We selected the place post recommendations from a very good friend who visited some years back.....and the place just went beyond expectations. We were a group of 12 adults +1 kid booked for 3 nights, including 2 very senior citizens. When travelling with senior citizens, you need to be sure of the facility and Nischit ensured us from day 1 that we had nothing to worry, and as promised they helped us with rooms which were very well-equipped for senior citizens. It is a beautiful property located in the middle of the plantation and takes you good 3-4 mins to reach the main road so no sounds except that of nature. It is well maintained, surrounded by greenery and an amazing central area to spend time with family and enjoy the sun in the morning and bonfire at night. The rooms are large and can easily accommodate extra beds, if needed. Great Traditional food is served and they happily take care of your extra needs, in case you are travelling with a kid. The spread is lavish so you will have plenty of options to try. Nischit & Ruchika are great hosts and the attention they give to each family makes all feel welcome and at home. They have an amazing group of staff who are always eager to help you and attend to your requirements. Last but not the least - The Best Coffee is served here...They have converted us from perpetual tea drinkers to coffee lovers even post our return so buying their coffee is a must. I would 100% recommend Coffeebean home stay as a "Must Getaway" for all Bangalore folks. Do Plan in advance so that you are not disappointed due to non-availability. Wishing Nischit, Ruchika and the whole team at Coffeebean Home stay the best ahead.

We were a group of 13 people, and stayed at the coffeebean homestay for 4 nights. The rooms were spic and span and spacious. It is located amidst nature and is a great destination for a break from city life. The food is very delicious and served hot. Coffee and tea are served at request through out the day. Their malnad cuisine dishes were a big hit with our group. They have lots of open space to play cricket, badminton etc. There is also a TT table. I must mention about the hosts Nischit and Ruchika who are very warm, friendly and guide all guests about places to visit around the property etc. The staff are also very helpful. Overall a perfect property for a nice holiday n chikmagalur.

Last week of Dec '21 , we had a 4 day stay at the Coffee Bean Homestay in Chikmagalur. Run by Ruchika and Nischit, its a lovely getaway; where you can stay in one of their nicely laid out , clean cottages, tasteful and minimalist in decor. They serve you all the meals, as part of the stay and I can vouch for the typical homely local fare. The staff are always at hand to help and they go about their job with a smiling face. We also had a morning trek thru their plantation, enjoying the woody smell of the atmosphere, watching the Coffee plants and Pepper plants and walking by the beautiful pond with a massive Banyan tree by its side. The nights can be enjoyed in the courtyard, under a starry sky and other guests, around a homely bonfire. Ruchika engages with the guests personally and makes your stay so much more homely. We drove down from Mumbai and the road throughout, except minor patches are pretty nice . Only once you reach the plantation after a drive thru the meandering hill roads beyond Chikmagalur, you encounter exactly one and half kilometers of mud road. But that's pretty ok . Thank you Ruchika . Nischit and the ever smiling staff..Gopal, Santosh et al. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Word of caution, do not expect Hotel comforts, it's not supposed to be that . Enjoy the place as a Home in the wilderness and enjoy nature. There is connectivity but not very reliable. However wasn't a problem for us. We had a perfect family time.

Amazing property...totally impressed! We were 6 adults and 2 kids & spent 2 nights. Approach to the property through scenic roads was very enjoyable with the last 1km through the beautiful coffee estate itself. Hosts Nischith and his wife were very hospitable and took very good care of us. They helped us with local info & activities during the stay. They gave us a good tour of the coffee bean processing area. Food was excellent, good variety & served hot. Rooms are very clean, neat & comfortable with great views of the estate. The common area is very nicely done. We played TT as well. They lit a nice bonfire that kept us warm outdoors through the cold and rainy weather. The property staff was excellent too and took care of every request. All in all a great place, deserves 5 stars. Will definitely go back there again sometime. I would highly recommend staying here. Congrats to Nischith and his wife for this great property.

Recently visited Coffee Bean homestay on recommendations of one of my friends (I profusely thank him for the wonderful suggestion), and it turned out to be one of the finest places and home-stays I have ever visited. To give the basics (which are as such available on net as well as on their site), Coffee-bean is located 20 kms away from Chikmagalur city/town. These 20 kms include a 2 kms winding road within the estate. They have around 8 cottages, all nestled within really thick flora and fauna. The owner, Mr Nischit is the sixth generation of coffee plantation owners. Nishchit, his wife Ms. Rutika themselves stay on the estate along with Nishchit’s parents. If I keep writing paragraphs on all the pluses of Coffee-bean, it will run very long so I will quickly give some pointers 1. Each room size is awesome and has enough space to easily move around even after accommodating a real king size bed and an extra single bed. Bathrooms/toilets are also specious and hot water is available on tap. 2. The owners (Ms Rutika in our case, as Mr Nischit was out on personal work and could meet us only on night before our departure) were very magnanimous to provide everything required. Ms Rutika took keen personal interest about our visits to surrounding places and ensured that out driver gets correct guidance. 3. The support staff of Santhosh, Dileep and sudeep were quick to take care of everything. Particularly Santhosh was omnipresent, and given the size of the homestay (wrong wording, actually it is comparable to a resport), a lot of hard work is being put in by all the support staff. 4. Food quality was excellent. Apart from being excellent, the menu was apparently prepared after putting in a lot of thought. Every day, it was ensured that there is a new item/speciality. The food was prepared by two ladies who put in a lot of effort for quality. It was ensured that items like roti’s and Dosa’s were served hot. We were told that the sweet item was generally decided (and sometimes prepared also if I am not wrong) by Mr. Nischit’s mother herself. Though there were different sweets/custards in each meal (one in every meal), the “Tomato Halwa” which most of us had for first time, must find a special mention and was really yummy. 5. We were taken around the estate (free of cost. I must mention that many other estates charge 200 bucks for such visits) and since the beans picking season had started, we could also see how the beans are opened from fruit with the help of machines. Mr. Nischit’s father was generous enough to spare time and tell us all the details about how things are done. 6. The homestay has huge open space and in evenings, bone-fire was a regular feature. Pet lovers can get wonderful company by way of a pack of Dachshunds very nicely named Lucky, Chintu, Cola and such. A Persian cat “Silky” who was very docile, generally gave a very patient company in our evening singing sessions. 7. Add-on advantage - There is a small waterfall-cum-bathing place very much within the estate and those who enjoy bathing under a strong force of water can really enjoy. What else? There may be some missing points, but it will make the review too long. Though generally I am very stingy in giving reviews, Coffee-bean deserves a whole-hearted 5 Stars in all aspects. p.s. some general snaps are attached Photo/Picture Courtesy : Girish Tavker
