On our visit to Cochin we spent two nights at Koder House, which was delightful. The reception on arrival was very good and throughout our stay the staff were helpful, courteous and always greeted you with a smile. Our air conditioned room, overlooking the park was very spacious and tastefully decorated. Service at breakfast was quite slow, but it didn't... More

We stayed at this wonderful Jewish building for two days. The rooms are huge and very comfortable with all the necessary amenities. though the building is more than 200 years old it has been maintained well. The owners have preserved the building with out the modernity affecting the charm of the old structure. The restaurant offers a good menu which can... More

Koder house is a 200 years old building but looks quite modern for its age. It is a restaurant cum bar which servers local and European (limited) food. The great thing about the place is its rustic nature. Needless to say that the food is exemplary. The restaurant serves both Indian and European food (which aren't too many). You should... More

Six years ago we stayed at the Old Harbour Hotel in Cochin, it was wonderful and we were not disappointed with anything. This year they were full and so we decided to book the property next door. We arrived at the Koder House from Marari Beach, summer had started early and temperatures were high at 34 degrees. As we walked... More

We stopped in here for a refreshing and rare glass of wine which was really lovely but it was exceptionally quiet and really had no atmosphere. As the prices were expensive we didn't stay for food. I would recommend for a drink because the local Indian wine - Sula - was very nice and refreshing in the heat.

Staff was extremely friendly and fun and helped us understand the rules of cricket during the WC South Africa - India game. We have diner there and the food was lovely too. Rooms are really large and really nice.

We had the seafood feast for two. Excellent food (not deep-fried, delicious). Don't miss the Koder chocolate desert: apparently an old Cochin Jewish recipe. Excellent unobtrusive service. A fine old room. Browse the photos on the wall of the patriarch 50 or 60 years ago meeting Indira Ghandi and Queen Elizabeth on their visits to Cochin: a sense of the... More

This looked as though it was going to be an impressive stay in an attractive building in a great location but after a warm welcome things went downhill. But the positives first. Ours was a large suite facing the street which had good a/c and a great balcony for people watching. It also had a large dressing room and a... More

Set in a very old Jewish homestead in Fort Kochi's bustling main tourist drag, this is a laid-back and quirky low-slung hotel set inside what was the home of a very important Kochi Jewish family. The rooms, bathrooms and ante rooms (I was in 102) are gigantic and will probably be the biggest rooms you would ever have stayed in.... More
