9 of us from Bangalore were planning for a stay in Sringeri, but due to the Navaratri festival and thanks to my last minute planning we did not get any accommodation in Sringeri. This led to my search for an alternative place and i stumbled upon this homestay thanks to Google. After reading the impressive positive reviews on various sites, i reached out to Prathik to check on availability. And it did not take a lot of time for me to decide to stay there. About the hosts : Prathik usually is the face for all travellers and does a very good job of coordinating and explaining. His Mother Mrs. Padma is the person who hosts us while we are staying and is the true heartline for this homestay feeding all the guests with sumptuous delicacies that will stay in your mind long after you leave the place. Prathik's father take care of the property and is very prompt and proactive to ensure that the guests feel at home Overall all 3 of them combine like clock work to give a wholesome experience The property : The main block where the guests stay is a 100+ year old building. Reasonably well maintained. The lighting was a little less inside one of our rooms during the night, but it was not a big aspect. Food: The biggest plus for us was the sumptuous and tasty served piping hot for each meal. We really enjoyed the dinner by the campfire on a chilly evening . The level of attention paid by the hosts even to the tiny details was visible when they brought a bucket of hot water for us to wash hands :-) Overall it was a memorable trip for us and we all hope to visit again in the future…
We have stayed in this homestay for 2 nights and our experience was awstruck. This trip was to celebrate our 6years of marriage, and the hosts did their best to make us feel special. They decorated the place, arranged barbeque followed by finger licking dinner. The hostess used to prepare excellent food herself with lots of love and care. Each and every person in the homestay was ever smiling and always at our service whenever needed. Big KUDOS to the team, excellent work. One who wishes to relax amidst nature away from hustle bustle of the city, should opt for this homestay. The overall stay at this place is pretty economic as well keeping in mind the services rendered-Extremely clean rooms, awesome hospitality, yummy food, visit to the coffee plantation etc. We would definitely pay a visit again. Thanks for everything.…
We have been in two times. Food , rooms and maintainance ,hospitality is awesome. Instead of staying in chikamaglur with all busy homestay and hotels . You can stay here. Since you can travel and feel the nature . Morning waking up with rustling sound of peacock, other birds and the surrounded by greenery will be a happy experience. You get a real village kind of environment . People from cities will love this place and will feel like to stay here permanently . Its not about money and distance . Its the feel you get and one to be remembered . But yes ,pack well for the cold weather this season and for nights!
Fantastic experience, though it was just an oversight stay. The initial plan was to spend three nights, however due to unforeseen circumstances we had to change it to a night stay. Let's take it from the start - Right from my first interaction with Prathik and Pradhvin (brothers) till saying goodbye to their family, everything we had experienced was outstanding. This place is about 30-40 min from main Chikmagalur. Nestled amidst coffee plantation, this is the right place if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway. Added with the warmth of this family of four members, this place truly provides a 'home-away-from-home' experience. The bonus is the finger-licking tasty food prepared by Mrs. Padma (Prathik and Pradhvin's mother). The homestay has three rooms with additional space on top of one of the rooms that can accommodate 7 additional single beds. This room is a classic since it is over 100 years old. Preserving its heritage feel, the room opens to a nicely maintained verandah (sit out), which then opens to the backyard. Pradhvin had taken us for a short tour of coffee plantation. I was surprised by the level of detail with which this young college-going boy had explained the process of coffee production. After a relaxing and informative tour of coffee plantation, we had a sumptuous and tasty meal for dinner. Prathik had insisted that we spend some time sitting around a cozy bonfire that his father had set up, affectionately. The next day, we had to leave for our next destination however not before a grand breakfast and a tour of their vegetables and fruits garden. We were amazed by the variety of vegetables and fruits they had grown. Mrs. Padma was generous to offer us couple of fruits from her garden. In all, it was a memorable experience. We would definitely make a trip again. Thanks to Prathik, Pradhvin and their parents for their hospitality.…
We 2 families with kid and pet Stayed for 2 nights and 3 days at Yelagudige Homestay. It was a mixture of pros and cons experience. Pros: 1. Hospitality and behaviour is very friendly. 2. Per person/night price is lesser than others. 3. Yelagudige Homestay is pet friendly ( they had their own too) . You can hardly get any pet friendly homestay. 4. You can get very well details of the tourist spots. 5. It's far from City 22km , so you can spend your time peacefully considering if you have own vehicle. 5. I received Jade plant as souvenir gift. Cons: 1. Rooms are small and Dark. Led lights provided is of very low power. 2. Food was not upto the mark. No evening snacks only tea/ coffee with biscuits. 3. All the furniture like bed or dinning chairs are very risky to use as all of those starts making sound as soon as sit / sleep. 4. Almost 22 km far from chickmaglur main city. Which makes difficult to go to hebbe falls and z-point. Rest most of the spot can be covered. 5. Do not try for estate walk as it's difficult through the jungle without any clean path and leeches may be there. Leeches you can get at most of places in chickmaglur.…
