I was looking for nice vacation out of the city life with reasonable price and also wanted to use my jetairways award ticket. I found a nice package in ebay travel. I had doubts about this place. But it was surprise package. Rooms were good. Garden was huge and out of city vehicle sound. Highlight is the reasonable priced ayurvedic spa services. It was indeed very good place away from city life and quite near to mangalore airport with good connectivity from bangalore. After 6 it is really very calm and peaceful. -ve things are no internet connectivity in the AC cottages and also no signal in the datacard other than that it was good escape from city life.

Yes, Planning to spend your weekend in place where you want to feel you are out your busy city life, then I guess Pandith Health Resort is perfect choice. As name it self suggest, its Health resort , they have got all the Ayurveda massages on reasonable price.
Pros :Courteous staff, and Management, Good food, Excellent location and nice gardens. Good Swimming pool . Good connectivity to near by City and Airport.Nice room Interiors with double TV. Hydrotherapy shower panel .
Cons: Cost are looks bit higher, No Net connectivity and Intercom, One want to speak to staff they should call through their mobiles. If one doesn't want to stay there , you can book the resort for day with cost of 500/- per head (Might have changed , need to confirm) , where they provide swimming pool , lunch . One can enjoy the day from 9.0AM to 5.0 PM there.
Will recommend to visit this resort.

When we booked to stay at Pandits Health Resort and Spa we saw that they had claimed to have five star facilities. The swimming pool looked blue, clean and clear in the photos on the website. The actual pool was green, dirty and you couldn't see the bottom of the pool as it was so unclear. The pool was unhygienic to, a member from our group saw tadpoles swimming around in the pool and there were many dead insects floating on the top of the pool. When we booked our rooms over the phone we were told that their were only two rooms left so we thought that the resort would be a popular place to people to stay at. When we went to resort and went into our rooms we found out that the air conditioner in one of the rooms was not working so we called the management and asked them if they could fix it. They tried to repair the A/C but they couldn't so they called a few others who came at various times of the day, not letting us go to have dinner and giving us absolutely NO PRIVACY! In the end we were informed that the A/C couldn't be fixed. We asked if there was another room available but apparently all of them were booked out. When we initially booked our stay at the resort we told the management that there was 13 of us. The management replied saying that extra beds and items (such as towels) would be available. When we got to the resort the beds and the towels were not there and we had to speak to the management several times. A few mattresses and towels came and we had to ask for more. They knew that we needed extra things but we had to call them several times. Finally in the end we were supplied with the extra mattresses and towels. The service was not great either. When we had lunch we asked for Nimbu Sodas. Normally when you eat you get your drinks before your food but instead we got our drinks after we had finished eating so we told the management that we didn't want them now and we wanted them before we started eating lunch. The management replied and said that they were sorry and that they would bring them before we had dinner, that night. When we had dinner we were very disappointed as they did the same thing again, bringing the drinks after we had finished our dinner. The resort was not good value for money as we had stayed in resorts that were cheaper and that had much better facilities. The only good thing was the food. The food was good all three times we ate there.

Trip was November 2012, I am from the UK, but have travelled in India, have family near their. Great welcome at the gate, but downhill rapidly after that, by far the worst place I have stayed in given the price. The website does not quite reflect what you might get and actually see, there is nothing world class or 5 star about it, I would have to question if 2 star really covers it. The accommodation was a little shabby on first inspection, but as you look closer you start to see broken bits, dirty bits, worn bits and so on, so not feeling the healthiness and relaxedness that you would expect to get from a health spa. Within being in the accommodation for 2 hours we had a bathroom flood issue into the main bedroom, water was not draining away. Eventually they sent someone to sort the problem, but whatever they did was cursory, an hour later used the shower and had a bigger flood into the bedroom someone came out again, did a slightly better job, flooding was limited to the bathroom after that. We had to ask for toilet paper and towels, another thing of great annoyance, aggravated by the fact that we asked for the mat to the bathroom to be changed and they took it away, probably gave it a shake and a squeeze, to get rid of the bathroom flood waters and returned it. When it came to the evening meal they had the cheek to make us sit outside at the back of a buffet for a private birthday party, which made us look like gate crashers. In the morning there was another private party which we had to sit with on chairs, no tables and get in a long orderly cue for breakfast and deal with the funny looks because again you are a gate crasher. I treated by wife, mother and myself for a massage, I won’t go into detail, just don’t, because if you are not put off by the massage experience you will be by the showering experience thereafter. If I was offered a free night there I would rather go somewhere else, like the Gateway hotel in Mangalore, and pay the money. Me thinks the owners are too busy lining their own pockets and building their own fancy palace on the site! I was so appalled by the experience I decided that we would not stay an extra night, or ever return again.

Most horrifying experience in last THREE DECADES of my touring life. Most unprofessional in dealings.. . I got my booking conformation to this hotel through YATRA.COM, for two nights and three days last week Jan 15,(it seems it is another careless and hope less agency is Yatra.com). Even after fully payment But hotel reception instead of receiving, they asked who are Yatra.com to give our hotel room without out our permission. Later they made a mercy statement.. Ok, you can stay only for one night, for second night there is no room.. whenever out guest comes your have to check out... like that careless attitude exhibited by them.
Who wasted so many stars to rate this as 5 star? Simply baseless. Resort? colour is faded.. dirty swimming pool. Hospitality word has no sense here. Of course, Lunch was Ok.
Don't get carried away by the promises made by the staff of this hotel.. beware.. you may not get bed tea even at breakfast time.!!! I don't suggest any one (including my enemies) to opt this hotel. Everything is overcharged. Not worth it. Forget WIFI, not even Intercom/telephone.

Went to this place end of Dec 2012 for a weekend getaway. Due to Christmas/New yr, they were charging 8500/- per night. (Even their off season rate of 6500/- per night is not at all worth) Now, in a place like Moodabidri (outskirts of Mangalore), a price tag like that is extremely exhorbitant. I was knowing that, but I was still ok to pay that money if the services provided were of high class (which is what i was told). Pls remember that, even in a proper city like Mangalore, for a price of 5-6K per night, you will get 5 star service in good hotels.
But, i was completely shocked to see the kind of service we got for 8500/- per night. Food was average, room service was not worth mentioning, even the pool water smelled very bad. There were so many things that were contradictory. For eg., they said the snacks, etc kept in the room is free of charge, but when we were checking out, they charged for that. When we argued, they said that the earlier infomration given was wrong and they havent updated the material. When we were checking out, there was not even a soul who came and atleast for courtesy sake asked about our stay and took our feedback. Very unprofessioanal service.
Resort looked very dried out. Even the children play areas had cobwebs and lots of dust. Clear indication that no one used for a long time. All in all, defintitely not worth the money.
I am totally regretting not only literally wasting 8500/- per night but also spoiling my new yr weekend.

My family and I came her for a 4 day vacation. The website claims 5 start facilities. I will not even rate it as 1 star. Here are some reasons: 1) There is no intercom or telephone in any of the rooms. If you need to call the staff you need to call them on your mobile phone. 2) Most of the staff do not speak English, only Kannada and Hindi. Cery poorly staffed too. 3) Rooms are dumpy and very poorly maintained. No toilet paper or stand, now towel stands, tables creak, bathroom door had no lock. There is not even a writing pad or pen. Of course there is NO WIFI. 4) No proper cafeteria or room service. It is like a home kitchen buffet. 5) Outside maintenance is very poor. 6) Pool is maintained poorly. Guests jump in with normal clothers. 7) A REAL RIP-OFF. The website is cheating the public. So please don't believe it.

This resort is located in moodabidri, approx a one hour drive from Mangalore. Had noticed this resort before and this time decided to give it a try simply because its probably the closest resort to Mangalore driving wise. The rate was approx Rs 5500 after taxes for 2 people for the base room including food. We were 3, so approx an additional Rs 1000 for the third person which also included food.
Go to check in and firstly the receptionist asks for payment. Prior to stay completed. That's a first. Not sure if a lot of people skip out on their bills here or what but usually asking for payment prior to a stay being completed basically means they don't have to do much service wise to earn it. Then payment is asked for in cash because the credit card machine is not working due to the rains. Really? Now its just sounding fishy but surely if you have setup a large resort, surely you can make sure your payment processing system is working. Thankfully we wound up having that much cash on us so we handed that over. Then we were told that the manager isn't there so the receipt will only be issued the next day. Really....how does one not feel suspicious at this point.
So key point, the website I believe says the hotel has wifi. There is no wifi.
Anyways, we say alright and head over to our cottage. The cottage itself actually looks pretty nice from outside. Sadly from inside its more or less bare bones which is disappointing. The extra persons sleeping arrangement basically meant putting a mattress on the floor to sleep on. No extra cot or anything. The bathroom was probably the worst bit as you can see from the pictures. Look I get that this resort is located in the middle of essentially what is a village but you are also charging 4-5* hotel prices so I expect equivalent amenities. Couple grand more and you could be staying at the Taj nearby which is a world class resort.
The pool area wasnt particularly nice. It didnt look like the pool is maintained regularly and there was a lot of gunk in it. Not something I would willingly step into. There is a spa on site as well. There also really isnt much to do in the hotel itself so it does get boring fast.
Meals are included in the rate plan. However note that this is supposed to be a health resort so the food accordingly is made that way. We found the food to be average and light on the flavor side but realized that was probably made that way since its supposed to be healthy.
Bottom line, for the price paid, it wasn't worthwhile at all. Maybe at half what is charged. Location is average. They need to work on things to do within the resort since there is nothing else around. Cottages are nice from outside but they really need to up what is on the inside. The bathroom needs to be massively upgraded. The pool needs to be maintained. It is one of the only things on the resort to spend time in and its poorly maintained. Food was average in general. Don't think I will be coming back anytime soon.
