We chose this hotel partly because we are fans of the Hyatt group and partly because it was the nearest quality hotel to the railway station, from which we needed to catch the early morning train to Kasaragod (less than 15 minutes, whci is nothing in Kochi!). it would not be such a good location for visiting Fort Kochi and other tourist attractions.
The rooms are superbly appointed, with lots of high tech features like electrically operated curtains and a blind opening the bathroom to the bedroom and the view. A modest supplement secured a massive balcony, wrapping round two sides of the room and offering an outside dining table and outside sofa. Huge twin beds with first rate linens.
We also booked for access to the club lounge, which included an early evening 2 hour service of substantial snacks (effectively dinner) and drinks. Sadly we hit one of Kerala’s Dry Days. Otherwise there would have been complimentary wines and beers.
As I have to eat gluten-free, I had made contact with one of the senior chefs in advance to check that the hotel could handle this. I certainly needn’t have worried in the main restaurant, where every item on the exceptionally good lunch and breakfast buffet was clearly marked for every common allergen. The GF options proved more limited in the evening in the club lounge, but a Whatsapp to the chef to ask if they could send up some GF bread, secured not just the bread but a whole trolley laden with an embarrassingly generous quantity of delicious GF items on which I could barely make a dent! Talk about going the extra mile!
I shall definitely be putting this hotel into future itineraries at every opportunity!

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Bolgatty for several days while on vacation in Kochi, February 2025. I do not even know where to start. Our entire stay was fabulous, and I would highly recommend this property. The staff go above and beyond, every step of the way, every day. Our concierge Anwar was pivotal in making this an amazing experience for us. From the moment we walked through the door he make sure that every need we had was taken care of promptly and efficiently. We were hoping to maximize our short time in Kochi, and Anwar was able to arrange private tours and transportation for every activity we had planned with very little notice. Prices were extremely reasonable as well--which is not something I would expect when using high end hotel services. Najrul introduced himself the first day and made sure to keep in contact with us when we were at the hotel, always making sure we had everything we needed. Anshad was our fearless driver making sure we arrived to all of our to our locations and to the airport safely and on time. I cannot imagine navigating the streets of Kochi without him. Anil in the spa was super helpful and accommodating--treat yourself to a massage! Prices are about less than half of what you would expect at a US or EU destination of the same quality. Our tour guide Philip was terrific as well teaching us so much about the history of Kochi and India. Even the housekeeping staff checked in on us periodically to make sure we had everything we needed--right down to Velcro ties for our charging cables (unsolicited). We chose to stay in a 2 bed/bath villa as the price was nearly the same for two of the larger rooms. This was a very good decision. I have travelled all over the world, and I will put this room at the top of my list of all time. I don't particularly gravitate toward large, expensive hotels, but I do appreciate luxury when I have the chance to indulge. Tremendous value if you consider we literally had a 2000 sq ft home to ourselves instead of a small hotel room. I highly recommend booking a rate with breakfast included. The hotel buffet was amazing, and again, staff everywhere ready to accommodate any request. If you have time, also inquire about the hotel's private boat. Again, sounds expensive, but for a 2-3 hour private tour with (7 course??--can't even remember) private, chef prepared meal, it was a bargain! Thank you so much to everyone that made this one of the most memorable hotel stays ever! I do hope to return!

Grand Hyatt Bolgatty is one the best hotels in the world, in our opinion. Check-in & out was a breeze with their awesome staff, especially Mercy who helped us with both areas of the process. The Malabar Cafe has exceptional customer service and food quality, led by Chef Silva & our server Fedrick for multiple days. Please ask for these wonderful people! Every morning Chef Silva would visit our table and provide us with something custom made to a couple of foodies willing to try anything he made. The room itself was the most cleanest room we’ve ever stayed at, EVER - not a drop of dust, dirt or stain anywhere to be seen. I recommend this place as the first stop after you arrive after a long flight to get rid of the jet lag before you proceed with the rest of your trip. Amenities: pool, playground, top floor balcony bar, gym, steam room/sauna. Oh, did I mention: indoor and outdoor pool! If safety is a concern, know that your vehicle has to go through inspection, your luggage and yourself have to walk through a detector upon every arrival. At any hour during day and late evening, the cafe is open for coffee & snacks for sale. Did I mention, boat races from the view of your window every day? This will be a requirement for us to stay anytime we visit Kerala!

The property at Grand Hyatt Kochi is undeniably stunning, and the breakfast buffet is exceptional with a wide variety of delicious options to start the day. However, despite these positives, my experience was overshadowed by significant service failures that deeply impacted my stay.
The spa team exhibited poor communication skills, which led to them mismanaging our appointments. This resulted in the cancellation of appointments for four individuals, which was extremely disappointing and disrupted our plans.
More troubling, however, was the housekeeping team's mishandling of a critical request. As a breastfeeding mother, I trusted them with the safe storage of my 6-month-old’s breast milk. They assured me it would be kept frozen, but instead, it was stored in the refrigerator, rendering the entire supply unusable. This overpromise and underdelivery not only caused us to waste the milk but also left us unprepared for our journey back home. My baby had a distressing flight due to the lack of milk, something that could have been avoided with honest communication from the team.
While the property itself is beautiful, service like this is unacceptable at a hotel of this caliber. I would strongly urge the management to prioritize clear communication and refrain from offering services they cannot reliably deliver. As much as I wanted to enjoy my stay, these issues made it an experience I would not want to repeat.

We booked the Hyatt House Boat for a high tea for a group event and everything was perfect. The trip was smooth and on time. The high tea was beautifully crafted and all our guests had a memorable time. The boat was airconditioned, there was gentle music and all staff was professional and helpful. Highly recommend!

Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty has garnered acclaim for its modern, clean ambiance and comfortable rooms, with guests highlighting the overall high cleanliness standards and attentive housekeeping. Very nice and stylish hotel, very spacious rooms, with a good view of back water and house boats lighting . Pool and Malabar Cafe top notch, room service, concierge, restaurant staff, and valet service too. Daily changing international breakfast menu with excellent selections of south Indian and freshly squeezed juices as per our needs, Anything we needed everyone are the for the service. Staff is extremely attentive and friendly.
Special mentions to some of the staffs: We stayed for Two days. Ms Athira from the reception was very polite and help us to changing to backwater view on 2nd day and also asking frequently regarding the stay. Our own bellboy Mr Rajashekar was very helpful and caring our luggage. He got a very nice smile. From Malabar Cafe I need to mention, Mr. Robert from welcoming dinner & he acknowledged us in breakfast time with smile and asking regarding the stay and all. Also Mr. Tibin who take care our table was extremely well service during breakfast time. Followed by Bijin, Anirudh, Anirban, Fredrick, Sanjay & Muhammed.
Special mention to Ms Chef Latha taking care of our baby food accordingly what we need..

We were in Cochin on business and by pure chance we happened to be in Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty on my Birthday.
Very well located hotel, with breath taking view of the water, esp when sunset. Room very clean, all amenities in maintained working order, no complaints there. Restaurants, one at the top and one at the bottom, the Thai restaurant. Chefs in the bottom, Thai place were all Thai nationals and meals they make are done right right, as they should be made.
Spa and sauna are excellent, we visited those twice, once for mani/pedi and once for the massage and sauna after coming back from inner land. I see some people had objections about the reception, but the way I saw it, there were some junior staff present that needed to be explained things with few words more, but not in any moment did I see that as a down side. People work and learn about the business. More senior staff was always present and hopped in, as they should.
Staff surprised me with birthday cake and we sang a song, and room cleaning crew also. Very unexpected experience and well executed!
All things considered, very very pleasant stay in Bolgatty. I'm reconsidering to repeat the visit at some later stage. I did enjoy Kerala a lot and visit to Hyatt contributed to the experience.

Overall Experience - The overall experience was better than expected. Customer centricity and service standards are appreciable. Every member at this property is so willing to take care of you and go that extra mile, just to ensure a comfortable stay.
Accommodation - Our executive suite was airy and large with a lovely L shaped deck, overlooking the water body. It was over 2000 sq feet and didn't feel cramped up at all.
F & B - No complaints - all of us were looked after from the Breakfast Buffet till the IRD. Must try the In Room Dining Margarita Pizza, Indian Cottage Cheese, Kerala Wheat Breads.
Spa - Could be a little more courteous and hospitable - Details have already been shared with the property manager as well as in the Hyatt survey. Treatment, Therapy point of view - no complaints and yes, I particularly liked the Kizhi Ayurvedic Therapy.
The High Tea - The High Tea session, each day, was delightful - lovely spread, comfortable sofas, picturesque views of the Vembanad lake and so much care from Priyanka. Alongside her, Parikshit also did his best throughout our stay.
Housekeeping, In Room Dining - The Housekeeping was honestly better than what we see at most properties, however small bad experiences can sometimes mar a good expectation/ experience.
Both the departments need to slightly upgrade their standards as the devil lies in the details. When I speak of the IRD, I absolutely did not like the way the cups were placed face up, cake and fruit uncovered while there was a gecko in the suite. But the good thing is that they listen and quickly modify whatever is requested. The staff is courteous, warm and don't believe in saying 'No'.
Communication - What I also found astounding was the communication flow and network. Almost every manager would know of what we like, incident/s if any, issues if any.
Empowerment - It was nice to see the way the hotel empowers 'muted' people in their chain of employment. Two such lovely people served me in my suite, and I was very happy to realize the philosophy, vision behind such an act

The property at Grand Hyatt Bolgatty is undeniably impressive, offering an atmosphere of luxury with its well-maintained grounds and top-notch facilities. From the design of the rooms to the amenities available on-site, everything about the property lives up to the expectations one would have from a high-end hotel. The facilities were extensive and well-thought-out, catering to a variety of needs, whether you’re looking to relax or engage in more active pursuits. In terms of infrastructure, the hotel certainly delivers.
However, despite the exceptional property and facilities, my experience with the staff and management was deeply disappointing. There were some instances during my stay where the service fell far below the standards I expected from a prestigious hotel like the Grand Hyatt. Whether it was a lack of attentiveness, slow response to requests, or a general feeling of indifference, these issues marred what could have been a truly wonderful stay.
It’s unfortunate that a property with such potential was let down by the quality of service, as this reflects directly on the overall experience. For a hotel of this caliber, such shortcomings in staff behavior and management are both unexpected and unacceptable, significantly impacting my perception of the brand.
