff, from front office to kitchen staff, guardeners and cleaning ladies, bend over backwards to make you comfortable. After visiting Athreya 6 times so far, I am not looking anywhere to top it off, I dont think I can get better anywhere else for a true, authentic and effective pancha karma. Results speak for themselves.

I visited Athreya 16 years after my first visit. Needless to say the Ayurvedic treatment, staff, location and delicious healthy food had made such a profound impression on me, that although life took over, I finally did make it there in March 2022.
I noticed that the homey atmosphere, clean and comfortable cottages and campus, large, well ventilated treatment rooms with modern bathrooms -all of this was the same. However services offered have increased and accommodations and the campus has become larger.
It was a very intense 10 days as I wanted to get the maximum benefit of the stay . I left feeling like every part of my body has received a tune-up!! Internal and external.
Highly recommend this place to detox /relax or address serious health problems and the Drs. Sreejith and Dr. Jayalakshmi are knowledgable and experienced and take the time to meet with you multiple times during the visit to ensure your treatment is working and make changes as neccesary.
The staff is very responsive and customer focused, specially the treatment team that is assigned to you for your entire stay getting to know your particular issues and work hard to alleviate those problems through administering the various ayurvedic therapies.
Athreya is truly a very special place and I, like so many I met in the campus ( visiting from countries all over the globe) wanted to return every year for the rejuvenation and benefits for our heath.

I didn't have many expectations when I decided to visit this place for its 2 week programme, however I was amazed by the peace and warm ambience it provided to me throughout. From the extremely helpful and kind staff to the light food and daily consultations, all the things made me feel very comfortable and calm. It obviously can't be considered an alternative to a traditional hotel, however it shouldn't be as it is a haven away from usual life with relaxing (mostly) ayurvedic therapies that actually work wonders and make up for the lack of certain things very well.

200 is min 😉. How does one explain the best. So would sum it up as " A place to unwind ". You relax, while everyone else does the hard work. AND YOU , come out looking a million dollars. My appreciation is so heartfelt that I would never be able to explain in person for the fear of the emotions. I have to mention Dr. Sreejit & Dr. Jayalakshmi, your job involves not only your teaching to your staff but your character, kindness & love you show to your staff & customers who are also patients . By that I mean in every area. From the front office to the therapist, medical preparation, kitchen staff, gardeners, cleaners etc,etc. There is alot more involved but that's only how far my eyes could reach in the one week I spent there. I have been there twice before for longer periods and every time having wonderful experiences. My advice to all " Seeing is believing" , get yourself an experience of a lifetime. Thanks to Jubily my therapist. Her fingers are made of a wonder. Thanks also to Aksaya my other therapist. She has worked really hard. My gratitude goes to all who worked to prepare such tasty dishes, the carers, cleaners & gardeners , keeping the place clean & beautiful . Such a beautiful sight from morning until you sleep. The comfort too is of high standards. All of you will all stay in my heart forever & will surely come again when life permits. God bless you all always.

I came across Athreya while searching for the best Ayurvedic center in Kerala for myself and my mother. This is my first time experiencing an Ayurvedic program. Our stay is a short time of 11 days. From the initial consultation to booking, the airport transfers, clean and quiet accommodation with a gorgeous view of the paddy fields, ayurvedic treatments with daily consults, tasty food, and yoga classes in the morning and evenings! Dr. Sreejit is incredibly knowledgeable, works hard to ensure you feel special, and is very compassionate about his work. Those 11 days felt like a day or two, busy with all treatments, love, and care you received there, our therapist Negha, Neethu, and Shilpa was kind and attentive. Sushant and Arun were very attentive and looked after our needs in the dining area. Dr.Anju, Rahul, and all the other staff made our stay very delightful. Many thanks to Dr. Sreejit and his wife Dr. Jaya Lakshmi and all other staff who makes your experience a memorable one. Thank you!

Athreya is beautiful place. Loved the sunset, birds, cows, paddy fields etc. Perfect place to have cleansing treatment. Treatment was very nice, my mind and body felt lighter and lighter everyday. Dr Sreejit gives personal attention to everyone and make sure all okay from every perspective from the stay to treatments and how body is responding to the treatments. Worth every penny. I recommend to anyone to take the treatment at least once, I think it is necessary for the body and mind.

I was coming for 3 to 6 weeks of intensive detox treatment for serious illness. I was not someone who was going to walk in for a day treatment or massage. My review wias my experience of communication.
You may want to contact then via email as i understand they do have treatments for most medical conditions but the treatment takes more than 3-4 weeks and the person has to stay at Athreya for the duration. Most people who visit for treatment stay for a month. The treatment program could be intense but it's very effective. They take on a case by case basis and conduct a one on one consultation with the patient over email or phone (for free) to determine if they can or cannot treat and as to what treatment program would be applicable. I found them very trustworthy and open in their assessment.
