As always, Ocean Pearl exceeded my expectations, this time by providing a leisurely transit as my family and I prepared to shift into a new home. The room service(offering a versatile array of cuisines and seamless responsiveness), complementary breakfast(packed with nutrition and indulgent local delicacies in equal measure) and impeccable housekeeping(that mindfully stocked our room with water bottles during the entire course of our stay in light of the scorching Mangalore sun)! It is a matter of pride to see an institution so faithful to its Tulu Nadu roots, soaring to new heights with every subsequent stay.

My recent stay at a hotel in Mangalore was disappointing to say the least. Despite opting for the premium suite, the room felt dated and lacked the comfort expected for the price. The overall ambiance of the hotel was underwhelming; the poorly lit lobby constantly reeked of food, which was off-putting.
The staff, with a few exceptions, seemed inexperienced and overly intrusive. Their lack of hospitality knowledge was evident, making interactions uncomfortable. Room service was another letdown; it was slow and often delivered incorrectly.
The hotel itself is quite old, and this shows in its facilities and maintenance. For the amount charged, the value simply wasn’t there. Considering the numerous alternatives in Mangalore, one can easily find better accommodations at significantly lower prices.
My 10-day vacation was significantly impacted by the disappointing experience at this hotel. I strongly recommend prospective travelers consider alternative accommodations in the area unless there are notable improvements in service quality and amenities.

We have stayed at the Ocean Pearl many times over the last 12 years, often for more than 10 days at a time. We always find the rooms scrupulously clean, the restaurant food delicious, especially the breakfasts, and the staff as friendly as you will find anywhere on earth. We just finished our 11-day stay and found no difference in 2025 than we did in 2013. It is really a wonderful place to stay. We'd like to give a special call-out to Nagaveni and Rathna on our floor 6 who took such incredible care of us. Our room was never cleaner, we saw lovely flowers every day, plenty of water, and they were always around when we needed anything. We could not have asked for anything more. This is the best place to stay in Mangalore (we have tried others and came straight back to the OP!

I’ve stayed at the Ocean Pearl Navbharath Circle at several occasions in the past. I chose the AJ Grand hotel initially, but since the room sizes were small compared to the Ocean Pearl, I moved within a day. Mr Gangadhar the GM was very helpful and welcoming. The reception staff showed me the room they would provide me with, however I was informed later that a different room would be provided instead. This was indeed a smoking room which I really couldn’t tolerate and the manager that checked me in as a matter of fact was untruthful and just so that I could check in informed that this was a no smoking room. I was informed later at several occasions after noticing nicotine fumes that this was indeed in a smoking zone as all rooms on 5,6 and 7 floors were smoking zone. I must say Mr. Panchanan the restaurant manager was very welcoming, hospitable and greeted and served us with warmth. Mr. Dinesh Munan is also extremely helpful. Whilst checking out since the a/c did not work in my room leading to sleepless nights in a humid city like Mangalore in the summer, I was provided with a generous discount and I thank the manager for facilitating this. I think my rating therefore reflects the current situation. If there was an option for half’s I would have given it a 3.5. Thanks and look forward to seeing you again as I don’t think there is an alternative in Mangalore.

Stayed in a deluxe room with triple occupancy. The check in and check out process was smooth and quick. We were allotted a room in 4th floor. The room was spacious and well maintained and fitted with sofa, table, tv, central AC etc. Extra bed was easily accommodated. The washroom was neatly maintained too and provided with necessary toiletries. Our package included breakfast and one major meal. The buffet breakfast and lunch had adequate veg, non-veg and desert options, the foods were tasty too. All the staffs were courteous and responsive. The hotel is situated at a perfect location, walking distance from city mall, auto is available at doorstep. The hotel seems to be a popular destination for party and gathering, consequently hotel lobby, lift etc. become very busy and at times may be inconvenient for in-house guests. The hotel provides mosquito repellent, shaving kit and slippers on request. While we had asked for slippers and shaving kit, we didn’t ask for mosquito repellent, which was a mistake, got mosquito bites in the night. Barring this, the stay was satisfactory.

The highlight of our trip aboard was our two-week stay at Ocean Pearl. It was an absolute delight, largely due to the incredible staff who went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional.
Swetha Nayak the wonderful host at the reception, along with the many others just as professional, deserves special recognition for her outstanding hospitality. Her warm welcome and genuine care set the tone for our stay at OP. She was not only efficient but also a wealth of information, offering us tips for shopping and exploring the area, and ensuring that all our needs were promptly met, especially as we set out in the morning after enjoying the fantastic breakfast at the hotel.
Our trustworthy housekeeper, on the seventh floor, deserves a special mention as well for her meticulous attention to detail. Every day, our room was flawlessly maintained, and her dedication to cleanliness truly contributed to our comfort throughout our stay.
The restaurant staff and servers were yet another highlight of our experience. Their impeccable service and friendly demeanor added a layer of warmth to our dining experiences. They were not only attentive but also highly knowledgeable about the menu, making excellent recommendations and attentively accommodating the dietary restrictions of one of our family members. It was a remarkably professional team.

Room service and cleaning and housekeeping is also very supportive, sorab and floor attendent Savitha and Ajay, supervisor rathna, Abu Salim those staff always available whenever u need. The Deluxe rooms were fantastic. Also the cuisine was too good. Service by staff including room cleaning staff was excellent. Worth the price. The location was also suitable to us as the function location was walking distance and some of my relatives were also at walking distance. The ambience of the Hotel was good and there was courteous staff to welcome us.
