We were a mother daughter who travelled to Chikmagalur by ksrtc sleeper bus to Chikmagalur. Had informed the host previous day. She was so kind to check on us at 6 am! Per her advice we hired a taxi and reached the home stay in 15 minutes. It was a very simple room with basic facilities and homely feeling. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner so lovingly served by the host everyday and tasty coffee. She was very kind to always keep our safety in mind and decide on her guest. We managed to have lunch daily at Siri cafe close by. Per the host advice we walked down to kaimara, hired auto and went around the city. For mulayingiri visit we hired taxi for day which was convenient. Thank you Shalini madam for pampering us during the stay!!
Overall a good experience. The amenities provided were outstanding. Privacy is great. There are indoor games such as chess and carrom. There's a volleyball court available. The people there are really helpful and the scenery is mind blowing.
Perfect place to stay if you have small to medium sized group (4-8 people). you have full privacy with all requirements taken care of. Rooms are spacious and clean. Food is homely and delicious; There is a bonfire to sit by in winter nights. There are indoor games such as chess and carrom. There's a volleyball court available. Cricket and badminton equipment are also provided. The homestay is in the middle of a coffee plantation. There are walking trails where you can go for a stroll in the morning. Loved our stay. Will highly recommend.
I had been to chickmagaluru for more than 10 times and stayed in different different homestay, but this one stands in last place. For them only money matters, they asked us to leave rooms at midnight. If you are a biker then is not a place at all. Head of this homestay -Shalini was rude to us while leaving. Just because someone booked at higher price, they asked us to leave at midnight. While booking she just asked us to send advance amount and didn't mentioned check-in and check-out time, but on our last but one day of our stay, out of nowhere she asked us to pay and leave the place, it looked like threatening to us. As a biker I know the pain of packing and leaving, at midnight we started packing and left early morning without taking proper nap.
Its very poor service from the Homestay owner cum executive. Instead of giving the good experience to the customer in homestay she is been asking about check out time always, which leads to inconvenience and bad experience ever happened in the chikamagalur. Owner is money minded and denied about her commitment about the extended checkout timing for us. She asked for early checkout only because some other people booked the resort on high prices ( weekend). She had not informed properly about checkin and checkout timing clearly to us. She didn't have concern of apologizing customer for losing commitment.
Concentrated on money business than customer satisfaction. Worst ever hospitality. Planning of slots for different groups are not done properly, which impacted negatively on our schedule and mental stability.
One of the worst experiences we ever had in homestays. It had 4.5 rating and that's why we thought of exploring the place but we realised service and hospitality was really bad. We were told to checkout before the actual checkout time that to in the middle of the night just because they accepted some more reservations.
We travelled with a 10month old and our parents. The hosts never came to visit us apart from the time when we arrived. Food was good but less variety and quantity. Rooms are ok but not to complain as it's a homestay. No snacks nothing even on demand. Over all won't recommend the place.
we stayed at Thanmaya in Jan 2020 with 4 members and 2 kids. Nice and pleasant to stay here. Food was awesome, its homemade food and really awesome taste!. They were very friendly and we got everything we asked for our kids like hot water, milk at midnight also. we as a family enjoyed ourselves a lot and we were so happy to stay there. Also, this place is very near to Mullayangiri, Bababudangiri, Hirekole lake. a very nice and calm place to stay in the center of coffee estate.
I stayed here for a night with my family. Enjoyed the stay... Very calm place inside a 30 acre estate... Night was cold...Bonfire experience was great... Finally, don't miss the food .... Ms Sheela, the landlady, provided us with really tasty food .. would love to visit the plac again
