Overview: unsafe, unclean and overpriced. Go ANYwhere else for a more enjoyable visit. This is possibly the worst homestay in Kochi. The landlady has a pending case of attempt to murder against her in the Ernakulam High Court. Additionally, she habitually extorts guests by filing false cases against them (her brother is a policeman at the Fort Kochi Station). For...

Stayed for a couple of days and mainly because we recognised the name from Lonely Planet - big mistake! The room was over priced, warm and with lots of mosquitos. The free wifi did not work at any time. We received no commitment and very minimum service from the owner and it really felt like she only wanted your money....

Over all impression: tidy rooms, tired, non enthusiastic land lady, expensive. In fact, it seems like they are getting customers because they're in the lonley planet.... Room rates: had to pay rs1200 for a fan double room...including breakfast but still! Too expensive for what we got. Not good value. We have read 500 in the lonley planet (quite old but...

The owner is a lady who only wants you there for the money and doesn't care about your comfort. Only the "assistant" is a nice guy from Nepal. The bedroom and bathroom is everything but clean. Official price is 1.000 RS per night, but even negotiated at 800RS it is not a good deal. Mosquitos are everywhere and there is...

We actually booked a room in the well recommended Oy`s on Burgher Street in Fort Cochin. As we arrived there, they told us that there is no free room available and therefore they brought us to the Oy`s La Home Stay. Keep away from this place. The rooms are very dirty and the walls are covered with mold. The women...

We stayed there after checking 2-3 other homestays and chose Oy's La since they had the spaciest room. Turned out not so nice after all. Rooms are not clean enough, especially bathrooms. Mattress is too thin and firm. When we opened the fridge, the horrible stench spread throughout the room which the owner tried to blame on our shoes. And...

I stayed at Oy's La in the low season, and while the rooms are very basic, and you do feel like you're in someone's house, everything you need is there and the woman who runs the place (I have forgotten her name!) is very accommodating. I was actually in Kochi researching a future trip, and her son took the time...

i paid more than twice the previous reviewer (1200Rs per night) and agree with a number of points. i did enjoy the spacious room, but was at that particular point i was easily pleased. the reality was that it was very noisy from the passing traffic sounding their horns often with absolutely no need to do so. and yes the...

Stayed four nights in a double bed room for 550 rupees per night including breakfast. The home stay is welcoming and feels like you are actually living in someone's house. There's wi-fi and cable tv in the rooms, and a great lounge to relax in. The owner is very friendly and I bought a ticket from her to watch a...
