I stayed here in December 2014 but am writing the review only now! Apologise. It was a very good experience for me and my friend. Uncle Prem was friendly and his daughter was very sweet and helpful. They arranged a backwater tour for us at our last minute request. And the tour they recommended was memorable. They also made us breakfast, toast with butter and jam. it was delicious! I am looking forward to stay here again in the near future. We were there on Christmas time and they had a quiet celebration in their homes, some kids came to do trick or treat and danced, i took a video of it. Thank you for the experience.God bless you!

It is a family run homestay. We had booked the Non ac room at a very reasonable price and stayed for only one night. We were very happy with the extreme friendliness shown by the whole family. As we had brought food from home after arriving in a flight in the late evening from Mumbai, our hosts were kind enough to let us heat the food.We would have loved to stay here for more days but couldn't because of a tight schedule

we arrived one evening, after a great dissapointment in one of the homestays recommended by booking. com Prem was very helpful and saved us 3 roomes for the coming day all and all we sstayed ther for 6 nights, adding friends a long the way Prem and his family are very friendly, and they helped us with all our needs, including - helping us organize a trip to Munar and it's area, tickets for the dance shows, a trip to the canals, and all else that was needed. the rooms are simple but clean, the atmosphere good, and you can have decent breakfests with the family

When we arrived to Cochin we first stayed at a different guesthouse but we left after two days due to the rising of their prices. We then moved to prems and we enjoyed all of our 3 days there, the staff was very friendly and helped us with anything we needed, the price was very good if you compare the same standard to other guesthouses as well!

I have visited Prems Homestay twice. 1st time in October 2012 and 2nd time in August 2014.1st visit was with friends and 2nd one with Family.both the times we stayed in the ground floor.Prem and his daughters are very helpful to the guests and make you feel you are staying in your close relatives home. They would help you with anyting they can. Last time when i was there i had a jolly scooter ride with Prem uncle. Though the purpose was only to pack some food we roamed around fort cochin. Restaurant right in front of prems house served some delicious food. Most of the tourist attractions in fort cochin are within a walkable distance from prems place. The auditorium which hosts daily cultural shows of Kathakali and Indian dances is just next door.Prem can book the show tickets for you in advance. You can even book tickets for half day/oneday/overnight house boat tours nearby. He would give you a reasonable price. Coming to the rooms. I found them clean, neat and fresh. Bathrooms are clean too and had showers.Hot water source was solar water heater so in the night you dont have hot water you can ask prem, they would provide it to you separately. Take the ground floor rooms if you have aged companions who cannot climb ststairs. Overall I strongly suggest Prems home stay for anyone who wants a decent accommodation in Fort Cochin at reasonable price.

I stayed here 4 nights. People here are very friendly but the guesthouse really doen't worth its price. This is a moskito factory and every night this is the fight. yesterday I heard a party music until 4 AM. Impossible to sleep. Beds are really hard and the bed towel was like in 500r/night guesthouse... I really DO NOT recommend that place.

Stayed here as two couples. We originally booked a family room, but upon arrival, Celia said we could change so we have two separate rooms, which we obviously took her up on. The location is pretty good as you have many many restaurants within a 5 minute walk and the Chinese fishing nets are a further 10 minutes. The rooms were basic but pretty decent. Hard solid beds with not much of a pillow, but you do get a great nights sleep. The shower works great too and a western toilet is always very welcomed!! Celia will allow guests to store food and drinks in her kitchen, as well as provide breakfast for them (for an additional cost). Unfortunately this whole area is absolutely riddled with mosquitoes, and even with precautions in place our whole gang were bitten at least 20 times in an hour. Also the laundry is quite expensive at 15 rupees an item, but others close by are triple the price...

We stayed for two days from jan 9 & 10 2015, its located in the heart of fort kochi easily accessible by bus and ferry, its quiet and calm place to stay, rooms were kept clean and tidy but the only draw back was no extra electrical sockets for charging we had to manage in one socket had to take turns to charge gadgets, no hot water as promised, if you are planning to stay please carry a mosquito repellent with you, we had very tough time killing mosquitoes and lost our sleep in the first day, i hope in our next visit they will rectify these drawbacks and make our stay pleasant. so overall its a nice and a decent budget homestay...
