I have stayed in resorts and homestays around the world, also in other places in Chikmagalur. This one particularly stood out as this was a weird & bad experience for us. My stay was interrupted by Police visiting this place and there was commotion with the owners of this property. Don't know what is the reason for that. This is the last thing you expect when you come to unwind. I won't recommend this place as anyone can get this nasty surprise anytime, you may have to prove you are staying with your wife.
Stumbled upon this GEM of a place by accident, while wandering in kemmangudi. Highly recommended to all that are looking for living in the lap of mother nature. Away from the maddening din of city life.
Loved the house surrounded by the beauty of nature, and of course, with excellent hospitality. This was our first ever time at a homestay. The owners (Fernandes family) were warm-hearted and very amicable. We went for a morning walk near their house, and reached up to the shooting spot of young Puneet Raj Kumar's Kannada Movie of 1985, "Bettada Hoovu". The dogs were well trained and would lead us for our protection when we went for a morning walk. The dormitories are very clean. We were served breakfast, lunch, Barbeque and dinner which was simple but quite yummy. We had a chance to play lot of Card games like UNO with their second son, Brennan, and enjoyed the great Magic show from the little champ. Of course, we had hell lot of fun, laughed out loud and enjoyed. We had a pleasant stay for one night. And yeah, we had got an opportunity to watch the Sunset from a place called Z-Point (35mins trekking from the starting point) at Kemmangundi, where Brennan guided us throughout (thanks for that). Also, Hebbe Falls was not too far from the homestay. Would highly recommend this place for a good homestay. Thanks and Cheers ! -Shashank Gururaj and Family…
Visited there with colleagues, it is i beleive one of the best home stays in Chikmagalur. Surrounded by coffee estates, most exotic wildlife and nicest people.we spotted a Malabar squirrel almost in the garden of the home stay. Food is amazing and barbeque is well exquisite. A must stay location if you are in Chikmagalur.
After a long time, (and I m an avid frequent traveller), i am happy to write a review, which gives 5 stars to all depts of the property. Location - Excellent, on a hill, with wonderful vistas, waterfalls close by, a gurgling stream running through the property, verdant greenery with tall mature indigenous trees harbouring excellent bird life. Rooms - Squeaky clean, basic, with spotless linen and clean bathroom with running hot water. Food - Delicious food served in sumptous quantities, on a dining table in the verandah with greenery all round. Service - Impeccable service, very attentive host Mr Robin and his wife, who go out of their way to make their guests comfortable, It's a homestay; and the hosts make you feel like valued family guessts. You just can't go wrong if you select this property for a very pleasant expereince.…
Totally lived up to expectations. If you Go to Goa get a private transfer to Wildernest and it’s an easy 2 hour drive to Karnataka. Just magical. Some of the walks quite challenging. I slipped and opted out of more difficult walk. The hotel got 2 staff to take us an easier route which was straight out of a Darjeeling tea advert with footprints of exotic animals and amazing flora. Highly recommended.
We were two families , Visited there on April , Its a beautiful property, u cud have walks in the propoerty itself. Thd food made by Antony the chef was very good . The barbeque chicken was perfectly cooked. The places to see nearby are many but hebbe falls shud stand out as its a half day trio from the resort to Hebbe falls and back. The rooms and hospitality are good. robin and chetana are warm hosts. Wouldlike to visit again
True to its name, it is a perfect nest in the wilderness that we seek out. The hosts Robin, Chethana and Brennin were more an extended family, Anthony and others cooked some of the exquisite veggie dishes that we always ended up missing on all such trips. And how can we forget their pets who made it a moment to remember. A must-visit for anyone seeking out relaxation away from the mechanical life out in the metros/cosmos and a no-brainer for any of the pure veggies out there.
Went for a One night trip with office colleagues and it was perfect..food was the highlight... The homestay is in a very serene location and the campfire n barbeque setting was too good.. would love to go again...
Homestay no words. I was referred by my cousin and amazing to stay. Delicious food and good hospitality. My family members had a fantastic time and will surely refer others too. Its a very good spot for relaxation. Thank you.
