Athreya Ayurvedic Centre is an excellent choice for people who wish to seek an experience in a medical resort for body detox , mental/psyche rejuvenation, weight loss and curing ailments which has been deemed ''hopeless' by other systems of medicines and most importantly for those who wish to increase immunity from diseases and wishing to delay the affects of ageing in their mind and body This is owned and run by a family of physicians with 5 generations legacy in Ayurveda healthcare. Panchakarma & Kuti Pravesika Rasayana are the hallmark services of this centre that has 17 cottages and 8 rooms and so it is medium sized medical resort making every client feel lot of personal space Most rooms/cottages face either the paddy fields in november to march segment or the lake in april to october segment.Very clean and serene surroundings and very peaceful 9 kms away from the town of kottayam The food served is vegetarian, herbal drinks are served & doctors monitor the quality of same

Athreya where Ayurveda is adopted to its core... I am from Mumbai and was at Athreya for 15 days mainly to cleanse the body doing panchkarma treatment. Also wanted to lose little weight and 2-3 inches on stomach. All goals achieved to perfection! The ayurvedic massages, other treatments, required medicines, food, yoga, peaceful surrounding, all together help the person to achieve his or her goals. Socialising with other health seekers from India & Abroad was icing on the cake. The other very appreciable thing was daily consultation with Dr Sreejit or Dr Jayalakshmi. Honestly, they became like caring family members whom i have warmly invited for my son's wedding this December! :) The team which helps the doctors is also par excellence. Massage and other treatment therapists, house keeping, staff in the kitchen, front office, they all make you feel 'special'! I will certainly visit this centre again after couple of years and this time with my wife!!

The best gift you can give someone is “Good Health”, This is the philosophy on which Dr Sreejit Sir and Dr Jayalaxmi Mam have laid the foundation of Atherya. The extent to which Atherya team goes to make your stay fruitful is unbelievable. I went to Atherya first time 5 years back and always thought I will go back again. But never imagine this time I will go with my family including one and half year old baby. We were little nervous, how we will manage baby (food for baby, treatment for us etc ) in Atherya. But the whole staff of Atherya went to great extent for taking care of every aspect of our stay. Special thanks to Sudeesh, Ajit, cooking team, Dr Anju and everyone who is the backbone of keeping the Athreya a beautiful and peaceful. Definitely coming back again soon. My second stay is actually better than the 1st one. It amazes me how Athreya and Dr Sree and Jaya keep raising the bar high.

I visited Athreya 16 years after my first visit. Needless to say the Ayurvedic treatment, staff, location and delicious healthy food had made such a profound impression on me, that although life took over, I finally did make it there in March 2022. I noticed that the homey atmosphere, clean and comfortable cottages and campus, large, well ventilated treatment rooms with modern bathrooms -all of this was the same. However services offered have increased and accommodations and the campus has become larger. It was a very intense 10 days as I wanted to get the maximum benefit of the stay . I left feeling like every part of my body has received a tune-up!! Internal and external. Highly recommend this place to detox /relax or address serious health problems and the Drs. Sreejith and Dr. Jayalakshmi are knowledgable and experienced and take the time to meet with you multiple times during the visit to ensure your treatment is working and make changes as neccesary. The staff is very responsive and customer focused, specially the treatment team that is assigned to you for your entire stay getting to know your particular issues and work hard to alleviate those problems through administering the various ayurvedic therapies. Athreya is truly a very special place and I, like so many I met in the campus ( visiting from countries all over the globe) wanted to return every year for the rejuvenation and benefits for our heath.

I had a wonderful experience in Athreya. After several months of intense stress back home (Syria), I decided that I need a break. I was planning to come for two weeks for the Panchakarma program in order to detox and relive stress. I ended up spending an additional two weeks in the Kuti (dark room therapy). Both were fantastic experiences! Excellent staff and food too!

Even after weeks of coming back from Athreya, I cant get over this wonderful abode. My purpose of visit was PCOD treatment but I got much more than that. It was by chance I came across this place but I cant help but be grateful about my time here. Everyone that work here are truly amazing in terms of hospitality, care and treatments. Rooms are lovely with balconies and have everything that one needs for a comfortable stay. The food here makes one happy from within and oh! so tasty. The surroundings add to the well - being of body and mind. Before coming here, drop all inhibitions about water, food, medicines, accommodation etc. Entrust yourself to Dr. Sreejit and enjoy ayurveda at its best. He is highly credible and a person of great values and morals. Needless to say Dr. Jayalakshmi is lovely, compassionate and very easy to talk to. Both the doctors are highly reliable and they truly care with regular follow ups. If you are a nature lover and believe that natural elements + doctors' expertise , fine therapists and great food can take care of you, this is the right place. Highly recommended.

I discovered Ayurvedic medicine at virtually the same time as Athreya and right now, for me, they are two inseparable concepts. My journey of self-discovery began on 25th February 2022, the day I arrived at the Athreya Oasis. At the heart of the bustling and turbulent Kottayam/Kerala, I found an imposing, green, serene, quiet, welcoming space where everyone dress the sweater of benefactors and wears the most affectionate smiles I have ever had the opportunity to observe. It is a clean and organized space delivered into the hands of an unparalleled gardening and cleaning team. Dr Jayalakshmi and Dr Sreejit are a professional duo worthy of public honourable mention. They unfold daily in consultations, in adjustments of therapeutic plans, in prescription of diet and phytotherapy and in constant concern with our well-being. All my clinical monitoring and treatment were personalized and adjusted to my needs, closely followed by them, by their nursing team and by Dr Anju, always kind, active and competent. My therapists Anusha, Shilpa e Sneha were always attentive and present companions in all treatments. Always professionals, friends and caregivers. Athreya’s team of cooks are responsible for the simply wonderful food that is served at every meal and Sudeesh, one of the kitchen’s employees, will forever be in my heart for his availability and constant sympathy. The yoga classes take place on top of a building with a 360º view of an endless nature. Professor Pradhi challenges us to achieve physical well-being through body, respiratory and spiritual consciousness. It is by far the most complete yoga practice I have ever practiced, guided by someone pure and unique. I had the privilege of depriving other guests from the four corners of the world, who each in their own way left their mark on my existence. Thank you Hasty, Lina, Gisela, Bernd "German guy", Sabrina, Mishel, Navaz... The proximity to endless paddy fields and the Kodoor River also encourages hiking and discoveries of landscapes and wonderful people. Thank you Athreya and see you soon!

Came for two weeks with my daughter. After a few days of treatments we both felt our body is cleansed in a way we never felt before. The staff was friendly and professional. Dr Sreejt and Dr Jayalakhsmi had dailly consultations with us and made us feel we are well taken care of. If you are looking for a way to make a significant and meaningfull change in your wellbeing, you may want to consider Athreya. I will definately be back!

This is a place I keep returning to over the years. It heals the body and the mind - one returns home rejuvenated and ready to face any issues. The care and attention given by Dr. Sreejit is what makes this place so special. His wife Dr. Jayalaxmi follows up on one’s treatment and looks into other aspects such as comfort, the beautiful garden and the delicious food. Their son Agnivesh is like a breadth of fresh air! They have become like a part of my family. The staff are amazing. Ashish, who takes care if our needs, Rahul, Sudeesh, Lata the chef, Sneha and Anjou my therapists, the yoga master - an incredible lot of caring and efficient members of Athreya who made my stay so comfortable. Thank you to them all. I shall return again and again.
