Detailed Reviews
I chanced upon this wonderful stay while looking for a pet-friendly accommodation, and I’ve never been so pleasantly surprised before! The Hidden Valley is gorgeous and beautifully maintained — the view from the main seating deck is lovely, and it’s an ideal place to curl up on an armchair with a book. The nightly bonfires are a great way to keep warm, and it’s great fun to watch their dogs, Jackie and Lucky, running around. The rooms are simple but very spacious, you can easily fit a whole family into one room. I spent most of my day outdoors so no major complaints with the rooms.
The Hidden Valley is an *excellent* option for a solo woman traveller, I felt extremely safe and comfortable. Probably one of my favourite aspects of this stay was the staff — Mr. Gautham and Mr. Raj are very courteous, attentive, respectful and incredibly kind. I had rescued a sick stray pup, and they did everything they could to make sure the puppy was comfortable and well taken care of :) So grateful to have met them. And Mr. Raj is a great cook, I’m usually a vegetarian but I made an exception for his delicious chicken curry.

We recently visited this place and had a very pleasant stay for 2 nights. Its a 30 acres property with coffee, rubber and pepper plantations. So if you are travelling for a day or two you can easily spend time going around it and there is no need to step out of the actual property. It has a small pond inside and we spent a nice afternoon just laying around it. We personally felt that plantations are not maintained properly and its turned into more of a jungle kind of environment, which actually does not make a difference for people visiting. Infact it adds a different kind of rawness and results in a small trekking kind of experience.
We opted for a family cottages as we were travelling with our pet. The rooms were very big and clean. They are very basic but nothing to complaint about. Bathrooms were cleans and had 24hrs hot water supply. Bedsheets/ quilts were all cleans and made the night sleep very comfortable. Our room was equipped with a small fridge. It had a TV but the DTH connection was not working and we were ok with that. The room had two table fans which we felt were not enough for March summer. Afternoon time felt very stuffy inside the rooms. Fitting a ceiling fan will definitely help.
Best part of the trip was food they served. All three meals had limited options but they were good. Especially their Non veg preparations were very good and had a distinct native tastes. Although Veg definitely had a scope for improvement and we felt that the vegetable choices could have been better during lunch/dinner serving. Since its homestay the food options are limited so in case if you need anything special make sure you let the caretaker, Mr Suraj know about it well in advance. He makes every efforts to make it available depending on availability. We requested for Mangalore buns for one of our evening snacks and those were one of the best that I have had in long time.
Staff is very helpful. The property Manager Mr Suraj and Arun were very helpful and made our stay comfortable. Special shoutout to their cook Raja. His cooking was excellent.
Overall its VFM homestay and you will not regret choosing it for the stay. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely look forward to visit it again.

The road to the Hidden Valley belies what’s ahead: the homestay is extremely nice, very peaceful and out of the way. Loved being on a coffee plantation and the aroma was wonderful.
The hosts were friendly and kind and anxious to help. The rooms were set up for families: most room’s accommodated at least 4 people.
It was clean and the beds were comfortable. Very nice place and I would stay there again if I was in this area.

Staying at hidden valley was great decision we took. They truly stick to what they promise to deliver, we got whatever was mentioned on their website.Owner and staff was humble, courteous and helpful. Owners interact with each guest like their own family members also at the same time they make sure of ones privacy. Food was really good, variety of homemade delicious dishes served.
Only thing which can be improved a bit is - rooms and bathrooms roof are made of conventional red tiles which leak from certain points in case of heavy rain.

The location is superb and scenic. It really is a "Hidden Valley".
The staff are very cooperative and try their best within the existing constraints to do their utmost for you. A special mention of Suraj, the Manager, Navdeep the caretaker and Raju the cook. Thank you for the wonderful time. Forgot Lucky and Blackie our four legged furry friends who greeted us so affectionately each time!!
We were among the first guests after the lock down and closure / reopening of the place so though hygiene was maintained, the maintenance needed attention but I guess that was reasonably acceptable enough as it takes time to get the place back to shape after a long gap
I have rarely come across a staff that goes to these levels of doing their best. Kudos to all of them and the kind personal attention of Mr Henry Aranha, the owner in ensuring the stay was memorable
On the food, excellent, though they serve you more than you can eat !!
Do remember its a HOME STAY and you will be satisfied !
We would go there again and again for sure

We were three families who spent five nights at the Homestay.
The booking process was very pleasant and the host Alan Aranha was very patient and courteous in addressing all the queries we had.
We checked in late evening and the Manager Alwyn guided us along the way to reach the destination. He also suggested an alternative route while returning back. We received a warm welcome from the staff.
We stayed in the main house which was neat and clean. The common space outside the rooms was an excellent spot to sit out and relax with a pleasant view. This space had glass doors which could be closed in the evenings to prevent insects etc from entering the rooms or during heavy rains.
There was variety in the food served and extremely well prepared by Santosh the cook. He would check with us if we had any preferences and would oblige whenever possible. The coffee and tea served were very refreshing.
The Manager Alwyn kept in touch with us regularly during our stay and guided us very well suggesting places we could go sightseeing or do some shopping.
During our stay we enjoyed playing badminton, a game of cards, a camp fire with barbecue set up by the staff and a walk through the coffee estate.
We were attended to very courteously and promptly by Arun and Santosh and were pampered all through our stay.
The place is safe for families and secluded from outside noise. Ideally keep your phone away to enjoy the sounds & soak in the beauty of nature, but if you require the internet, Airtel, Jio and limited BSNL networks operate. The place was good value for money.
Thank you Alan and the entire staff at Hidden Valley for providing us with five nights of a refreshing holiday.

The Hidden Valley is truly a beautiful hidden place on the outskirts of Chikmagalur.
Pros:
1. Beautiful Homestay
2. Service is too good. People are friendly, approachable and very helpful especially Noushad and Suraj
3. Pet friendly place and they also help with pet food. They also have a very friendly dog Lucky, rabbits, ducks and hens on the property which gives pets and kids a very connected and enjoyable feeling . My pet really enjoyed this stay.
4. The Homestay includes amenities at no additional cost like boating, plantation tour, indoor and outdoor games, tree house, relaxing on swings, bonfire and barbecue ( though these two could not be arranged as it was raining at night) unlike other Homestay who usually charge additionally for same.
5. Food quality was very good.
6. Water taste is good and there is no wastage.
7. Owner of the place Mr.Henry is very accommodating and helpful. He helped take special request for celebrating my husbands birthday.
Cons:
1. Approach road is kaccha (non-tar/mud ) road which was quite marshy due to the rains.
2. Location is suitable if you wish to stay in resort and completely unwind but it is far off from sightseeing points.

You can be a solo traveller, a couple, in a group of family/friends or people looking for a pet friendly homestay, look no further! The Hidden Valley is just the right place which is peaceful, amidst vast spread of coffee plantation, clean rooms, helpful staff and the most gracious host Mrs&Mr. Henry. They just define hospitality in the most unique way from ensuring a comfortable stay to making sure you eat well, there is no scope to diet here with the great spread. Highly recommend The Hidden Valley for the most incredible experience.

We visited the hidden valley in march and found it to be simple, non fancy accomodation though quite peaceful and very clean. If you want to have a relaxed holiday in the middle of green coffe estate, you can definitely visit this place.
The staff is very courteous and humble, Manager suraj and caretaker Noushad are really nice and helpful folks. They go out of their way to make stay comfortable.
The little things like ducks, kittens, hens, rabbits, dog add to the experience which our daughter liked.
There can be some improvements in the set menu for food, specially for vegeterian folks but thats the only advice I have. Although, the team took care and tried their best to align to our needs.
I am going to give it the highest rating , the extra star due to the staff hospitality . Keep it up.
