Everything is excellent here, except distance from the airport, providing no meals other than breakfast and mosquitoes.Mr.Basil like the big brother of the family will look after you, gentle and ever smiling Mrs. Basil serve you humble breakfast silently and whenever you wish to spend a time of your own looking towards the Serine landscape of backwater beside the Homestay, thousands and lakhs of mosquitoes engulfed you in no time. Still, if I would visit Kochi for the second time, I would prefer "Riverside Heritage" to stay.

Thank you Basil and Annie, we had a great time staying at your home. Rooms were very clean, breakfast very tasty and the company from Basil great. We also took advantage of a boat trip in a nearby local village at sunset, with some local food and toddy! The home stay is in a lovely quiet location, just out of town, with a tuk tuk costing 200 rupees (about £2). The drive into the old town is great fun and gives you a lovely intro to life in Cochin. Basil can organise everything for you if you need, and has some great restaurant recommendations as well! Great fun, highly recommended!

If you're visiting Kochi you must stay with Basil! Basil's is a little oasis in Kochi. The house and gardens are lovely and Annie cooks a delicious kerela breakfast each morning. Although out of the centre, the location is peaceful and only a 20mins tuktuk/uber to Fort Kochi (<£2). We also had dinner at a great restaurant a 20min walk / 5min tuktuk away. Area felt very safe. Basil was an amazing host! He very kindly upgraded our room and really looked after us during our stay, organising an airport pick-up and making sure we got the right onwards bus. We had a 1/2day tour of Fort Kochi with Johnson - who was great! And then Basil organised us a sunset boat trip around the nearby backwaters - highly recommended, it was beautiful! Thank you so much Basil and Annie for making our first few days in India such a joy!

We, three friends, had a wonderful first stop of our travelling reunion at Kochi. What a pleasantly relaxing time we had at Mylanthra's house. Extremely welcoming host(Basil Uncle), and beautiful traditional south Indian breakfast prepared by Aunty(Annie). He really went out of the way to help us out, exchanging currency, getting us food in the middle of the night and preparing our itinerary. We couldn't thank him enough. And most importantly, the house is very beautiful, clean and well kept. Everything just makes you feel at home and want to come back again.
