Our Native Village Eco Resort earns praise for its attentive staff who are described as going the extra mile for guests. The hotel's commitment to eco-friendliness and pet-friendly policies are appreciated, along with its picturesque location that guests often recommend. While the rooms are spacious and maintain a natural feel, some maintenance issues are noted. The value proposition is contested; some guests find the food overpriced with limited alternatives, despite satisfactory deals on accommodations. The atmosphere is lauded for its relaxing 'village' experience, yet there's room for improvement in amenities maintenance and cleanliness.

This place is situated literally in the middle of nowhere. You will come to know this as you try to reach this place. I took my family to this place and by the time i reached there i was super pissed and angry. When i left next day, i made a promise of returning here again.
Bad things first :
Neither google nor tom tom can guide you to this place. The route they show is closed around 2 kms before you reach the property. Resort has a beef with the govt and hence they cannot advertise the proper route also. One hint though, set destination to "SLBTC Lake end circle". From hence follow google map towards the property.
Good things :
Room : Clean, Airy, ventilated rooms. Squeaky clean washroom with hot water availability. I stayed in room #3.

Staff : Very humble and helpful. Random guys will smile at you and ask if your stay is good.

Food : Chef is from Himachal. He insisted we have rogan josh and boy was that perfect. Morning breakfast buffet had idly and crispy medu vada which can put a random 'sagar' to shame. They also had parathas, poori etc.

Amenities : This is where this resort excels. A big pool, badminton court, volleyball court, basket ball half court, pottery, kite flying, gilli danda, bullock cart ride etc etc. In short this place has magical capabilities to take you to your childhood days. And that is why children will love this place.

Night : They lite a bonfire and play music too. If you need a night cap it is recommended that you carry your own. Having a sip under the starry silent sky, watching the twinkling lights from a landing plane, is an amazing feeling.

Head for this place and the staff will ensure you will never regret it.

We travelled down to this unique resort to celebrate my daughter's first birthday. We were a group of 9 close family members and we're put up in 4 rooms.

The location of the resort is perfect with certain issues of tarred road connectivity. There is a small patch of kuccha track one has to travel on to reach the resort.

The property itself is superb with activities available for all age groups. From pottery to ride on the bullock cart to carrom and chess and a swimming pool, the resort tries to cater for everyones need.

Food is simple and delicious with effort made by the staff to satisfy all reqmts.

The staff was very helpful in helping with decorations and cake for my daughter's birthday.

Special shout out to Mr Upendra and Mr Hebrew(hope I got the name right) for all their efforts..

A thing that come to mind that the resort can look at improving. The fixtures in washroom need to be looked into in detail.

Overall fantabulous place to relax with family.

ONV is a perfect get away and not too far from Bangalore. True to its name it offers a rustic experience. The staff are extremely friendly and go that extra mile to help you with service and customisation. Special mention for Anurag and Vasudev. Also shout out for Dada who obliged by getting us some medication very quickly from the city.
If you are a pet parent, you will love this place. It offers a lot of space and freedom for pets to move about including common areas. You can order special meals like boiled eggs, chicken and rice, etc. for the fur balls! If you have shoes for your pets, do carry them in monsoons.
Basic internet like whatsapp may work if your personal data can catch a signal. Forget about Netflix and prime. If you are so hooked on to it, it’s recommended you download before you head out. Please tell your kids upfront that Mindcraft, roblox has to be replaced with catapult, bullock ride, swing, pottery, etc.
Toiletries are provided but would recommend carrying your own.
The last five kilometres may give you the feeling you are lost. But you aren’t! You will need to pass through nrithyagram, then wade through cattle on mud roads for about 3-5 kms before you set sight on the brick tower in ONV. If you aren’t paying attention you will miss the hand written ONV boards. Google maps ultimately gets you there! And once you find the place, you are sure to unwind and enjoy it!

We booked two deluxe double rooms for a total of 15k at this property for an overnight stay on a Sunday. This came with a complimentary breakfast. Our first honest feeling on getting there was to drive back home.

Pros:
* The drive to this place was pretty great since there’s a lot of greenery around.
* Pet friendly.
* Quite reasonable in terms of the prices for the stay.
* They offer pottery and a bullock cart rides.
* People can book a day outing at this resort.

Cons:
* The bathrooms had stains and the rooms were dusty and did not feel well cleaned.
* The sight of unpicked plates at the restaurant was not very pleasing.
* The food didn’t taste very fresh. During breakfast, we noticed omelettes being heated on the dosa counter and it made us uncomfortable since a few of us are vegans.
* The indoor play area of the resort was very uninviting with things lying around yet to be picked and cleaned.
* There is no ala carte ordering allowed here, so we need to have lunch/dinner from their buffet.

All in all we did not have a very pleasant stay. The only highlight of this resort are its rooms which have beautiful murals decorating one of the walls. The property needs more maintenance and looks old and run down at the moment.

This pet friendly property is located merely 40 kms from Bangalore city but transports you into a totally different world. Bare basic room furnishings, simple amenities, least use of plastic, and homely food give you the "village" experience which is the slogan and namesake. We were a family of 7 people (and a dog) who spent a night here. We took two rooms - the deluxe room which houses 2 adults and 1 kid and a Zen room which houses upto 4 adults and is bigger in size and capacity. All rooms have a balcony overlooking the greenery and fields. Village depicting activities are available within the property I.e. bullock cart ride, local games, bonfire etc. There is a games room and a spa as well. The swimming pool is quite decent although it could be better maintained overall. No complaints other than maybe giving the property a slight facelift and grooming overall in terms of the landscaping. Offering more local food options rather than north Indian or Chinese would enhance the experience. Most importantly though, the staff are very friendly , and always there to assist. I would recommend this place for a night or two of peaceful stay.

Pro Tip :
Follow sign boards when approaching as maps are not properly routed
Take the package with food , as there are no restaurants etc. nearby , and paying at venue for food is more expensive
Alcohol is prohibited at the property

The place is below average. The family zen rooms are uncomfortable for elderly to stay as the beds are arranged on a heightened stage which is difficult to climb up and come down. The bathrooms are also very average with leaky plumbing and broken showers. The room lighting was poor. The swimming pool has moss growing in it. We were travelling with grandparents and despite informing them in advance they provided us with rooms that were on the first floor (without lift). The staff at the reception were not helpful and neither were the reservation team when we called them to report our dissatisfaction. The only saving grace was the food served. The food was tasty and fresh. Overall we were unhappy with the experience. Not worth the amount charged. I would not recommend this place.

It was a pleasant stay for all the participants. There is lot of open space for group activities, the property is well maintained, rooms are spacious yet cozy. Each room has great balcony view. Staff was polite and helpful. Specially Mr. Upendra and his team took care of every small thing to ensure the smooth stay of participants.
Food is delicious, they also incorporated some local, exotic dishes on request. Thanks to their chef.

Overall a perfect destination for family outing, professional retreats etc.

We traveled with children (8yrs) during weekdays. We stayed in the family room, used spa treatments, swimming pool, cycling, bullock Cart ride, pottery, walks to the nearby field etc.
The staff was warm and welcoming. We were well take care of, the entire 4 nights we stayed.
The place is safe for ladies and children traveling by themselves too.
We requested the chef to prepare some recipes of his choice. These turned out to be delicious treats!

Our original plan was to stay 2 nights. But thanks to the wonderful service, we extended our stay two more nights.

Special thanks to Manish, Sunil (Chef), Amar Singh, Manjunath, Anurag for their patience (Especially Manish) and kind behaviour towards us. Their job maybe to wait upon us, but they went out of their way to do it all with a smile and kindness.

We have recommended Our Native Village to some friends already and will continue to do so.

The house keeping team is also good but they need to be guided by the staff to complete the job well.

All I can tell is “awesome stay”. I went with my wife to the resort as we had no other options in Shimla and northern region due to possible lockdown coz of COVID. The resort, experience and stay in our native village resort did not let us down. We enjoyed to the fullest and had a whole lot of fun. Fresh air, green everywhere, safe and very mood enhancing ambience. Excellent and well maintained rooms . Exceptional service and hospitality by staffs and especially, Mr. Anurag has been very helpful whenever we need even silly or small requests - he treated us with a lot of care and hospitality. Just because of Anurag, I already have plans to go to the resort over again and this time bringing my family with me.

Another reason to choose this is, it is pet friendly. Dogs love this place and any pet lover will have a peaceful and lovely time here. We are allowed to keep our dogs inside the room (there is a balcony for the day time ofcourse). It is worth mentioning about food - it has been two weeks now after our staycation but we still have the taste of Vegetable Kadak curry. Very memorable and tasty. Only downside is the price. If you are a foodie and don’t care about the cost, no worries - enjoy a lot, this is the place for you.

Overall, I rate this experience as 5 stars. Love it and we wanted to extend our stay unless we had office.

One of the worst decisions was to book a weekend getaway at Our Native Village Eco Resort. My wife and I had made a booking at this resort but fell sick the 36 hrs before the trip.

We wrote and called them asking if the booking could be refunded, they said it's not possible because it's a weekend slot and it's their prime slot and many others would have been denied of this room. This was untrue, I then pointed out that there were still rooms available.

Then they said "industry has been the worst hit of all for the last two years due to the pandemic...". Which is understandable.

So I asked if it could be rescheduled instead of cancelled. I said I'm fine with any day, even a non-peak weekday. They flatly refused.

They write and advertise like they are "in touch with nature" and "homely" but behave like a soulless corporate.

Given that we are still in the pandemic and any of us can fall sick anytime, I recommend not wasting your money here. Book here as a last resort on the day of travel, cause the rooms are always available.

Not advisable to travel to this place after dark. Safety can be an issue, as the place is isolated and enroute you may encounter people parked on the kaccha roads and drinking. Additionally, the last 2 kms to the resort, there is no proper road and at night you will have trouble navigating on the mud path and there are ditches.
