I was on the look out for a home stay for a family trip and I happened to come across Captains Bungalow- right from their website, to the person ( Cecilia) who was completely helpful in arranging everything for us, it has been quite smooth - the transactions, the conversations everything has been smooth and clear. The property and the service was truly amazing- it was in Monsoon in paradise for us. We met as a family after solid 2 years and we couldn't have had a better platform for this! The team at the Bungalow made my daughter's birthday so much more beautiful than what we anticipated and expected. The property has wonderful staff who ensured our stay was impeccable. I have to specially mention a few people- Mr.Perumal, Mr. Vishwa, Mr. Thimraj- they made our stay and…
I am just back from a weekend getaway at Captain's Bungalow. A weekend very well spent with friends. Not just me, but all of my friends too absolutely loved the place. We had booked off the entire bungalow to ourselves. We were 17 of us. Our initial count was 15 people, 2 more joined us at the last moment. This was not informed to the property, but on arrival they were more than welcoming and obliged to make arrangements for the additional two people without any issues. Food was excellent and sumptuous. We requested for a particular food item for dinner which again was arranged without any issues. The property is very well maintained. The property is a blend of traditional south Indian and colonial architecture. Every room has a fireplace but the weather was quite warm. There…
I travelled solo to Chikmagalur during 26th Jan holiday ( 26 -28) this year. It took sometime to pen down my experience but nevertheless here it goes. This place in nothing short of a writer's paradise, where one would want to get lost amidst serenity of the nature and simple life. Mr. Natesha has been very accommodating to show me around the plantation, I interacted with the beetle-nut staff and watched the processing of coffee seeds. It is really refreshing to walk around the plantation and talk to people. There is a small pond in the plantation, perfect to pick up a novel and sit on one of the benches by its side and spend a lazy morning. But the most warm and welcoming are the 4 canines that would happily accompany you and blend in as if they know you for ages. My room was…
Peace, delighted, blisss, relaxation, scenically, greens, forestry, out of hassle Basel definition is place called "Captains Bungalow ". We as family enjoyed the stay and the hospitality of the Captain. We will surely be visiting soon. Thank you
Stayed at Captains bunglow homestay for a night last week. Went there after reading the good reviews but frankly speaking we were little disappointed. No doubt its a nice property and a good experience to stay in old style bunglow but there is nothing much to do there. Few things which bothered us 1. Breakfast, lunch n dinner timing. They give breakfast at 930 AM which is bit late if you are going with kids/elders. Also there was only one option of puri/saag. Atleast when you are charging 5k per head, you should have 2-3 basic options in breakfast like corn flakes, boiled egg or bread/butter. They provide lunch at 2 PM and dinner at 10 PM. So please do carry enough snacks with you if you are going with kids. 2. If you just want to go and relax and sit doing nothing then its a…
Gorgeous house with a lovely staff led by Mr. Natesha and 4 super well behaved dogs, I had a wonderful time at Captains Bungalow. It was definitely one of my best holidays in India! The property is beautiful and there are small hikes around the place. The house in it self is so lovely, filled with interesting knickknacks and ancient magazines. The food is just out-of-world good! The staff put on an amazing Bonfire night clubbed with delicious barbecue which goes brilliantly with the weather. I look forward to coming back again!
In all our trips out, this was perhaps the best experience we've had. The Captain's Bungalow has the perfect mix of beautiful scenery, warm and hospitable people, good food and lovable pets. The bungalow is nestled in the midst of a coffee estate and the sight of the hills lends a certain calmness to oneself. You can take a quite walk along the winding paths through the plantation, or sit by the duck pond in quiet contemplation and completely forget the stress of city life. There are three bedrooms in the bungalow and each has its own fire place. It was really nice to sit by the crackling fire on those cold December nights. The food is nice and homely and the staff are more than happy to oblige, to make your stay comfortable. They were extremly nice to arrange a little…
Stayed at Captains Bungalow Home Stay for 2 nights in December 2015. writing about the experience very late but will be best in providing true review about this place. It was one of the most amazing home stays I have ever had. It has the most lovely surrounding. Beautiful views. The room was very well maintained, clean and spacious . The food is just mouth watering... excellent... absolutely enjoyed it. We got to taste some local cuisines that we had never tasted before. Thanks to Mr. Natesh for his hospitality and their friendly staff.
This was one of the most hospitable stays that we have had over the years. The scenery of the western ghats is amazing from the verandah's. You can infact gaze into the distance of the hills and the areca nut plantations all day and not feel bored. The estate is quite lush with pepper plantations and not to mention the coffee that is grown all over. The cooks are amazing and the food is so homely. The roasting of the coffee in the kitchen fills the entire bungalow with a wonderful aroma in the mornings. The highlight of the trip was the barbeque night along with the tandoor specialities. The malnad cuisine is terrific and mild and of course can be customized according to your taste buds. Mr.Natesh who is the caretaker of the estate is extremely friendly and treats you like…
