This was our first long road trip with my little munchkin. He is an year old and we booked this place after lot of deliberation. Was worried about the cold weather, his home cooked food, insects and mosquitoes and a list of things to say the least. We stayed for two nights and we ended up having the most enjoyable time with our baby. Parimal and his small team took the utmost care and went out of the way to make us comfortable. The place is beautiful, one of the best I experienced in Coorg, Chikmagalur area. The bungalow belongs to Captain Gopinath (Air Deccan ) and each nook and corner of the bungalow is tastefully curated giving you a feel of luxury and Intake class. Quickly summarising the pros: 1) Cottages and rooms are huge and beautifully done like any 5 start resorts,…
My wife and I had the privilege of staying at Captain’s Bungalow early Aug., 2019 for aweekend. It was a wonderful experience. It was the monsoon season and the rains brought a particular mystical charm to the whole environment including the cottage. The low hanging water bearing clouds were magical. I will come back to this place to enjoy the other seasons as well. Captain’s cottage is truly unforgettable as it blends well with the nature. It is difficult to capture in words the beauty of the cottage, the warmth of the people who take care of the Cottage, the lovely breakfasts/dinners, the joy of playing with the friendly dogs or indeed the great hospitality of Captain and his wife. These experiences will stay with you forever. These moments were captured in our photos…

We went to captains Bunglow with no expectations, read about it on the net some good comments and some not so good comments. It is a beautiful property and the staff there is wonderful!!! We had most amazing South Indian food and we were treated like a family. Would love to go back, whenever I need to chill. Met and made some great friends!!!
As the title goes, it indeed is a mesmerizing home stay amidst lush green coffee plantation. We visited the place in the monsoon & I was spellbound. A relaxing place if you need a break from the city chaos & want to find a stay more closer to nature. Spacious rooms, beautifully maintained interiors, yummy food & courteous staff - what more can you ask for !!! And not to forget, the dogs are extremely friendly & obedient. My 3 yr old son loved playing with them. To put it together, it was a top notch experience - words & pics merely do the justice. Thank you Capt. Gopinath & Bhargavi for creating such an amazing place !!!
Beautiful location in and around Chikmagalur; one of the best places I’ve been to! Pictures don’t do justice. Luxurious rooms and bathrooms, amazing food and quality service. All in all, a top notch experience!
I visited here with my family and friends. We all enjoyed a lot here. Weather was very good. Food is very tasty. Here staff are very friendly. Rooms are well maintained. This is not like a hotels or resorts. We feel here that we are staying in our native places. Totally everything was very good.
I would not be exaggerating when I say it's heaven on hills. This is by far the most impressive stay. The bungalow is awesome very tastefully designed in rock with wood fired fire places the decor ,art, location friendly staff they view of the lush Green hills the list goes on. The rooms are extremely spacious with wooden flooring tall King size cots n cozy beds large glass windows and humungus bathrooms. One can't miss admiring amazing paintings and artifacts they add to the decor. Food was simple and yummy. All this admist lush 200 acres coffee plantation we couldn't have asked for more. This would become my must travel every mansoon. Thanks Capt Gopinath for creating this amazing place.
We stayed there with family and friends over a weekend. The place is excellent. The Rooms are very well maintained, neat, clean and very well furnished. We were a group of 6 families. Eventhough the tents and other rooms are a bit far away from the main bungalow building, the stay inside the rooms was really comfortable. I loved the way their bathrooms are designed. The rooms are very spacious. There are no activities - as we didnt expect any, that was fine with us. It is a place to relax and chill. Now the let downs: It is very expensive and I feel it is not worth the money we spend. (Dont mistake it for the "Value for Money" thing. When you check out, you will feel that you paid more for what you got) The food served was not so great - The highlight of a homestay would be the…
Before I go into the details of the factors which were a huge letdown for me, let me make it very clear that the rooms and the bungalow itself are very well maintained with fine interior decorations and the rooms were comfortable to stay in. 1) People who dislike or are afraid of dogs please do not opt for this property. We had a terrible time with kids and few of the ladies being terrified of the huge dogs which keep coming and sniffing you. Even after repeated requests (4-5 times) the dogs kept coming back. My daughter stayed inside the room for most of the day. I felt the dogs were more important then the guests in this property. 2) The food was just about average and we were served uncooked chicken for the barbeque. When the food was returned for further cooking we ended up…
