It is here that various traditions were discovered, refreshed and most of them still in practice. Aralaguppe is one such story – the rich heritage coupled with a royal touch. Aralaguppe Heritage was built in the year 1780 by Aralaguppe Chandregowda.

To escape the mundaneness of everyday life, we booked a holiday for a group of 12 people and 2 children for 3 days and 2 nights. We are a usually a hard bunch to please but Madan (the manager) and the Aralaguppe team surprised us with exceptional customer service and made our stay memorable.

Firstly, the location, the estate and the restored heritage home on the foothills of Chickmagalur are spot on! The rooms, the bathrooms, the courtyard, the dining room, the decor and every other aspect of the property is on theme and are beautifully presented to give you a very traditional, regal and rustic feel. During the winter months the team gets a bon fire going in the evenings and sitting around a fire, sharing stories was on of the most fun and relaxing things we had done in a long time. You are also allowed to have a peaceful walk around the coffee estate, and spot peacocks, exotic birds and old trees. Don’t forget to take your cameras!

Given how important cleanliness is with an ongoing pandemic, all areas were kept very clean and sanitized. Madan, who is a highly qualified professional in the hospitality industry, took care of the little things, and catered to our every whim and fancy and trust me those things matter the most.

The food, which is a very important aspect of a holiday, was healthy, fresh and very delicious. But, the coffee, I have to say was exceptional. You can place an order to buy coffee powder made from the coffee grown in the estate to take with you. Please make sure to clarify the quantity and the exact price before placing the order.

The cellphone service there rightly is minimal and that is a very important aspect that helps families bond and relax. There is plenty on the property to do to pass time. They had chess, table tennis, foosball, and a pair of badminton racquets. Once the pandemic has passed, they plan on opening their beautiful pool and the bar by the pool for use.

The owners come by to interact with the guests now and then and literally everyone on the team is always up for a conversation. They are also the best people to ask for recommendations to visit any other tourist attractions around or to shop for species in the town. Thank you to Madan and the team for a wonderful holiday!

Finally, a big shout out to Somanna, our fire guy! :D

Nestled amidst lush green coffee plantation, lies this 2 century old heritage property, now converted into a beautiful homestay. Nitin and his wife are a lovely couple who literally made us feel at home, taking care of us during the entire duration and at the same time giving us our space. Rooms are big and spacious.with all the required amenities and the toilets clean and hygienic. The property is surrounded by a lot of greenery/garden with flowers, has a pool for the kids, indoor sports area and a massive dining area. You can go for long walks and treks exploring the estate and coffee plantation Food is delicious and hygienic - huge buffet spread and customized to your liking. We spent 2 nights getting pampered with all the love and affection that we had such a difficult time to leave the place. We did with a heavy heart but with a lot of wonderful memories to cherish for a lifetime!

While on a business trip near Chickmagalore I was looking forward to unwind for a couple of days. I decided to try a home stay closer to the my place of work which I seldom do. Nithin of Thipanahalli fame suggested to try Aralaguppe their heritage home. I decided to keep it as a surprise with my wife who I coaxed to join me on this trip. Both of us were in for a real great surprise when we drove into the property to be welcomed by Arpitha with her beautiful mile to discover a truly rich heritage home so immaculately done up and remodelled with beautifully appointed rooms, spacious bathrooms, excellent landscaping, garden, a pool with a bar, indoor sports pavilion and separate dining area (indoor & outdoor) truly to suit the heritage and the property layout. The place is awesome for a bite stay to unwind as I did, a family or an outing with friends, destination wedding for the chosen few.
The food and hospitality was just awesome and I have no better words for both Arpitha and Nothin and their lovely staff. The food was as amazing as the rich heritage. We enjoyed each and every meal and also not to mention the lovely filter coffee served in traditional cups. I very much look forward to come back to the richness of the tradition, heritage, hospitality and great food at a lovely location amidst nature. Cheers !!

We wanted a peaceful getaway from the city for couple of days and this homestay did more than justice to our motive. The place is absolutely picturesque and very calming. Every corner of the property is done up very tastefully and the people managing the place are very warm, proactive and more than willing to take care of our requirements. The food was fresh, homely and in abundance. Thank you once again for a very rejuvenating holiday.

As a Manglorian, I have grown up in a traditional guthu house with plenty of wooden pillars and courtyards. But when I visited the Aralaguppa home stay I was awestruck by the magnificence of the 240 year old house and its impeccable maintenance.
The beautiful surroundings and pleasant climate made it a memorable experience for me and my family.

We have been to chickmaglore numerous times in the past due to its easy access and good roads from Bangalore.
Aralaguppe has been by far our best stay in Chickmaglore.
It's close to the city and golf course but located in the middle of a vast coffee estate. Once at the location all one hears is the sound of birds and cicada we are completely cut off from the hustle and bustle of the touristy town.
The home itself is 240 years old! and a sight to behold. The central courtyard is as beautiful as can be and is tastefully done up by the hosts.
The hosts themselves, Arpita and Nitin are always happy and keen to help and assist in any way possible.
Looking forward to finding another opportunity to go to Aralaguppe again.

Aralguppe Heritage, a wonderfully located property takes you through its stately entrance into the palace like courtyard which exudes royal grandeur. The well appointed rooms are cosy and comfortable with tidy corridors and washrooms. Beyond the rooms lie the beautifully landscaped gardens which look an extension of tHe coffees plantation.
The food was excellent and the hospitality by Nitin and Arpita was great. The kids and the grown ups had tremendous fun with something for everyone to do. Looking forward to going back again.

We visited this beautiful homestay for 2 nights and it was a bliss. Kudos to the Aralaguppe family for creating a beautiful ambience with their antique collection which they have curated beautifully. The aesthetics of the bungalow is top notch. Every corner of the property exudes the essence of Malnad architecture and culture.
The location is placed tactically amidst the lush green coffee plantation, where you are surrounded with plants and forest. Its in the middle of nowhere, yet easily accessible from anywhere. You are spoilt for choices when it comes to activities and food. The spread is a delicious buffet of Indian cuisine including delicacies from the Malnad region. They put up a special bonfire to sing and dance away your evenings.
The rooms are a special heaven in their own rights. They are simple, cozy but very stylish. Eye to detail requires a special mention. All in all, loved my stay. Can’t wait to go back.
P.S: The host Nitin is one of the reasons the Homestay is what it is. His calm exuberance and service-oriented mindset accompanied by an ever smiling, gracious demeanor wins brownie points.

Elegance luxury comfort is what one can experience in this vintage and majestic homestay. It was my first time experiencing a Thoti Mane ( tradional houses in this area with a open courtyard). The place is very hygnenic and well maintained. It is easily approachable and the coffee estate around as such is very nice to walk through.

The hosts were caring and were always avaliable for anything we needed.
The food was very tasty and the dinning hall is also clean and well maintained.

The local attractions were all easily approachable from this place.

We had a great time enjoying our visit and experiencing the royal treatment given to us. Hoping to visit the place again soon.
